A very long pretty piece of I'm told Brussels hand needlepoint point de gaze edging lace featuring finely detailed flowers. Leaves and tiny dots etc, measuring approx 7.5 x 388cm. I am told that with it having superb. Intricate, dense and precise motifs that it is a rare, and one of the most desired fine museum quality or collectors laces and that every tiny stitch in it, even the tulle looking background was stitched by hand. I think it must have taken well over a year to produce. I was also told that it would probably have been made to use in a wedding dress. From research I've done I think it was produced in the 1850's. I have pictured the full length in eight sections(the eight horizontal similar looking pictures) for you to see the full length in detail. It is a lovely antique white colour with slight age discolouration in ... moreplaces however I would think it would clean up probably perfectly with a very gentle wash. It is in very good strong condition however there is a scatter of small holes which could perhaps be repaired maybe using invisible thread. The top header lace is missing along part of the length. Point de Gaze has layers of petals; Brussels Duchesse lace also has lots of raised petals and details. Elegant center fabric beautifully mounted to the lace. Condition very good A couple of small breaks in the lace. One small hole in point de gaze mesh in one corner. White. Clean. Handkerchief about 11 inches square. As seen on photo, it seems to have been pleated to fit a dress perhaps, condition generally very good, it measures along the bottom inc velvet 11and a half inches and from top shoulder down at longest edge nearly 15 inc velvet, this is another piece appraised by mrs Pompi parry as a piece of intererst, the lady at the time seemed to be advisor to a museum.

We recently Purchased an Estate of Victorian Era Clothing& Pretties! Everything from this Estate looks to be from the Victorian/Edwardian Era and Flapper Era as well! 5 yards antique/vintage Brussels Point de Gaze lace flounce
This is a wonderful long length of late 19th century Brussels Point de Gaze lace with a beautiful delicate floral design. It measures 5 yards by 11.7 ins. This has no joins and both ends are finished. So I presume it is unused, although there is some loose hand stitching to top edge. It has a lovely crisp finish, though it really does need to be carefully cleaned- colour is a mid ecru and there are areas of pale age browning( one illustrated) In addition there are 2 dark brown age marks, which will be more difficult to remove, though they are near one end. There is the occasional small hole, but apart from this good condition. Antique BRUSSELS DUCHESSE LACE FALL CAP (Lappets) Head Scarf, w/ Point de Gaze
BRUSSELS DUCHESSE LACE FALL CAP. A typical headpiece of the 19th century that replaced the separate lappets and cap of the 18th century. This beautiful handmade piece features mixed Brussels lacemaking techniques: bobbin-made lace elements and four inserts of needlepoint lace roses on a point de gaze ground. The roses have raised rose petals. A decorative technique introduced in the 1870s. The fall cap is quite large and may also be used as a scarf. Each“lappet” is about 30” 76cm) long from the center of the“cap” There are a few weak or detached brides. I noticed one light spot. This piece and the others being offered on eBay were part of a collection of lace pieces from descendents of John Jay. First Chief justice of the United States.

It measures 32&1/2 inches(83cm) around the inside edge by 5&1/4 inches(13cm 4mm) down centre back and 6&1/4 inches(15cm mm) across widest point. There are a very few minor pulls and a very small hole in the net of one of the point de gaze inserts( please see close up photo) otherwise in good condition. This is a BIG. Beautiful collar or table centerpiece. Originally a circle, it unfortunately is now in 3 pieces which can be put together. The lace is fabulous. All handmade. Most likely from turn of the 19-20th century. I am not an expert in types of lace. I am making my best guess in the title. But it is handmade without question, 3-dimensional, and fabulous. The leaves stick out and above the body of the lace. Hard to see in the pictures. Check the pictures carefully for the dimensions. I have laid out measuring tapes on the lace. No brown spots. Perfumes, smells, or problems- except the tears. Totally fabulous. Even if you didn't sew the pieces together, the biggest piece would make a terrific statement. An incredible piece of handmade Point de Gaze lace survived from a fan. Made in Brussels between 1860-1890. This superb lace piece is a high quality 3-dimensional Point de Gaze needle lace with the buttonhole stitches and raised outlines. The lace is in excellent condition with an exception of a small break as shown in one of the pictures. The color is as shown with age. It measures 18 inches across and 6 inches deep. Silk lined with amazing needlework of Spiderweb mesh ground and pretty Flowers. Each Cuff has 2 small Mother of Pearl Buttons. Scalloped edge. Cream in colour. Some damage to the silk around the top. It does look as though the owner has cut some silk away but they are both the same, so not sure if they are meant to be. These are truly beautiful and need to be owned by a collector. London c 1895 Brussels Belgium lace fine hand worked Brussels+ Point De gaze intricate late Victorian baby christening gown The gown has a worked bodice and sleeves and deep worked skirt all as shown. With silk and net edged slip below length is a 35" length and 9.5" flat across the front chest underarm The dress lace is almost as worked with hardly any flaws and is in remarkable condition for the age and has been carefully stored.there are small button fastening to rear and a couple of teeny pin holes in under silk slip the point de gaze leaves are raised and worked in delicately. And the edge is fine. Given the clearly classic design of the gown it could be used for a boy or girl.
