Antique early Flemish needlepoint lace length
This early and finely-worked example of antique Flemish lace may date to the 16th or 17th century. Judging by the style and condition. This is needlepoint lace and uses plaited connecting'brides' to connect the motifs: the shape suggests that it is possibly trimming. The complex design is formed of scrolling lines and floral motifs(please see close-up images for more detailed information) Due to the age of this piece, the threads have discoloured and there are a few loose threads: however, this is in remarkably good condition for its considerable age. It measures 312cms in length and 7cms in width: the ends have been cut and have frayed slightly. This would be suitable for adding to a collection of antique lace. This exquisite and unusual length of antique needlepoint lace has a highly complex design formed with scrolling floral motifs interlinked by elaborate. Picot bars. I have not been able to find anything similar in lace books or on the Internet so, unfortunately, I cannot give more detailed information about its possible origin or date. It appears to be cotton in composition and is in remarkably good condition with no breaks or repairs visible. Due to age, however, the threads have discoloured quite badly but this could be remedied with careful, gentle cleaning. It measures 228cms by 10cms approximately. Antique early Reticella needlepoint lace length
This early example of antique needlepoint lace may date to the late 16th or early 17th century. Judging by the style and condition. This is needlepoint lace in the style known as reticella and may be Flemish or Italian in origin: the straight length suggests that it is trimming. The complex design is formed of geometric repeated patterns between plain'border' rows and one end has been folded over and sewn. It appears to be linen rather than cotton in composition. Due to the age of this piece, the threads have discoloured and there are a few breaks and loose threads along the edge: however, this is in remarkably good condition for its venerable age. Fine border of Brussels needlepoint lace grounded with bobbin-made drochel net;
This delightful border dates from about the 1780s. The very fine bobbin net has some mends but these are so well done they do not distract from the overall design. This type of Brussels needlepoint is rare. Extremely rare in this condition. Size- 29 1/2in x 2 3/4in + later narrow footing. I am happy to combine postage for several lots.

A delightful. Long piece of antique needlepoint lace in excellent, used condition. This trimming measures 290cms by 3.7cms and features pretty bluebell-shaped floral motifs along its entire length. A very long pretty piece of I'm told Brussels hand needlepoint point de gaze edging lace featuring finely detailed flowers. Leaves and tiny dots etc, measuring approx 7.5 x 388cm. I am told that with it having superb. Intricate, dense and precise motifs that it is a rare, and one of the most desired fine museum quality or collectors laces and that every tiny stitch in it, even the tulle looking background was stitched by hand. I think it must have taken well over a year to produce. I was also told that it would probably have been made to use in a wedding dress. From research I've done I think it was produced in the 1850's. I have pictured the full length in eight sections(the eight horizontal similar looking pictures) for you to see the full length in detail. Wonderful craftsmanship. Disappearing with time goes. Size about 28cm cross(11" cross) Made from 100% white cotton. Great quality. So pretty and exquisite.
