This English Sheffield Silverplated Roast or Breafast/Bacon Server is a piece of history.In fine condition.Circa 1890,not monogrammed and no dents I can see.There is a design etched on the dome which appears to be a tapestry with some scrolls,inside is also in fine condition,no pitting or silver wear,the lid button is made of ivory like material like most of the fine silver in those days were,measures 7 1/2 inches tall,12 inches long and 9 inches wide,all mechanical parts work fine,a beautiful piece to impress your guests during holiday seasons. Silverplate Food Breakfast Warmer Server Dish With Rotating Roll Dome Top Cover
A recent estate sale purchase. This silverplate food warmer is 11" long including handles. 8.5" tall and 8.25" wide from front to back. It has a revolving dome cover which features the original Bakelite knob which is often missing. The server has beautiful paw feet. I don't have a lot of experience with silverplate so please ask any questions. This item has been used. It has scratches on the inside that look consistent to what a serving utensil would do. Beautiful Antique c19th Silvered Breakfast/Luncheon Server with Lining Dishes
A delightful period extravagance. In the form of a silver plated breakfast server. This beautiful ovoid container. Dating from the mid 19th century, has an oxbone handled, hinged dome lid, which disappears under the base of the contain when lifted. The dome is simple and perfect. Being without blemish or wear. There is a small slot to the front right which allows a serving spoon to be left in situ with the dome is closed over. Inside the server is the original fret cut tray and the original drip tray which sits beneath. On removing both. The server reveals a perfect silvered inner space. This breakfast/buffet server is from a very high end Salem Oregon estate. I do not see any dents to the surface and the lid rolls smoothly. The server needs cleaning. The server is stamped"The Sheffield Silver Co" Made in the USA" and"211" The glass insert is marked"MADE IN THE USA" 55-8" and"OVENWARE' This style is sometimes referred to as a revolving lid or roll over lid. The measurements are approximately 7 inches tall and 15 inches wide.

All inner trays intact; all numbers match; ivory(bone? lift in very good condition Minor surface scratches consistent with age and occasional use Compare lesser examples on eBay with opening bids for more than $500! This beautiful English breakfast buffet server. In Art Nouveau design, is complete with two inner trays(which are intact and included) The upper tray is pierced to ensure that breakfast meat remain crisp. The egg shape allows boiling water to be poured into the bottom reserve, and the lid revolves and covers the food to keep it hot. Stylized lilies grace each of the four legs, both handles, and two cartouche chevrons in front, under the ivory/bone lift and in the back. The decorative nuts at each end of the piece unscrew and the bolts can be removed ... moreto permit the entire server to be disassembled and more easily cleaned. Maker's hallmarks: HS L D S EP. Appear on the bottom of both inner trays, which, after preliminary investigation, I have assumed to mean Henry Stratford Limited Silver Electroplate, a Sheffield manufacturer. I don’t know why they call it a BREAKFAST server– it’ll work for any meal! The only mfg. mark I can find is the crossed arrows mark. Which is attributed to Wm. Hutton& Sons, Ltd. Sheffield England, between 1800-1922. It measures approx. 12” from handle to handle, 8” wide, including the dome lift, and it’s 7” high. Overall very good to excellent vintage condition. One scratch in the dome(4th pic. right of center) About ½” is all I note. Otherwise, in the bottom of the dish, there are some spots of plating loss(see picture) that will always be hidden by the insert(s) It can be a secret between you and your butler! She wasn't too pleased to receive an engraved"re-gift, until she opened it and found the pearls inside. Or. Maybe SHE had it engraved for him and put a pair of gold cufflinks inside it? Anyway. We don't know who it belonged to, where it came from or how it ended up where it is. All we know is that it's a very nice breakfast server and can still be used. A smart. Ovoid breakfast server in English silver plate. Distinctive. Stately rams head shoulders to the legs, with cloven feet. Coronet handles and an oxbone front knob. Two inner trays. One a drainer, the other a serving tray(the latter being worn and marked to the inside, exposing the solid brass base, as pictured. Not in itself a problem since the inner tray is intended to be covered by the drainer tray, or else filled with food. Invisible therefore during use. Rotating dome cover. The plate to body of the server being immaculate. Some very minor use marks in the internal base of the server beneath both trays.
