Pair of Antique French Hand made lace curtain panels. Each curtain measure 51cm wide(20" x 204cm drop(80" there is two this size) colour is white cotton. A cotton tape is hand sewn on the top edge. Beautiful large antique French filet& tape lace curtain 1900. Click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge This week I am listing more beautiful Victorian& Edwardian linen and lace. Costume and accessories from a country house estate in SW Scotland, and some of the unusual items I acquired at the auctions I attended across the UK recently. I managed to buy 5 really beautiful antique Durham quilts last week– from a large house in County Durham– all listed this week. I have also been laundering and sorting out the remaining boxes of textiles and treasures from my autumn trip to France, and am trying to clear space in my studio, as my first buying spree this Spring is now organized for the beginning of April. Can’t wait! Lovely large antique lace curtain- two vertical panels of tape lace flanked by filet lace panels. And edged on ... more3 sides by tape lace. This would probably have been used to cover a door opening- a portiere. And it dates to around 1900. The curtain is freshly laundered. With no marks or stains. Apart from a very few brides that need attaching and a couple of tiny breaks in the filet lace, the curtain is in fabulous condition. It is pale buttermilk in colour- if you have a Farrow& Ball colour chart to hand, it most closely resembles colour Nr. 1- Lime White. It measures 320cm in length- the top is gently gathered, and is 130cm wide, whilst the bottom edge is 150cm wide. Perfect for your boudoir! More photographs below. PLEASE READ. This seems to be half of a bedcover. It's really quite lovely and even though it has some condition issues. You could get a small tablecloth out of it. Definitely some doll's clothing. It's approximately fifty inches by fifty six inches. It's very romantic.

An i mperfect antique French filet and crochet curtain panel(circa 1900) about 82" long and 56" wide. Pom poms down one long edge. Along bottom hem and continue about 34" the other side. Across the width is about 8" of net. A 6" crochet panel, and 29" of net in the middle. S mall fine brass curtain rings hand sewn into top of curtain. There are about 10 very small holes which hardly show unless hole hunting. I f you are looking for a perfect antique c urtain or cannot mend the holes. This curtain is not for you. Dating c1900 ~ an absolutely beautiful textile~ this textile would have been used, most likely as a bed curtain. The cotton thread is a warmer, pale natural ecru tone ~ It feels like the netting has a linen in the mix of the thread. The edges have a wonderful V shaped scallop ~ This textile weights just over 4 pounds! ~*~ This textile is large and wonderful ~ would make the most beautiful curtain, bed cover, table cover, window treatment ~*~( 2110|) This textile measures approx. 100 inches wide by 85 inches long ~(these textiles have so much give. For Sale is a Gorgeous Mid 19th Century Bride's Shawl. It is of Silk Muslin I think. It is very Soft. There is a doubled hem around the entire shawl. There is Filet Lace with Tiny Hearts as the inside border around the entire shawl. 10 Hand Embroidered Roses and Leaves.Amazing! 4 Filet Lace Panels with Baskets of Flowers and topped with a Bow. The middle area the textile is a little weaker. Thinning, pulled threads. There is a water mark but not to noticeable. There is a repair that is about 1 inch and in the last picture. 3 Antique French Filet Lace Embroidered Runner Panel Pillow Sham Neoclassical Absolutely beautiful. Includes three neoclassical antique French filet lace shams. Two are matching. Showing Prometheus- the Greek God who brought fire to man. The words Le Feu are displayed, translating to fire. Quite intricate. The other sham shows a Greek goddess angel with the word, L'air" which means the air. Very interesting and beautiful. They are the same size, approximately 18" by 9.75" In great antique condition. Exquisite Antique Mixed French Lace Guipure Filet Figural Boudoir Pillow Sham
From a local estate. I've got a lovely assortment of fine antique/vintage European linen& lace up for auction this week. Be sure to check my other listings. This auction is for: Item: Antique Hand Stitched White French Mixed Lace Boudoir Pillow Sham Details: What a beauty! Measuring 25 x 20-1/2 inches including the 3-1/2 inch ruffled edging all the way around. This sham features a combination of French laces. The center, a filet with the figure of Jupiter, surrounding Jupiter are hand embroidered cutwork details and exquisite handmade Guipure lace in a scrolling floral pattern. The cotton batiste ruffled trim is edged with 1 inch Guipure lace. The backing is cotton batiste with a 2 button closure accomodating a pillow appx 17 x 14 inches. This sham is very old and has suffered little damage over time. From what I could find, there ... moreare 3 small holes within the ruffles, an easy fix, 2 small darned stitched repairs at one of the cutwork areas and 1 darned stitched repair within a ruffle. See pics. The sham was completely brown from age and has been soaked immaculate. No lingering spots or stains. Pressed and ready for use. Antique French hand made coloured filet curtain, circa 1900
A n interestingly original antique French(circa 1900) cotton filet curtain with fringe. A bout 89" long and 42" wide. Tassels/fringe about 7" The"right" side has faded. The colours on"wrong" side are brighter. It has been so well hand sewn could easily be hung the other way round. A hole at lower hem and 2 smaller close by. They should be easy to repair the cotton is quite thick. A munch at top hem and a pulled thread or two.
