Up for auction is an absolutely gorgeous lace wrap from my mother's estate. I believe she purchased this when she and my dad visited Paris years ago. It is quite long. Measurements: approximately 16 inches across and approximately 100 inches long. To give you an idea for now it is as wide as a hanger and approximately twice the length of a door from top to bottom. The detail on this is breathtaking and it has been stored in tissue paper for years. The floral pattern is stunning and the scalloped edges add to its beauty. It is rectangular so I am guessing it could also be used as a runner but it is quite long so you'd need an extra long table. I believe it was purchased sometime in the early 1960's. This is one of a small collection of lace shawls I bought recently from the collection of the late Pat Earnshaw. This is a black silk bobbin lace piece- I think it is probably Spanish. But couldn't say for sure. It measures 31 ins x 2 yards 15 ins. The lace seems to be made in strips measuring 3.75 ins wide. It has the occasional small area of damage, but in general good condition.

Dipping to a deep v below the waist, the lace shapes around the body until we find two long rounded'lappet type shapes' at the front. In excellent condition for age. There are no holes but a few untidy strands as often found with this type of lace accessory. The lace appears to be silk. But I do know that some of this type of lace was given a'finish' that made it glossy, so fibre content unknown. Must be silk or cotton! This is a large black Chantilly Lace Shawl from the late 1800's. It is triangular shape with scalloped edges. I has a lovely floral motif. It measures 105 inches across the top and is 54 inches long at the v. Condition is good with about 6 small breaks in lace netting.There are 2 more noticeable- 1 thumbprint and 1 fingertip size on the middle of the back. See pics with ball point pen tip at reference. Could be pulled together with black thread. A couple of areas along edges with loose threads.

Lovely example of Edwradian Costume 1900s. It is made with machined black lace attached to a black net top with lines of lace ruffles. It is very wide and deep and it has been caught together with a stitch at each side to create a very loose sleeve effect. obviously this can be easily undone if prefered. It is very stylish. There is ma repair to the net at one point which you can see in the last photgraph. It measures 224 cms across and 62 cms deep at the back tapering out at each end.
