Antique Lace Wedding Veil Shawl Irish Limerick French Embroidered Net Lace This is a lovely veil or shawl and would be perfect for a wedding. I believe it is either Irish or French. The motifs reminiscent of harps lead me to believe Irish. Embroidered Tulle Net was popular in many places in Europe during the 19th century. The edging work. Net ground and motifs are particularly delicate as the work is done on a very fine(small) netted ground and it's precise. The edge has just enough decoration and tiny scallop to give this more of an interest than straight edge. At 21 inches wide, it's sufficient for a veil as opposed to just a shawl. Condition is near excellent. About as perfect as you're going to find for a piece this age and with this fine a gauge. There are no holes or tears one tiny tan spot smaller than the eraser on a number ... more2 pencil, you have to really search for it, it's faint and barely evident. The embroidered details are simply amazing and I can see a few small threads and knots. So I am assuming it was all hand embroidered. You have to look at the close up photos to see the unbelievable work put into it. It was cut into shawl form and does not have the edging throughout the whole thing as shown. Unsure what kind of lace it is considered but it is stunning. It measures about 54" wide(with a neck area trimmed for the neck) and about 24" wide at it's widest. And tapers up from there. A couple of small holes as shown in the photos(see photos with the ... moredimes in them for their size) I always start my listings low and with no reserve. The piece measures 51 inches at its longest by 118 inches at the widest. The condition is a tad rough as there are holes in many places. The pie ce retains much of its beauty though. Very nice C1890-1910 Victorian tape embroidered net lace shawl with a pretty flowing pattern. It is slightly off white in color and measures 96" by 16 1/2" Condition overall is good. There are a few small scattered holes in the net. Stitching along edges of the net must have been part of the construction. Estate trunk found. Could use a light washing. Guaranteed as described. Fine and lovely antique needle run net lace fichu or scarf- beautiful florals. And all hand-worked. Triangular in shape: 18" down the center. 40" across the top. Color is ivory. Slightly shabby- a few storage stains. A repair, a couple of openings, and some separations at the edge. Still pretty, and very romantic.

A beautiful antique lace shawl in wonderful condition for something this old. This lace is all handmade I believe it is done on netting and then woven into the netting my guess is with a small needle. It's in a very light beige. It measures 70 inches long and at its widest point it's 29 inches. It has a couple of faint age spots and a couple of holes as scene in the pictures. Thanks for looking

Antique very long- 128 inches x 15 inches wide- lace shawl. In good antique condition for the age and type of this item. There is one larger hole- shown in the photos and a few minor breaks in the background net, certainly not enough to detract from the beauty of this shawl- it could be worn at a spring wedding. It has a machine net ground with tambour work decorationn worked on top of the net, this may have been done by hand with tambour hook and thread or machine, even the machine work had to be carefully guided by the lace worker which in itself was a skilled job.
