A PRETTY VICTORIAN/EDWARDIAN BABY DRESS WITH HAND MADE BRODERIE ANGLAIS & LACE
A beautiful Victorian/Edwardian lawn baby dress. It has a yoke of dainty hand embroidered broderie anglais and hand made lace. Above it is a frilled collar of the same broderie anglais. The wide leg of mutton sleeves are also edged with lace and broderie anglais. The hem also has bands of broderie anglais, lace insertion and pin tucks. The dress fastens at the back with ties and is 19 1/2" 49.5cm) long and 8" 20.5cm) across the yoke. It is in very good vintage condition and would probably fit a baby of 3- 6 months. A mixed lot of various vintage white broderie anglais and trim to thread ribbon through. Just over 15m altogether, all in useable vintage condition. The top three pieces are from the top approx. 84cm in a circular piece. 68cm by 5cm wide(picture 2) and 58cm by 6cm respectively. The next two(photo 3) are 1.62cm by 3.5cm.And 1.63m long and 4.8cm wide. The top piece in photo 4 is in three pieces. All just over 1m by 2cm: the two matching pieces below are approx. 78cm and 48cm with some staining, and the small piece at the bottom is approx. 28cm by 1cm. The final two pieces in photo 5. Three matching parlour maid's caps. Dating from the 1930s and unused. They are from a box of unused shop stock that has been in store for many years. They are all made of white organdy and have a broderie anglais edging to the top edge. Each cap has a black velvet ribbon for fixing in place. They are 16" 41cm) long not including the ribbon and 3 1/2" 9cm) deep. They are in unused vintage condition with slight age marking. There are another three of this pattern listed. Beautiful Antique Cotton Victorian Broderie Anglais Lace Fabric Sunflowers 1890s
You are invited to bid on this beautiful piece of antique Victorian cotton broderie anglais fabric. Dating to approximately the 1890s. I think it probably came of a baby's gown. It features a row of cutwork, embroidered sunflower heads surrounded by swags and leaves, and with rows of small flowers on either side. The piece has a scalloped embroidered hem. The cloth measures 60" by 14" With one seam along the length. The broderie anglais is 5.25" deep. It is in good condition but for a few small marks. It has been freshly laundered and comes from a smoke free home. A lovely vintage textile piece. I will be listing lots more vintage textiles and linens over the coming weeks. Punchwork and pintucks. Beautifully worked. It has lawn cotton on the central pintuck panel and four tiers with scalloped edges. It is in fantastic condition. There are no rips. Holes, tears or stains anywhere on it. It has been laundered and starched and is a crisp, bright white. A wonderful addition to any vintage textiles collection or perfect for a christening.
