I believe, the style is torchon bobbin lace. It is 100% linen, I guarantee(I can tell the difference)The color is pure white. I was my great grandmothers, and it is been in the family for a long time. This lace was folded in her closet for so many years. She brought it from Belgium more then a century ago. 1920's Antique DUCHESSE BRUSSELS PRINCESS BOBBIN NET LACE BLACK VEIL 220" WIDE
This Auction is for A Spectacular Piece of Antique Black Net Lace It was quite difficult to photograph this large piece of lace hopefully my pictures you do it justice. Lower finished edge measures approx. 220 inches wide. At center is is approx. 40 inches long and at either end it measures 65 inches long. I am not sure if this large piece was part of? It's shape reminds me of the bottom of a skirt in the way it is shaped. There is certainly lots of exquisite lace for many possibilities. It could be fashioned into a stole or cape. A veil or used to be part of another type of garment. The lace has bobbin and tape lace appliques added to a fine sheer net. Condition is very nice with very little wear. The lace is not brittle or dry. While placing it for photographs I did find 2 very tiny holes in the net but when I tried to find them again ... moreto photograph them alone they couldn't be found. Bonnet veil 19th c. Brussels or Honiton bobbin lace applique bride collect CW
Something very old for the bride-a simple elegant small veil. Or fine scarf to cover bare shoulders for the ceremony. Could be either English Honiton or Brussels. The little leadworks in the edge motifs. As well as the tiny bobbin lace dots that powder the fine net field suggest the veil might be appliqued with Honiton bobbin lace rather than Brussels. Brussels more likely would have had needle-worked dots in the field. Tenstick loops were very typical of Honiton. Handmade Bobbin lace motifs are appliqued on machine made net. Probably mid 19th century. Totally appropriate for Civil War reenactor. About 15 inches deep at the widest point. About 38 inches long. Excellent condition. A couple very tiny holes in the net. Brussels bobbin lace motifs appliquéd on fine machine net. 19th Century. Lace edging 5 inches deep; handkerchief 17 inches square. Lovely design of trailing flowers and vines. Raised ribs in the flower petals gives the lace interesting texture and depth. Background net has been carefully opened around the flower center and other motifs to show off the needle lace fillings. I recently bought an interesting collection of lace edgings and flounces from the collection of the late Susan Cox who founded the Tiverton lace school. Although some are quite short I shall list them all separately- if you buy more than one I will combine postage. This is a fine bobbin lace length. I think probably Brussels, but couldn't say for sure. Unwashed, a mid ivory colour. Very good condition, possibly unused, both edges finished. 33.5 ins long, 5 ins wide.

Fine border of Brussels needlepoint lace grounded with bobbin-made drochel net;
This delightful border dates from about the 1780s. The very fine bobbin net has some mends but these are so well done they do not distract from the overall design. This type of Brussels needlepoint is rare. Extremely rare in this condition. Size- 29 1/2in x 2 3/4in + later narrow footing. I am happy to combine postage for several lots.

This is for a very interesting mid-18thc Brussels bobbin lace flounce. With birds! It is a very lovely fine lace. Finely worked, and of superior quality. This is from the"Pat Earnshaw Collection" Is as found, very soft and a creamy white color. It is in wonderful condition. But does have a few tiny pin hole in the ground, really minor. Brussels Bobbin lace Lappet circa 1720- 1730. A single lappet of Brussels bobbin lace with the bizarre silk design typical of the early 18th century. There are a LOT of mends. Some are shown in close photos. Wherever you look there will be a darn, mended edge,etc. It does however appear to be mainly original- the back-lit views do not show any particularly odd lines in the design that would indicate it was cobbled together. Whatever points this piece loses for being very worn out and mended it gains back in design. The motifs are wonderful. If they are cobbled and mended. It was done with great eye for design. Yardage of mid 19th Brussels bobbin lace appliqué on fine machine made cotton tulle. Seems to have been rescued from a gown- is still attached to a deep border of fine cotton machine tulle. Condition is very decent and usable. Found six seams plus some tears and holes in the Brussels appliqué lace. Others in the attached border of fine cotton antique machine net. The seams were not particularly elegantly sewn- certainly could be improved, although care was taken to match up pattern repeats. Would benefit from being taken apart and reworked- lots and lots of good material. Including the quantity of fine cotton tulle. Brussels bobbin lace appliqué lace is about 3-3 1/2 inches deep. The home had been closed for the last 20 years, everything in it was completely untouched during that time. The house belonged to the Stewart family. Each room was filled with antiques that spanned from the 1800's through the 1970's. This beautiful little piece along with 24 more to be listed were all found in a velvet box. Length of very early Brussels bobbin lace. Finished all around with later made strip of picots. Remake possibly intended as a 19th century collar. Very dense design of stylized flowers and florets within the leaves. With snow fillings and almost no background. Half stitch and whole stitch both used as background behind design of little flowers. Brussels bobbin lace. Probably mid-late 19th century, with pretty little floral motifs on a Droschel ground. Nice raised work on the tiny floral motifs, gives it depth and texture. Tiny florets scattered over the ground. Excellent condition. Perhaps never used. Has been stored for many decades, so it is dusty with age. Color ecru. May lighten with washing.
