My contacts had also stored away some fabulous things for me to rummage through. And I bought several large trunks of antique textiles and ephemera from two particular large country house estates. There are some real treasures hidden away in those dusty boxes! Today I am listing a few items to tempt you, and to give you an idea of the delights to come! I have also posted a photograph at the end of the listing– a quick“loot shoot” of some of the items I will be listing in the weeks to come… Beautiful palest apricot silk crepe de chine baby or dolls bonnet. Trimmed ... morewith silk rosettes and lace. The bonnet is lined with the same apricot silk- no damage, marks or stains that I can spot. It can be secured under the chin with the two ecru silk ties. There is a floral embroidered motif on the crown and at the front of the bonnet. Measured from one tie to the other around the face is 32cm- the total circumference is 52cm. Antique Baby dress & bonnet net with Maltese silk h/made lace..............Dolls
Antique handmade sweet little net baby dress and bonnet trimmed with handmade silk Maltese lace. The dress measures 10 inches(25cm 5mm) across under arms by just under 23 inches(58cm) long from centre front and 54&1/2 inches(138cm) around the hem. It fastens at the back with 2 mother of pearl buttons, there are a very few very small holes in the net and a few of the Maltese lace motifs need a slight rejoin otherwise in good condition, The bonnet measures approx 12&1/2 inches(32cm) around the front and 9 inches(23cm) around the back edge, it has a silk lining, good condition but needs a ribbon to tie. Antique Vtg Victorian Lace & Netting Bonnet w Silk Ribbon Roses French Dolls
For auction. A child's-sized bonnet hand made of cotton netting and decorated with French knots and silk ribbon roses. The bonnet is lined in fine silk. In the back is a ribbon cord that gathers the back of the bonnet to fit the head. As you can see in the photos, there is discolor to the cotton netting from age. Also, there were once ribbons at the front for tying the bonnet under the chin. The measurement from front to back is about 9" with the back gathering loosened.
