Nevertheless it gives a very attractive look and I thought it would be great for Crafts- Lamp shades- card making- covering small boxes- Dolls etc. It has been stored away and there is damage/holes in several places but the rest is strong clean and useable. My contacts had also stored away some fabulous things for me to rummage through. And I bought several large trunks of antique textiles and ephemera from two particular large country house estates. There are some real treasures hidden away in those dusty boxes! Today I am listing a few items to tempt you, and to give you an idea of the delights to come! The last photograph at the end of the listing is a quick“loot shoot” of some of the items I will be listing over the coming weeks… From the same Carmelite Convent in SW France that yielded the divine boxes of 19th century ... morefabric flowers. a really beautiful panel of Cornely embroidered tulle lace which once formed the bottom flounce of an ecclesiastical garment( aube) it is embroidered with Madonna lilies and fleur de lys motifs. It measures 290cm wide x 90cm deep. Freshly laundered and snowy white with no damage or stains. I can find one original mend(second to last photograph) and a couple of pinprick holes. EXQUISITE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 19th ELABORATE GLASS BEADED NET LACE TULLE PANEL HTF
This auction is for a most exquisite antique 19th century/1800s brown cotton net lace tulle machine-embroidered glass beaded panel fragment salvaged from a Victorian era garment. It measures approximately 38" top-to-bottom on either side in length x 8.5" 10" 12" across top edge-midpoint-bottom edge. It may have a few thread breaks/tiny holes throughout. But nothing that is a major issue. There is a slight amount of bead loss at the very top, which does not really detract. Otherwise, this is in wonderful condition. This beadwork has such a wonderful sparkle to it and is absolutely gorgeous in person. Since the net tulle ground is a dark brown, the jet glass beading appears to be dark brown as well, but it is probably black. I have only seen brown beading once before and it is really difficult to tell. Unfortunately, this ... moreis my only piece and I am still reluctant to sell it, since I love it. I have wanted to use it creatively, since the possibilities are endless, but know that I will never get the time to do it. I truly hope that whoever wins this, will appreciate it as much as I do. I also have an amazing collection of 19thC jet embellishments– unused. From a long-closed French haberdashery, lace, wedding items and other French delights. GORGEOUS ANTIQUE 1800s HDMD VICTORIAN ERA TAMBOUR LACE TULLE PANEL FRAGMENT
This auction is for a very lovely antique circa 1800s 1900 handmade/applied Tambour lace panel salvaged from and old drapery panel of the Victorian era. It used to be much larger. However, the remaining portion was damaged by the sun and just shattered. This is of cotton fibers and is still strong. This is in very good condition aside from discoloration surface marks in certain areas of the lace as can be seen in photos. This most likely can be removed by soaking in the appropriate solution by HAND. Due to its old age, I do not recommend pulling or tugging on it, washing by machine or drying in a dryer. I also attended a really interesting country house auction before I left, resulting in some wonderful acquisitions- a rare crinoline bustle, a hoard of silk& kid Victorian wedding shoes and some interesting items from a family who lived in the Far East in the 1920s–enjoy browsing! Dating to around 1890. This is a very lovely fine tulle curtain, with a central hand embroidered cutwork panel, and several types of handmade lace that look stunning with the light shining through them. There are currently loops and metal"poppers" along the top edge, but you may want to ... morereplace these with aother header tape. The curtain is made from fine lace sprigged tulle(there are some original well executed darns, and a few small holes which I have shown in the photographs) with Valenceinnes lace trim along each side, and a bottom layer of hand embroidered tulle with motifs of bunches of grapes and vine leaves. Huge embroidered tulle lace panel- a curtain perhaps, or a bedspread. it does have some holes, rips and damage(I have rtied to show some of these in the last photographs) and I have not laundered it- I am selling ... moreas found. It could be repaired(the darns would not really be visible when gathered as a curtain) or it could be used for other vintage sewing projects, as the work is stunning. A stunning hand-worked tulle long panel with applique work it would have been a panel from a long narrow French window. It could now be used in any period setting or in any period home furnishing project. It is Fresh white with no stains or marks. The fine tulle netting backing carries small dots and is all good and strong with just a couple of tiny holes that do not detract. The applique work is amazing. All in linen tape lace the base design is an array of flowers with scrolls and curls. ANTIQUE FLORAL Embroidered Off White Cotton Tulle Panel 17"Wx 22"L Bears/DOLLS Yellowed threads. Lovely very sheer off white cotton tulle panel with swirling floral embroidery. Embroidery threads are white with a pearly sheen. Piece appears to be unused and is slightly crisp. Color is slightly uneven. Embroidery threads have yellowed in one small area shown in 3rd photo. Also a few scattered small holes/breaks in net. The largest about 1/4” the rest smaller. Measures about 17” wide. And about 22" long. Comes from a smoke and pet free home.
