A recent estate sale purchase. This silverplate food warmer is 11" long including handles. 8.5" tall and 8.25" wide from front to back. It has a revolving dome cover which features the original Bakelite knob which is often missing. The server has beautiful paw feet. I don't have a lot of experience with silverplate so please ask any questions. This item has been used. It has scratches on the inside that look consistent to what a serving utensil would do. Spectacular Vintage English Silverplate Buffet Food Warmer
Truly magnificent Victorian/Edwardian Heavily Silverplated Buffet food warmer. Measures approx. 12 3/4" x 9 1/4" Deeply relief scalloped edge. Hinged lid with what appears to be an ivory finial. Same ivory handles. Can be removed while piece is polished. Hot water reservoir with screw top closure. Feet are rounded, inverted pyramid type. Bottom stamp: Made in England. This is an exquisite antique silver-plated oil burning hot plate/ chafing dish. It is extremely ornate with very dimensional intricate detailing. It is beautifully footed with very nice floral and shell design, the handles are equally as ornate with much detailing. It is a three piece set the large base. The removable hot plate, and the burner. the silver-plated burner sits recessed into the inside of the base and would hold oil. the plate has some ware on the top but still usable. Very old Food Warmer. Found it at an old garage sale. It has old Possible British Marks on the bottom. I have can inquiry in to see if it can be identified. There was no top and few hairline cracks around the edges. As you can see in the last 2 pics. It was tarnished bad, but I cleaned it up good. Could use a little more work.
