The glass jar is acid etched and hand painted with a large landscape scene featuring a mother and child walking on a large estate. The painting is further enhanced with heavy applied gold enameling. The silver plate is made by William ... moreRogers Manufacturing Co. the bottom is marked"WM. Rogers Mfg. Co. and then reads"Rogers" with an anchor on each side. There are also the marks"Quadruple 448" The anchors date this piece to 1865-1867. The insert is a very pretty opalescent light blue satin glass with a diamond hatch mark design. Please see photos as I am doing a terrible job of describing the beauty of this piece. The glass is slightly bluer on top and more opal on the bottom. There is wear to the rim but no chips. Cracks, or other damage to the piece. The silver plate holder is very decorative with a floral design and a ruffled edge. The lid of the pickle jar has a brighter finish than the rest of the piece and I am unsure if it is the original lid. Please make your own determination. The decoration on the tongs has floral elements but also may not be original to the piece. The pickle castor measures about 10&1/2" tall and just over 6&1/2" at its widest and the glass insert measures about 4&1/4" tall and about 3&1/2" in diameter. I cannot find the pattern for this piece and I know this glass design is rare- this is over all a stunning and unusual piece and would be a perfect addition to any collection. Offered from a NJ estate is a rare and beautiful Victorian ear double castor set A silverplated stand with flower and scroll embossing around cups and handle. Flared embossed feet. Decorative scroll hook for the tongs which have 3 claw scaled grabbers and dogwood flowers applied on the handles where you'd grip. The jars are gorgeous cranberry glass in a melon rib pattern. They flare at the bases and taper to straight sides. The silverplated lids are beautifully embossed with raised scroll and have knobs with feather motif. Excellent vintage condition with no dents. Scratches or dings to the plate. The bottles are in excellent condition with the exception of a 3/8" shallow rim chip. On one that is shown in close up in the final photo. We are able to offer this exceptionally hard to find, ~ MERIDEN FIGURAL SILVERPLATE DRESSER SET WITH ALL THREE ORIGINAL CUT& ETCHED GLASS BOTTLES ~. We have never seen this early example of Meriden silverplate, and I am quite certain that not many were ever made or exist as well. It is marked MERIDEN SILVER CO# 46 and dates to the early 1880's we would estimate. It measures 15 inches tall by 10 inches wide by 5 inches deep. It is in very nice condition, although it could use a gentle polishing. The silverplate looks to be in pretty nice condition with some fairly minor expected wear from age and use. The amazing thing is that this set was found with all three original cut glass inserts that are in fabulous condition! There are two cologne bottles and one lidded powder jar in ... morethe upper center. There are no chips or cracks on any of the pieces and only a few little flea bites around where the stoppers go in the cologn bottles. Silverplate frame and top, no makers marks, no markings of any kind, no plate marks either but it is silverplate, It is missing the fork. The lid is domed but it had a dent which was fixed from the underside but it still is not perfectly round at the top, slightly off not perfectly round really not that noticeable I had a hard time trying to get a good photo. The ring around the bottom that holds the jar in place is slightly off round. The glass jar is handblown. I see no seams that you would find in pressed glass, it is a heavy weight piece of glass, ribbed panels with a band of floral etchings. There is a small clam shaped chip at the bottom of 1 of the ribbed panels, some tiny flea bites and rough marks around bottom edges of jar, no breaks or cracks. There is wear to the plating. Here is a beautiful Victorian Serving Castor with the original glass insert. This is a hard to find piece. I believe this piece is from the 1877 to 1890's era. I tried to find info about J Rogers Silver Co and found only one piece of info that claimed J Rogers sold his business in 1877 and retired. It is marked J Rogers Silver Co on the inside of the lid. I purchased this fine old piece at an estate sale this last summer. The home was previously owned by a very long standing antique dealer well known in Portland by many. She collected everything and hoarded as well. It holds 12 spoons around the side of the piece. I have shown 6 on one side for viewing. All 12 holders are intact. This piece has been used. It is not a flawless piece. I have taken photos so please view each and every one. The last photo shows three and I want to reiterate ... morethis- I said three very itty bitty. Teeny flea nips along one side of the glass bowl. You can't hardly see them when viewing them up close. The camera does pick them up on the screen. There are no cracks or chips. This Quadruple Silverplated Pickle Castor made in Taunton, MA by Beacon Silver Company(later purchased by Rogers) This is#430 and in superb condition. It was owned by a great aunt in the Boston area and the piece was lovingly cared for. Being sold by the owner(not reseller) who loves antiques but is at the point of downsizing. The glass is cut glass and the silver is very tastefully decorated(see photo close ups) This is a RARE piece as it is difficult to find a Beacon made piece and one that has not experienced damage. Up for auction is this beautiful cranberry enameled thumbprint pickle castor in a silverplated frame marked Meriden# 0639. The cranberry insert is beautifully decorated around the entire perimeter with daisies and gold highlights around the jar and at the top rim. It is a corset shaped insert in very good condition with just a few flea bites at the top of the insert. The insert stands 4 1/2" tall. The silverplated frame is in very good condition also with no loss to the silverplate. It stands 11 1/4" tall. The sides of the frame are beautifully embossed with leaves. Flowers and fruit. There is a pair of tongs that hang from the side of the frame.

