Created long ago in the mill towns of the Valley or brought here by families from around the world. Here you will find these and other beautiful and useful things they couldn't do without. PAIR OF FINE OLD UNUSED SHEER COTTON& LINEN LACY CURTAIN PANELS! Wonderful pair of lacy curtain panels from an estate lot that also contained matching pieces listed separately. This pair has each been deeply hemmed at their tops but they seem to have been stored for about a century and not used. Each panel is a medium tan and has much lace at the bottom consisting of machine made filet lace figural insets as well as hand made knotted lace insets set in as diamond shapes. Bottom edges are scalloped and they are trimmed with ... moremachine made Cluny lace at the edges. One of the panels has two decorative pulls at the bottom. The main textile is a sheer woven cotton. Condition is excellent for each panel although there are is a barely visible mark or two on each. Each one measures 61" long but there are deep hems at the top that can be taken down for an additional 8" Which makes them the same length as the single unhemmed panel listed separately. They are 36" wide. Please see our other listings for the third matching single panel. And a bedspread and sham set. 2 Beautiful Early 1900's European German Net Lace Curtain Panels 44" X 140" #2
This Auction is for Antique Long Net Lace Curtain Panels Lot#2 Each panel measures approx. 44 inches X 140 inches. These panels were recently purchased at a local country auction. Panels came with a tag that says ~ No 574 ~ 12/4 ~ 3 1/2 yards Made in Germany(shown in pictures) Panels do have some light yellowing. Several small spots and a few very small holes in the netting( examples shown in pictures) I did not find any rips or tears. Lace is not dried out and fragile. General condition I would say is good to very good consistent with age. These are probably the nicest net lace curtains panels I have yet to sell at auction. An i mperfect antique French filet and crochet curtain panel(circa 1900) about 82" long and 56" wide. Pom poms down one long edge. Along bottom hem and continue about 34" the other side. Across the width is about 8" of net. A 6" crochet panel, and 29" of net in the middle. S mall fine brass curtain rings hand sewn into top of curtain. There are about 10 very small holes which hardly show unless hole hunting. I f you are looking for a perfect antique c urtain or cannot mend the holes. This curtain is not for you. The large flower at the bottom of each one has a sheer fabric in the petals that are a very soft pastel color. The bottoms have a 7" wide ruffle with a slight scalloped bottom. There are no curtain rod pockets at the tops. You would use drapery clips to hang these. Also included in the 14" long by 70" long matching valance. It is so hard to find these with the matching valance like this! There are some minor tiny holes which will be hard to see when hung. There are a couple minor age stains, which I show with a dime for size comparion. They are clean, with just a slight"old" odor. They would probably freshen up with a gentle wash or soaking. These are in good condition and would be elegant on any window in your home. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE MATCHING BEDSPREAD ON ANOTHER EBAY AUCTION. Set of 5 antique/vintage Tambour Lace Curtains that are incredibly ornate. They are not perfect! There is damage from age and much work to be done on them in order to restore them. The extensive floral applique embroidery is where the value lies. They could be used to create a stunning bridal gown or to adorn other linens. The first photos are from the second curtain panel. This auction brings you 3 exceptional antique Victorian original lace curtains. I believe these are point de gaze given the heavier lace. Thick embroidered floral cameo towards the bottom half. The scallop bottom is accented with 2 tassles. 33" wide and 88" long. Generously proportioned fabric. slight discoloration at the top of the tassels. Different thread intertwined? slight repairs on the lace. one panel has a tear near the bottom. slight tears. One repair has a different color thread used. Thank you.
