I have not found the origin of this apron which seems to be neither Breton nor Provençal. Maybe from the center of France? If you have a specific idea, I take the information with great interest! This apron is laced at the back with two ribbons. Total width: 470 cm reduced to 35 cm at the waist. This old apron is in perfect condition, without any wear. Antique embroidered tulle lace lappet
This is an antique lappet of embroidered lace on tulle. The work is very delicate especially the finely embroidered scalloped edging. Embroidered cotton applique pieces embellish the ends. It is approximately 6 inches wide at the applique section. 5 1/2 inches wide elsewhere and 50 inches long. Please note there are two seams which may indicate repair and there are scattered holes. Also note a spot of storage discolouration by one of the appliques. please see photos)

Antique Tambour lace fichu - finely embroidered tulle shawl
This is an antique fichu in Tambour lace. A very delicately embroidered tulle. It is off white with a ruffled lace boarder all around. It is very fine work and it is unsure if it is Victorian or Regency. It is approximately 22 inches wide in the center with the ruffle, but tapers down on either end. The ruffle is 3 1/4 inches deep and the whole thing is 63 inches long. There are definite condition issues with scattered holes in the tulle of the center lace piece and damage at either end with the ruffle(please look at all nine photo's to see these areas) One of the pictures shows an attempt at repair. The ruffled lace boarder has fewer holes in the tulle and could be removed for use as trim.

And I am STILL ploughing my way through the boxes of delights– laundering, inspecting, photographing and listing them. The wonderful brocantes and antique markets proved to be a fabulous hunting ground as usual. And my contacts had stored away boxes of brilliant antique textiles and ephemera for me to delve into! My next trip is fast approaching– this is my last listing before I depart… I will be back with more French treasures on 22 nd September. Dating to the 1920s. This is a square embroidered tulle plumo or duvet cover. Which would have sat atop a double bed, filled with a silk-covered, down-filled cushion. These were traditionally much smaller than our ... moremodern day duvets, and just covered the top of the bed. This one has a flounce on all sides, and an opening, so you can insert the plump inner into the lace pocket, and re-sew along the seam. By using a contrasting colour of fabric inside, the details of the tulle and embroidered motifs show up beautifully. There is also enough fabric here for all kinds of other projects- a bed canopy or curtains perhaps. It is freshly laundered, with no marks or damage that I can spot. The size of the inner(double-sided) pocket is 127cm x 127cm, + the 24cm deep flounce on each side = 175cm x 175cm. Beautiful vintage boudoir accessory! More photographs below. PLEASE READ. Here is an absolutely stunning and elegant old Tambour lace bedspread/coverlet with hand embroidered cutwork and Tambour stitching. In a soft ecru color. It measures 110" X 80" inches and features extensive embroidered florals and scrolling patterns against a net background. Embroidered vines and scrollwork appear to be done in thick satin thread on an ecru colored soft fine mesh net lace that is probably cotton. Appliqued flowers and leaves are framed by exquisite cutwork. The larger flowers are the palest pink. The workmanship on this bedspread is just amazing. It is in amazing condition considering its age. We do not see any obvious tears. Pulls, or stains. It has a beautiful light ecru patina that is clean and even throughout. Any discoloration you see in the photos is a reflection of the unevenly colored hard wood floor. The ... morepictures do not do it justice. It is truly breathtaking in person. This piece has been very well preserved and is in excellent condition with no holes or stains. There may be some minor age spots that we have missed during visual inspection. Item Description& Condition: Antique Victorian black and white Tulle and embroidered Lace Pelerine or Fichu Collar trimmed with black narrow velvet-1860's. My model is a little large for this item. It closes with three small cloth buttons with loops and has a tab at the front point and the centre back point presumably for pinning to the dress. The black lace edging when viewed beneath a magnifying glass appears as a dark brown colour! It is in excellent crisp condition and appears as though it has never been used. However. It has been in storage ... moreand has not been washed. I have found a couple of barely noticeable small storage patches on one of the trim edges and a short area