Pair of Antique French Hand made lace curtain panels. Each curtain measure 51cm wide(20" x 204cm drop(80" there is two this size) colour is white cotton. A cotton tape is hand sewn on the top edge. This would have had small rings or crocodile clip rings on this band to hang. Condition is as found and good. There is a little area on one with a few breaks in the cotton(see pic)

The first curtain has a small amount of wear on the edge of one side. And a couple tiny squares have thinning thread in the middle. The second curtain has five small areas down the edge of one side with wear, a couple breaks and loose threads, and a couple tiny squares have missing thread in the middle or thinning and breaking thread in the middle. These panels are a deep ivory and there are a few areas of discoloration but should wash out with a little magic oxyclean. Hard to see discoloration especially when hanging against light. There may be the odd hole and area of damage- but on the whole these are good usable panels. PAIR OF FINE OLD UNUSED SHEER COTTON& LINEN LACY CURTAIN PANELS! Wonderful pair of lacy curtain panels from an estate lot that also contained matching pieces listed separately. This pair has each been deeply hemmed at their tops but they seem to have been stored for about a century and not used. Each panel is a medium tan and has much lace at the bottom consisting of machine made filet lace figural insets as well as hand made knotted lace insets set in as diamond shapes. Bottom edges are scalloped and they are trimmed with ... moremachine made Cluny lace at the edges. One of the panels has two decorative pulls at the bottom. The main textile is a sheer woven cotton. Condition is excellent for each panel although there are is a barely visible mark or two on each. Each one measures 61" long but there are deep hems at the top that can be taken down for an additional 8" Which makes them the same length as the single unhemmed panel listed separately. They are 36" wide. Please see our other listings for the third matching single panel. And a bedspread and sham set. ANTIQUE LACE& EMBROIDERY APPLIQUE PANELS ~lovely A set of very pretty antique applique panels. These are cream lace& embroidery& appear to be unused as the larger piece is still tacked on to the gauze backing that it would have been mounted on for sale. Perhaps they were left over from a dress-making project. I'd say they date to the early part of last century& they are still very useable today. The larger piece is approx. 60cm or 23 1/2" long x 19cm or 7 1/2" deep. There's a place at one end where it has separated slightly but this could be rectified when it was sewn onto a backing. The 3 small pieces are approx. 18cm x 13cm or 7" x 5" each. There are a couple of age spots on one but over all the condition is very good& these could look amazing in use. Across the width is about 8" of net. A 6" crochet panel, and 29" of net in the middle. S mall fine brass curtain rings hand sewn into top of curtain. The lace is a very fine needlerun french net with beautiful embroidery and insets. Accompanying this. Is appliqued roses of watered silk in pastels of pinks and green. These were made to have the watered silk behind the netting, but you can also use for a more pronounced roses look, on the other side. It is very hard to tell which side is the"right" side, so you can use as you want. The tops are unfinished. You can hem to your desired length. They measure approx. 56" and 55" long(squared off as the tops are a little uneven) x 22 1/2" wide at the bottom and 18" wide at the tops. In good but not perfect condition. Flaws ... moreare hidden well in the pattern. There are a couple dark spots. Some loose applique spots, a couple loose threads on the edges, a few tiny holes in the netting, one pea size hole in the netting, 24" down from the top one repair 16" down from the top as shown in photo's. Antique Lace for Skirt Exquisite Needle Lace, Embroidered Lace Panels 60" x 19"
Exquisite antique lace piece perfect for a Skirt! This wonderful old piece. Measures about 29 to 30" around the top a little wider at the bottom, and 19 1/2" long. It is made of 8 panels each of the 5"wide Heart and Arrow cut work needle lace and the 2 1/2" wide filet embroidered Roses design panels. Guesstimated to be from the late 1800's to very early 1900's. It does have a bit of light staining. I have not tried to wash it, and will leave that up to you, since I know very little about antique lace. It is not finished at the top or bottom. No holes or tears found. I can see this made into an amazing lace Mini Skirt or there is possibly enough for a vest or add to a one of a kind Wedding dress made of all kinds of beautiful old lace! Up for offer is an antique. Vintage item lot from our family collection! Our family is from Mennonite background and has lived in Southwestern. Ontario– Canada, specifically Kitchener and Ingersoll, after immigrating to Canada from Pennsylvania from the 1760’s. This is for a gorgeous lot of antique lace pieces that have been meticulously embellished with sequins. Seed beading and embroidery- ALL hand stitched! The above photo shows a group of family members who were avid seamstresses. And this lot came from one of their sewing baskets- three sisters, a mother and grandmother who lived together(sadly, the father passed away in his early thirties from cancer) The photo and this item lot dates around 1905-1910. This auction brings you 3 exceptional antique Victorian original lace curtains. I believe these are point de gaze given the heavier lace. Thick embroidered floral cameo towards the bottom half. The scallop bottom is accented with 2 tassles. 33" wide and 88" long. Generously proportioned fabric. slight discoloration at the top of the tassels. Different thread intertwined? slight repairs on the lace. one panel has a tear near the bottom. slight tears. One repair has a different color thread used. Thank you. Beautiful Antique Tambour Lace Curtains Details as follows: Two lace curtain panels measure 86 inches long by 46 inches wide. The lace is created with a Tambour tool on netting. The two panels are a matching pair. You can place one on two windows with perhaps a sash. Or both on one window- They each form an'L' shape design that meets in the middle. Very elaborate and wide floral Tambour lace with the opposite edges having a simpler matching Tambour lace trim. The tops are finished off with a seam for a rod and there is about 1 inch above that to create a very short ruffle. A lappet(or lappet shaped) piece of antique. Hand-made lace which seems to have a central panel, which is surrounded by a separate flounce of another type of hand-made lace. The'lappet' is42" long(107cms) and the widest point is 8" across(20cms) There are very few breaks, where possibly a thread has been broken, and I have shown these in my pictures. This time I will be exploring new areas of France. Visiting large brocante fairs and markets… I am looking forward to filling my shelves with new finds! In the meantime, I still have lots of treats for you this week– I bought several boxes of antique textiles from en estate sale in Ayrshire, and am selling the last of the fine linens from the boxes I brought back from SW France at the end of last year…enjoy! Yet another attempt to clear some space before I move to my new studio in the old Victorian stables next to our house.I am selling this large box of lace as it is- bought from a Scottish country estate last year. I have not laundered ... morethe lace- there are many large panels here. A stole, collars and many lengths of various edging trims. I can spot tambour lace, Schiffli lace, bobbin lace, needlelace, tulle and more. Most of the lace here is Victorian, some handmade lace, some machine made lace. Some of the lace is in excellent condition, other panels have holes, and are for projects. The box of lace weighs 2kg, and there are more than 50 panels and lengths of lace here, including a huge Victorian tulle and tambour lace edging flounce- 450cm x 60cm(some damage) Those of you you who have bought similar boxes of lace from me in the past will know that this is NOT just full of short bits and bobs, but has a lot of excellent lace for projects- a huge lot!
