Beautiful Vintage Hand Embroidered Floral Tablecloth T rimmed with Hand Crochet Lace- Roses and Pansies. This vintage tablecloth from my collection of fine Heritage linens has been exquisitely embroidered in a stunning array of colours. The floral design is of full blown vibrant pink roses and their buds with contrasting mauve pansies. Daisies and tiny mauve, pink and white flowers. All reminiscent of an English country garden in summer. The bright green of the foliage, softened in parts, with paler shades is a perfect foil for the other colours the embroiderer has chosen. The embroidery is immaculate so much so that the reverse is almost as neat. Always a sign of an expert. It has been finished with a pretty white hand crochet lace trim. It would make a lovely afternoon tea cloth especially if tiered over another larger piece to show off ... morethe lace edging and laid with pretty china Equally ideal for occasional table use in a country cottage shabby chic situation or as decorative detail in a bedroom or on a wash stand in a bathroom with pretty soaps and bottles. Cream linen tablecloth, very neatly hand embroidered with a daisy garland to the centre. The corners are nicely shaped with intricate flower baskets and further trailing daisies. The needlework is firm and neat with lovely rich colours. The 13th photo shows the reverse side. The edge is finished with a rich cream coloured scalloped crochet. This lovely cloth ... moredoes not appear to have been used. The 12th photo shows 1 inch of unfinished crochet, must have run out of cotton) overall condition is excellent. It is displayed in the photos on a double bed. The crocheted bedspread measures 246 x 250 cm(8'1" x 8'2 1/2" and the the under cover 226 x 226 cm(7'5" x 7'5" The undercover is made of a heavy cotton and is tailored at the base to accommodate the corners. There are a few minor age spots but very light and a bit more of a soak and sunlight should fix these. The crocheted bedspread has one rust mark towards ... morethe edge as shown in the last photo. It is also tailored at the base corners. There were a few detachments in the crochet work but I have attached these and I have gone over the cloth when I was ironing it and couldn't spot any more.