This is a very fine Victorian quadruple silverplated PICKLE CASTOR frame with Lid and Tongs made by the Rockford Silver Plate Company. The frame has a 12 flute sided CRANBERRY GLASS insert with beautiful enameled daises and for-get-me-not. The lid fits the insert perfectly. The frame is 11 1/2" high and 4" across at the base. The insert is 4 1/4" and it measures 3" across. The bottom of the frame has the Rockford maker's mark and is marked and numbered"Quadruple Rockford Sil_ 663" There is a small chip on the outer side of the glass rim(see photo) of the insert. There is some pitting in the base of the frame but it is covered by the glass insert.

Victorian Reed & Barton Silverplate Pickle Castor - Goat Bird Aesthetic Figural
This listing is for an Antique(second half of 1800s) silver plated Reed& Barton pickle castor with a gorgeous Victorian Aesthetic design. This magnificent four footed piece measures 14 1/4" inches tall(to top of frame) and 6 1/2" inches wide(across frame) It features a glorious design of a goat's(or possibly even deer) head on each side. With a heavy scroll floral pattern and a peacock/ bird motif along the lid. The claw tongs feature a flower design that matches the frame, but I do not think they were original to it. It has a very old, handblown green glass mason jar insert that does look lovely on it. The jar has normal age bubbles and straw marks, a rough base and rim surface, but is free of chips and cracks. The castor lid does not fit tightly on the jar but does stay firm when a lid is placed on the jar. The frame is ... moremarked on its feet with the Mfd& Plated by Reed& Barton mark and the pattern number# 1260. The frame is in excellent condition with average(possibly less than average) age wear. There is a small spot that looks like it could have been repaired along the top section of the frame(see photo) This castor set is even more appealing in person than my pictures could show. It's a fantastic example of Victorian Aesthetic design and a very rare piece from Reed& Barton. I do accept returns if you are unhappy with your item for any reason. Up for auction is this beautifully"Gold" and floral enameled Pickle Castor in a Silver plated frame marked(no visible hallmark) The total height of the pickle castor is 9 3/4" tall. The enameled glass insert stands 5" tall and has a few very tiny flea bites at the top of the jar. The glass is richly and beautifully decorated in gold floral designs and blue and white florettes around the entire perimeter of the jar. The fancy two handled silver plated frame is in very good condition with no loss to the silver plate. There are"Lion's Heads" on both sides of the frame.

Antique Victorian James W. Tufts Quadruple Silver-plate Pickle Castor Frame. Measures 12.5" tall. The flat part of the base diameter measures 3" The base feet flare out a little to 4" the inner side prongs measure 3" tall. Measurements between the tall upright neck wires are 3-5" as it narrows in the middle. Tongs are 6" tall. Wonderful floral(daisy? leaves, and acanthus details, aged patina left untouched ~ rare antique. PLEASE NOTE: Original Pineapple Cut Glass Jar has chip in the top rim. Castor has one foot with a broken tip. This doesn't affect the balance or stability of the castor. See photos for details.

