For sale absolutely mint. Outstanding, unused victorian torchon lace. The length is incredible: 11 yards and 7 inches long. The width is about 2.25 inches. I believe, the style is torchon bobbin lace. It is 100% linen, I guarantee(I can tell the difference)The color is pure white. I was my great grandmothers, and it is been in the family for a long time. This lace was folded in her closet for so many years. She brought it from Belgium more then a century ago. The design is absolutely stunning, look at the pictures and you will see a quality of the lace. This lace has not been used at all. Very strong and picture does not show the beauty of it. In this auction I have a fabulous Old Cotton lace insertion edging which is ecru in colour. The lace measures 5 metres long with an old traditional cluny design. This unique lace is made with quality heavy gauge cotton. This lace is just over 2½" inches wide with one straight and one scalloped edge. We as a family are' Very' proud to be the makers of the lace on Kate Middletons- The Duchess of Cambridges. Royal Wedding Dress and underskirt. We also made the Trims that were on the Bridesmaids dresses on the collar,cuffs and around the bottom of the beautifully made little dresses. Signed"Binarfos" at the bottom center, and blocked along the backside with muslin. Measures overall ~17inX25&1/4in, with the ivory painting scene spanning ~8&1/2inX17in, and is finished all around. This airy and light white lace has a scalloped border and the top of the valance has has a 1 3/8" wide linen edge which is hand sewn in tiny tiny stitches to the lace. Perfect for adding your wood or brass rings! This valance is 94" wide x 9 3/4" deep. Condition: Very good for its age.
