And would hang down about 30cms(12" plus 11cms(4 1/2" with the pompoms. It is in good used condition. It has about three small rust spot, and some loose threads on three of the pompoms, but these would hardly be noticeable once it was hung in place. I have for auction this amazing antique hand made crochet curtain. It is French and was found in a house clearance here in the South of France, I adore this chunky French crochet work and buy it whenever I can, this curtain is a beautiful example of this work, it is an exquisitely worked crocheted trellis with large grape vines climbing the trellis, all giving this amazing curtain a very 3D effect, I hope you will be able to see this in my photo's. The curtain has been crocheted with a cotton like thread in an antique cream colour with a very deep scalloped fringed border at the bottom of the curtain, the curtain has 13 lovely quality brass curtain rings sewn to the top edge. The curtain measures approx wide approx 1m40 or 55" and long at it's maximum, this is the centre to the bottom of the fringing approx 2m60 or 102.5" ... morethis is approx because the crochet work is slightly stretchy. The curtain is in good antique condition, commensurate with it's age, it has not been washed, it is just as it was found in the house clearance. This is such a beautiful piece it would also look stunning displayed as a wall hanging, I am sure it would look sensational in a modern or antique interior and would be much admired. I bought this fabulous curtain on an antique market here in the South of France, the dealer I bought it from told me it had come out of a Château in the Aveyron, it is a wonderful colour which has been difficult to photograph, it is a rich true creamy Café au lait, that gives a warm glow, easy on the eye, the curtain still has it's brass rings sewn to the top for easy hanging, I have not wash the curtain, it is just as it was found on the antique market, due to long term storage there is a couple of brown marks due to storage, I would think that they will come out with washing, please see these marks in my photographs where I am pointing, you will see that they are hardly noticable and do not detract much from the beauty of this magnificent ... moregenuine antique curtain. Antique Figural Crochet. Crocheted peacock figure in white cotton which may have been used as a curtain. Table topper, runner or perhaps as an insert for a tablecloth. It is large and measures 40 inches in length by 25 inches in width. The crochet is a fine gauge stitch. It is in general good clean condition with a few considerations. I have found two small very light and hard to find stains. Two photos with the dime show the area but the stain is difficult to see.