The pickle castor is in the Cone pattern and it was made by the Consolidated Lamp& Glass Co. between 1894-1900. The glass is cased with a white inner layer. A pink middle layer, and a clear outside layer giving it this effect. The castor retains its original metal lid, and overall the castor stands approximately 6 1/4" tall from the bottom to the top of the finial on the lid. The castor is housed in a silverplate frame with ornate embossed birds and flowers around the bottom. The frame stands about 10" tall, and it is only marked with the number 651 on the bottom. Item Condition: The overall condition of the castor is very good to ... moreexcellent. It is very clean and has no chips. Cracks, or broken areas except for the rim which has standard roughness as these are typically found. Victorian 1800's Wilcox Pickle Castor ornate silverplate floral frame, jar, RARE
This Wilcox quadruple silver plate pickle castor is a beautiful. Turn of the century piece. It has Lilly of the valley accents, great patina, and aesthetic design. Frame comes with a fancy, smoked glass pickle jar with ornate topper. Attached to frame is a silver plated 1847 Rogers Bros' pickle fork with grape designs. The frame has the normal wear and tear scratches on the base and the jar has 2 very small chips on the lid rim and a chip on the base. Not positive the base chip is a chip or defect) None are noticeable(hard to photo) and don't take away from this beautiful piece but wanted to note them. Antique Victorian Adelphi Silverplate Pickle Castor Blue EAPG Egyptian Revival
This auction is for a pretty antique pickle castor by Adelphi. The base of the silverplate castor has a row of nine embossed panels with floral scenes alternating with scenes of a figure walking through a garden. The top of the castor has a nice. Egyptian Revival style geometric design. The jar is a bright blue EAPG in a block design. The castor has the usual patina and plate loss and there are a couple tiny fleabites on the facets of the jar, but this is otherwise in good condition and displays beautifully. Also comes with a pair of hand form tongs. Measures approximately 12" tall when lidded and 4 1/2" wide.

This auction is for a nice antique Homan silverplate pickle castor. The castor has a scrolled floral design around the base and a geometric design on top. The jar is amber EAPG with a daisy and button with a V pattern. The lid has a repeating daisy and fan design that looks like an owl with a helmeted art nouveau finial. This GORGEOUS antique Victorian pickle castor measures approximately 11 inches in height; the glass jar itself measures 4.25 inches in heights and it is clear glass with floral cuts in the glass and a Starburst pattern on the bottom. The top of the holder features a fan and flower on each side. And the base of the holder also has a floral design. The tongs which hang from a hook on the side of the holder are brass and silver plate. This piece is in excellent condition aside from the silver plate loss and a slight dent at the bottom. Victorian Silverplate Pickle Castor Cased Glass Enameled Flowers Bird Lid Tongs
This auction is for an elegant antique pickle castor. The jar is a beautiful matte cased glass with a snow white exterior and deep pink interior. It has been embellished with a brightly painted floral design. The lid has a bird. And the silverplate castor has a floral design at the top with clawed feet at the base. The underside is marked"Silverplate" and"Made In Canada. There are no maker's marks on the talon tongs. There are minor plate loss and patina to the castor, and there are a couple smudges to the jar, but overall this pickle castor is in very nice condition for its age. There are no chips or cracks on the jar. The castor measures 11" tall x 5 1/2" wide. The jar is 5" tall x 3 1/4" wide and 7" tall when lidded.

Victorian Silverplate Pickle Castor Frosted Glass Jar Figural Floral Holder
This auction is for a nice Victorian pickle castor. The jar has an applied. Frosted floral design and a screw-on cap. The holder looks to have originally had a gilt finish over silverplate or nickle. There is a flower and leaf design on each side that holds the jar tight. There are no maker's marks on the castor, but there are numbers impressed on the base of the jar. There is obvious plate loss to the holder, and some minor scuffs to the jar from where it rubs against the holder, but this is otherwise in good condition and displays nicely. The holder measures 9 1/4" tall and the jar measures 4 3/4" tall.
