6 Antique Victorian 1890s Tambour Net Lace Curtains Fancy Estate Find Selling together 6 antique Victorian Circa 1890s era tambour net lace curtains. There are 6 of them which makes 3 pairs. An ornate set in an ecru color. The panels measure on the average about 86 x 26 inches. There's holes. Age/water spotting in places. They have an overall yellowing from age. This is typical to see with these early lace pieces. Just found from an estate. They came out of a Victorian house in my area. The lady of the estate was 104 when passing. NO RESERVE! Elaborate and beautiful antique net lace curtains- a rare matched pair. Loads of tambor and applique in spectacular florals. Likely French. Circa 1920. These are absolutely stunning. Each panel measures approximately 44 inches wide by 78 inches long. Condition is used and rather shabby. Though recently laundered: nice and white. I note some holes and tears in the net lace, fraying at the edges, and many places where the applique needs stitching down(last photos for examples) The tops are rough-cut. No question, these need some tlc. I put in a few stitches on a couple of the tears(last photo) just to stabilize them until someone actually repairs them. BEAUTIFUL OLD pair of ecru color net lace panels in a hard to find design. Measuring approximately 35" x 84" each, with a 1" hemmed rod pocket. There is heavy embellishment on bottom area, a scallop along the bottom edge, and a stitched finished border around three sides. The centered design allows these panels to be hung separately, or as a pair of curtains. PLEASE NOTE: One panel has had repairs done to the net. Some of which I have shown in close-up photos with beige background, and are seen in context in main photos. As my photographs show I have been struggling to photograph these wonderful chateau drapes in the breeze. It is a wonder they have not taken flight across the marsh! Dating from the 1880s this is a stunning pair of very long antique French chateau tulle and lace curtains. This is a genuine period pair of drapes in amazing condition for their age. The backing is strong tulle that is soft allowing the curtains to drape. Billow and fall beautifully. If tied back with ribbons or ormolu holders they would have the most romantic appeal. Each curtain has a decorative inner border with an inner corner flourish and bottom edge design that is all hand worked. The hand worked lace is intricate and stunning and is all worked in linen ... morethread. A triple flower lattice border runs down the inner edge of each drape. These borders are interspersed with round and diamond cartouches filled with lace designs of flowers and petals. Each bottom inner corner has a stunning flourish of lace work containing flower blooms with double layer petals with scrolls and curls. The three borders continue across the bottom edge too. The inner edge and base edges are trimmed with fine lace and the bottom edges have scalloped edges. I have not laundered these drapes and they will come up wonderful with a soak in a gentle stain remover or wool wash by hand. There are some pale brown marks from storage but they should remove. The top edge has a fine linen band to attach rings or clips. There are no holes and there are some small amazingly worked old darns that do not detract in any way and simply add to the authenticity of the drapes. The lace is a very fine needlerun french net with beautiful embroidery and insets. Accompanying this. Is appliqued roses of watered silk in pastels of pinks and green. These were made to have the watered silk behind the netting, but you can also use for a more pronounced roses look, on the other side. It is very hard to tell which side is the"right" side, so you can use as you want. The tops are unfinished. You can hem to your desired length. They measure approx. 56" and 55" long(squared off as the tops are a little uneven) x 22 1/2" wide at the bottom and 18" wide at the tops. In good but not perfect condition. Flaws ... moreare hidden well in the pattern. There are a couple dark spots. Some loose applique spots, a couple loose threads on the edges, a few tiny holes in the netting, one pea size hole in the netting, 24" down from the top one repair 16" down from the top as shown in photo's. Offered is 6(six) panels. Of the same curtain design and matching, all antique laced. Clean and all in very good condition, with very few minor defects noted below. All panels average a same length of approximately 43 inches. The widths per panel run from 26 inches to 34 inches, depending if side hem has been completed. All 6 panels are included in this lot, Lot 6 pieces or panels. Below are specific details regarding each panel, and a photo of each panel can be found in my photos. The lace work on the lower or edge trim is amazing and all areas are like new. Including the exquisite flawless horizontal panels. A pair of antique French 19th century hand made tambour lace curtains with scalloped edges and scalloped hem. About 29" wide and 78" long. Hand sewn cotton binding about 6/8" deep across top hem. Slight difference in colour creamy white to blue white which faded after washing. Sun-drying and ironing. Quite a few very delicate repairs. Well hidden in the embroidery. A pair of antique 19th century French tambour lace curtains in very good condition. About 126" long. 60" wide at lower hem and 39" at top pleated hem, the sizes are not exactly the same(about an inch difference) The 3½" deep top hem has been folded several times. Scalloped sides and hem. 7 fine brass curtain rings hand sewn into the pleated top hem. One has a pale storage mark on top hem. The other in the middle, photographed. The marks faded greatly and should disappear with washing and sunshine. Have photographed some pin head holes. All items sent recorded delivery with tracking within one day of purchase. 1486 D4

The themes of the Richelieu lace and the button hole embroideries are Large irises and butterflies with arabesques. Near the bottom each panel has Richelieu lace squares with arabesques. The very bottom of the panels is adorned with a wide hand made bobine lace in a scallop shape and hand made tassels of 2 different sizes. On the sides and at the bottom the panels feature a border of hand made bobine lace. At the top each panel has 12 brass original antique rings. The panels are of an ivory/off-white color cotton. Both curtains have a few tinybreaks. Almost all in the net lace, both also have a couple of small holes and tiny loose threads on the edges. One curtain has 9 fine brass rings top and bottom. The other 11. Both have two or three small holes and slight discoloration from storage. Have washed. Sun-dried and ironed, the marks have faded already. From the attics of a chateau brimming with 19th century fabric. Antique French Tambour Net Lace Pair Curtains Matching 118" Long Panel Set Lot A
This gorgeous pair of antique tambour lace panels are approximately 118" long and 37" wide. The rod pocket seams have come undone. So they are not finished at the tops and will be a little shorter once you turn the edges under to form the rod pocket. They would be great for a high ceiling room where more length is needed, or may be long enough for a standard size window with enough extra length to cut and to create valances from the excess at the tops! These panels are over 100 years old, so they have a lot of history which is reflected in the numerous small holes(most are rice sized, a few are pea sized, and there may be one kidney bean sized) some dark stains and soiling, darkening of the lace, and a few loose threads. There are some repairs to some of the tears/holes(one of the panels has a 5" repair to a tear) I have tried ... moreto get pictures of most of the worst of the defects between the two panels. An imperfect pair of antique organdy curtains with tambour embroidered hem. The tambour embroidery is about 10½" deep with a scalloped tambour embroidered hem. The curtains are 44" wide and one 111" long. The other 112" 3" deep gathered ruflette(modern) across top of curtains. One curtain has storage marks. Beginning of hole at 4" from selvedge and 27" from top. 2 holes near selvedge in amongst the tambour.44" wide and 112" long. At 23" and 28" from top is an area of small holes. At 26" from selvedge and 28" from hem are 2 holes. An L shaped tear at selvedge and 23" from hem. There are also a few pin head holes nearby and some faint storage marks. Some with partial repairs, all in one area and a little above that area there is a small repair and some stretched threads.