also on the edge which needs a few replacement tacking stitches. My model is a 34" bust and I feel that this is a little bit tight, so I would think that it would be up to a 32" I do not know how to measure it otherwise! All the treasures from my last two trips to France will be arriving here shortly, but in the meantime I am listing some gorgeous things from recent auctions and as my stock of antique quilts is low, I shall be visiting my lovely“quilt lady” From a private collection- I have 3 wonderful antique French wedding veils listed this week. All date to the 1880s. Freshly laundered and snowy white, there are no marks, stains or damage. The cap or crown of the veil is made from fine white cotton, and the surrounding tulle ... morelace is all hand embroidered. There is a drawstring at the back of the veil. The length of veil from the crown to the bottom edge at the front is 21cm. This will fit any head size, as the cap part can be adjusted with the drawstring. This is a very beautiful antique French wedding shawl, capelet or mantilla- embroidered with appliques and crewel work embroidery(Cornely) with scrolling motifs of grapes and vines(often symbols of fruitfulness and bounty) It is freshly laundered ... moreand snowy white, with no marks, stains or damage. There may be the odd stray thread to trim, as this type of applique and crewel work edging sometimes leaves slightly fuzzy edges, but no holes or damage. This would look wonderful worn over a strapless wedding dress, or a special evening dress- perfect for summer evenings. It is 32cm deep at the back, and 142cm measured from one end to the other. The scrolling floral motifs are all hand embroidered on to the net- so pretty. It measures 75cm wide x 259cm long. It could be used as a veil, a wrap or a shawl. This auction is for an exquisite antique French early 1900s embroidered fine silver metal embroidered net lace tulle textile fragment. It measures approximately 17" across(measured along bottom due to its stability) x 19" top-to-bottom e dge. There are a total of five full scallops. One on the very edge is slightly torn and only a small portion of metal lace. It is approximately 9 3/4" from top edge of embroidered dot to bottom edge of scallop ONLY(entire embroidered portion only) Each scallop from point-to-point is about 3 1/4" There are no other rips. Tears or stains aside from aforementioned flaw. The tulle ground is cotton with a very fine weave. The silver metal threads are NOT metallic, but metal, wrapped around a fine cotton thread. The scallops have a lovely sparkling quality and there is no tarnishing. This is ... morea very feminine and simply stunning lace fragment. Antique lace tulle overskirt*Point de Gaze raised cording*Embroidered net lace*80" wide by 40" long Offered here is a beautiful original antique piece of lace on tulle which was an over-skirt. This is an ivory color net tulle with designs made of hand applied cording and embroidered lace. The cording is double and raised in 5" wide by 12" long embellishments around the hem in between patterns of heavy raised embroidered floral designs which are 4" wide by 8" long. The hem is scalloped with a 1" to 1 1/4" wide border of tightly scalloped cording. The skirt has been removed from the waistband and has a raw edge at the top. The snaps are still attached at the side, so it could be restored with a simple waistband or used for fabric. The piece is 80" around the hem, 76" wide at the top, 40" ... morelong, it has one French seam in the back. Excellent antique condition, clean, sturdy; there are a few very small holes in the tulle, a fainted spatter of rust at one of the florals. This is a gorgeous piece of very old lace, lovely Victorian/ Edwardian piece. I sell a variety of items of which I am not an expert on. Visiting large brocante fairs and markets… I am looking forward to filling my shelves with new finds! In the meantime, I still have lots of treats for you this week– I bought several boxes of antique textiles from en estate sale in Ayrshire, and am selling the last of the fine linens from the boxes I brought back from SW France at the end of last year…enjoy! A stunning antique French skirt flounce- wonderful motifs of leaves. Grapes and flowers- all hand embroidered with appliques. There is a cotton header tape at the top edge, and the bottom edge is scalloped It is 96cm deep x 250cm ... morelong. It is freshly laundered and snowy white, with no marks or stains. there are several original, well executed mends and darns(see last images) but these are not very visible amongst all the scrolling, intricate motifs. Perfect for all kinds of vintage sewing projects- very beautiful antique French lace! More photograpsh below. PLEASE READ.
