FRESH FROM A PARIS ATTIC CLEARANCE SOME WONDERFUL BLACK CHANTILLY LACE. THERE ARE 2 LENGTHS 1 MEASURES 99 X 4 INS AND THE OTHER 70 X 4 INS. IT IS SECURED ON THE ORIGINAL CARD AND THE PRICE WAS 100 FRANCS THAT WAS PROBABLY A METRE. I AM NO EXPERT IN LACE BUT HAVE LOOKED CAREFULLY WITH A STRONG EYEGLASS AND ITS NOT UNIFORM SO IT COULD BE BOBBIN LACE. IF ANY WONDERFUL LACE LADY OUT IN EBAY LAND KNOWS BETTER WOULD APPRICIATE INFO. A PAIR OF CHANTILLY BOBBIN LACE SLEEVES CIRCA 1860-80. The lace was made into sleeves at some later date. 50 cms(19.5 inches) long. 18 cms(7 inches) wide at the top, 9 cms(3.5 inches) at the wrist. Note: we have inserted white tissue paper into the sleeves to make the design of the lace easier to photograph. Ich spreche fliessend Deutsch.
