A pretty Maltese silk lace handkerchief. The central silk is circular and has around a dozen pin holes. I t is surrounded by a d eep silk lace border which is in very good condition with minor signs of wear. The handkerchief is 12" 30cm) square and the lace is 3" 7.5 cm) deep at the sides. Circa 1910. They were discovered on a local house clearance here in Brighton, still wrapped in the original brown paper package from Messrs. Mifsud, 140 Strada Santa Lucia, Valletta. Dates on this package are 1907 and 1909. I think this was probably brought back to England as a souvenir by a British serviceman in Malta during WW1. They are made of very fine linen. Trimmed with silk Maltese lace. Each one measures 25 cm. square. They have never been used, so condition is as new. The centre fabric of the doilies is silk. The doilies have marks and there is a break to the thread at one corner of a doily. There are a few'holes' to two of the silk centres. Antique lace shawl. Hand worked, 19th century, Maltese? This lace shawl measures 76" x 76" It appears to be made from cotton and is completely hand worked. I would say that there are approximately 11 breaks in the lace. The largest of which I have tried to show in the photos. There are also a few small breaks on the scalloped edge(approximately 9, the largest one is 1/2" This lace shawl has been very finely worked but does not feel brittle. ANTIQUE 19THC HM DELICATE BRUSSELS LACE VEIL & FINE BEDFORDSHIRE MALTESE CUFF
This is for a delicately designed small applied Brussels bobbin lace veil with point fillings and a fine Bedfordshire Maltese lace cuff. The veil is very pretty with finely well done motifs and lovely point fillings. It however does have scattered small breaks to the delicate net. So NOT perfect, please see pics. The cuff is finely done and has a very delicate light quality. So a nice example of this type lace. It is in near perfect condition. With no stains or breaks, just a couple of loose threads at one end. The veil measure approx. 29" long x 19" at it's widest. The cuff is approx. 10" long x 3.25" at it's widest. Both are a soft white color. With the cuff perhaps slightly more creamy. Please feel free to ask any questions.

This is a very pretty antique or vintage cream coloured Maltese lace table set for six that appears to be made of silk. The centre mat measures approx. 18" dia. Six place mats measure approx. 9" dia. and six coasters measure approx. 5 1/2" dia. This lovely set is in excellent clean freshly hand laundered condition. For Your Consideration 4 Antique Mid-Victorian Handmade Black Maltese Lace Flounces/ Trims dated to around 1870- For re-use on antique or reproduction dresses or on dolls clothing Description. These 4 handmade black Maltese lace flounces/trims were almost certainly removed from the skirt part of a dress that dates to the late 1860s or early 1870s(please see the fashion plates below that show such trims on gowns dating to 1870 and 1871) The trims are made of what I think is silk thread. The lace shows a continuous flower. Foliage, swirl and Maltese cross design. The flounces are all different lengths. And I am pleased to say I am overwhelmed with some very beautiful pieces I shall be listing for you this week, starting this evening. I met with one of my valued contacts in Paris who has brought me some wonderful pieces, I am also still listing some beautiful items I was lucky to have acquired from a country house in Ireland, and also some very beautiful items from personal collections. Antique handmade Maltese fine silk lace cape collar. It measures 44 inches(112cm) around the inside edge by 12&3/4 inches(32cm 5mm) down center back. There are some places that need a rejoin. Two pairs of vintage handmade Maltese bobbin lace pieces
Two pairs of piece of vintage Maltese bobbin lace- two ecru pieces are apparently cut from a larger piece- perhaps a collar or something. The two white pieces appears to be a pair of cuffs. One has been mounted on fabric, with edges turned and tucked on the back side, the other is pretty much intact. Seam is coming loose, which is interesting to see how Maltese is made in strips and joined. Both ends are finished off- one a bit frayed. All in good condition and clean. Two white pieces could be reclaimed as cuffs. Or used as study pieces. White cuff is about 9 inches long. About 3 wide. little bits are about 6 by 3. The dress measures 10 inches(25cm 5mm) across under arms by just under 23 inches(58cm) long from centre front and 54&1/2 inches(138cm) around the hem. It fastens at the back with 2 mother of pearl buttons, there are a very few very small holes in the net and a few of the Maltese lace motifs need a slight rejoin otherwise in good condition, The bonnet measures approx 12&1/2 inches(32cm) around the front and 9 inches(23cm) around the back edge, it has a silk lining, good condition but needs a ribbon to tie. A SET OF SIX VINTAGE SILK MALTESE LACE DOILIES
A set of six silk. Maltese lace doilies, which are 5 1/2" 14cm) and worked in cream thread. They have a central Maltese cross, surrounded by four large leaf shapes and numerous small leaves and flowers. They are all in very good vintage condition with a couple of tiny spots and one has a loose thread were a small leaf may have become undone. This exquisite item has hand made Maltese lace in the form of four large butterflies, one in each corner, plus a 4.1/2" deep Maltese lace edge. The lace is absolutely stunning as it depicts not only the Maltese cross and the ears of wheat which identify this wonderful hand made lace. But it has an unusual long stemmed large flower in each corner of the lace which has a depth of 6.1/4" measured at the corners. This rare find was extremely dirty with age/storage when obtained and I have very gently laundered the cloth by hand in an appropriate washing solution but there remains part of a soil mark and other small and ... morefaint marks which I feel sure further time and perserverence will remove. A STUNNING & RARE UNUSED VINTAGE MALTESE SILK LACE BRIDAL BAG WITH LOVE LETTER
An amazing. Unused vintage Maltese lace, pure silk bridal(vanity) bag which is hand made. It still has it's original card label attached, guaranteeing that it is hand made Maltese pillow lace. The bag is lined with cream silk and has a twisted silk drawstring. There is a central Maltese cross with flowers around it and the bag is edged with scalloped lace. It is 10 3/4" 27.5 cm) high and 7 3/4" 19.5cm) wide and is in very good unused vintage condition with a light fold mark, which has no staining. The only similar bag I can find is in the Bag& Purse Museum in Amsterdam. Both sides of the bag have been shown in the photographs. It comes with a post card of Maltese lace workers and has the prices of items that could be purchased written on the back. The price of a Vanity Bag was 6/11d. There are other items on the card.
