Antique Princess Brussels Lace Wedding Veil ~ Delightful Princess lace veil This pretty wedding veil has Swiss dots allover and is embroidered depicting garlands and scrolls. Floral vines. Delicate sprigs and leaves. This slightly oval veil is scallopped all the way round enhanced with a tiny lace edging. The design in the centre of the veil. Which is more densely worked, gradually tapers off. The veil is embroidered all the way around the edge with delicate floral vines. Sprigs and swirls. 1920's Antique DUCHESSE BRUSSELS PRINCESS BOBBIN NET LACE BLACK VEIL 220" WIDE
This Auction is for A Spectacular Piece of Antique Black Net Lace It was quite difficult to photograph this large piece of lace hopefully my pictures you do it justice. Lower finished edge measures approx. 220 inches wide. At center is is approx. 40 inches long and at either end it measures 65 inches long. I am not sure if this large piece was part of? It's shape reminds me of the bottom of a skirt in the way it is shaped. There is certainly lots of exquisite lace for many possibilities. It could be fashioned into a stole or cape. A veil or used to be part of another type of garment. The lace has bobbin and tape lace appliques added to a fine sheer net. Condition is very nice with very little wear. The lace is not brittle or dry. While placing it for photographs I did find 2 very tiny holes in the net but when I tried to find them again ... moreto photograph them alone they couldn't be found. It measures 11" at the narrower point. Doily is a squarish round. Very nicely executed lace with charming detail. Very Good condition. No stains. Netting is perfect. Individual tape laces and motifs were hand assembled to look like Brussels lace flowers and vines. There is a large central motif filled with flowers and vines as well as a smaller one on the pillow sham portion at the top. The sides are gently gathered and edged in more lace and leafy vines. No border top or bottom. The color is ivory and appears almost as pale yellow. The photos were taken on a full size. The overhang will be longer on a twin. These bedspreads also make beautiful window treatments or bed canopies. I have a matching one up for auction this week if you need two. Condition; Overall condition is very good with small imperfections. Eight beautiful pieces of antique Brussels Princess lace which imagine were taken from a Victorian wedding dress due to their shapes. They are covered in exquisite floral patterns and swags and many have beautifully detailed scalloped edges. They would date from around 1890. Up for sale is this Antique Brussels Lace Wedding Veil. The veil has a metal comb sawed in from a professional tailor. The veil is made of cotton and has Point d' Esprit( Swiss dots) allover. The veil is slightly scalloped all the way around. The scallops are more prominent at the base of the train and at the face part. The veil measures approx 50" wide at the widest point and 115" long. Fine& gorgeous antique Brussels Princess Lace trim. Circa 1890. Lush, detailed- this is simply beautiful! Size is 12 x 68 inches. Color is ecru. Four full repeats, and at least 3/4 of each motif at each side. Slightly shabby. Sold as is. Estate fresh and not laundered. A few dark storage spots, a large water stain(2nd last photo) and some holes(last photo) Some hooks are attached along one end, but I don't think this lace was ever used.
