16 Antique 1920's Fancy Hand Made Wood Lace Making Bobbins
I found a set of 20 of these which were sold Internationally and it was said they were used to make Brussell's lace. The wood cap is to protect the thread. As you see there are 17 pictured in the second picture but the last one is without the cap or cover so that one is included at no charge. They are all in very good condition. They were is a bag with thread on them and I am leaving the thread. Some black and some white. I have one more lot of these to list next as I did not know how many one might want. Antique Lace Making Pillow With Bobbins, Pattern & Original Silk Storage Bag
Antique silk damask covered lace-making pillow with twenty-five bobbins of thread. A silk-covered pincushion, a pattern with the beginnings of lace and its original, matching silk damask storage bag. One end of the pattern shows the start of some bobbin lace trim and the plethora of pins that are used to hold and give shape to the lace as it's being worked. It's interesting to note the intricacy of the small amount of finished work, and consider the hours of work remaining to create a few inches of bobbin lace. The storage bag has a drawstring on one end, snaps(a later addition, I believe) and a braided cord handle with ornaments on the other end. Probably French in origin, the pillow and its accoutrements are in excellent antique condition with some corrosion to some of the pins, and the bag is in fair condition with weak, splitting ... moresilk and some damage to the metal handle ornaments. The pillow measures approximately 29-inches in circumference, 7 1/2-inches wide and 7 1/4-inches tall, and the bag measures 16-inches long and 13 wide. Member of the Vintage Fashion Guild. Antique French Roller Lace Making Pillow& 39 Bobbins 1 Pattern Birgil Karlson is in great shape. Shows some edge wear to the material where it attaches to the wood base on the outside edge. Other wise in great shape. Roller is removable and has a pattern and some lace attached. The pattern is leather and is marked NO 5 BIRGIL KARLSON. The roller is wood and is covered with padded material and measures 7 3/4 across. Pillow measures 20" across and is stuffed with grass or straw and covered with heavy material. What I would call carpet bag material. Material is in great shape other than on the edges a few holes. There is some storage room under the roller as shown. The bottom of the pillow is wood and the wood has some age cracks nothing bad, still sits fine on a table. Includes 39 wood bobbins with 13 chipped or cracked and 26 good ... morebobbins. Most are the same size but there are a few smaller ones. Please let the pictures be your guide or ask questions. Great vintage piece.

Two are plain turned wood and two are made from ox bone. They vary in size between 9cm and 11cm. I cannot spot any damage. A lovely collection with some stunning spangles! More photographs below. Antique French Lace Making Table Loom With Original Wooden Bobbins, c1870
This is a very rare Antique French Lace Making Table Loom. Continental. Probably Scandinavian. We bought it in Sweden. It's in superb original condition. It has three legs. Very sturdy. All moving parts move freely. Upholstery tacks are all clean and shiny, fabric clean and solid. There is a center rolling part upon which is pinned a little piece of lace that is still under construction. It's as though time stopped here. The height is adjustable by turning the key under the table and lifting the top to your desired height and turning the key to tighten. It is made from beautiful cherry wood. There are 16 very nice wood bobbins with cotton yarn all around. The fabric is a green color. Velvet kind of material. There is no smell or odor, no signs of it ever getting wet. No mold or mildew.
