The sideboard is in amazing condition, with very little sign of wear ... moreat all. It is the original finish and the mirror has the original glass intact. There are a few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece, but I do know that was originally contructed between 1870 and 1899. The sideboard has short reverse scroll feet with beautiful carving that runs up the side supports from the feet. The sideboard has carved accents on the front of the doors, at the outer edges of the large drawer, with matching carved details on the top mirrored frame and pillar supports.

It has a great crest on it. The overall size is 54 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 39 inches high to the marble and 96 inches high to the top. The door compartments are divided with a shelf on each side. There are some specks of white paint on one side where someone must have splattered paint when painting a wall that I am sure would clean up. There are a few pieces of molding missing that aren’t anything major, but I wanted to mention it. Other than three or four little sections with the molding issues, it is in really nice condition.

Measurements are as follows: 84"W x ... more69"T X 24"D. Weight: approx. 150-200lbs. There are a couple of small trim pieces where the backsplash meets the base that are missing, a couple that are loose. The top section of the backsplash has seperated and a couple small pieces of carved trimwork are missing as a result(can be seen in the pics) There is a small a chip on the front left edge of the table surface. One of the locks is missing from one of the doors and there is a stain on the top that can be clearly seen in the photo. Im sure there are other bumps/bruises but nothing glaring. All that having been said, this piece is really stunning in person and all of the condition issues are fairly simple repairs. The flaws I mentioned are only noticed upon close scrutiny and have never been pointed out to me by anyone who has seen it in person. Original finish is in good shape, just as it appears in the photos. The color, in person, is probably somewhere between the lightest and darkest photos. The carving on this piece is AWESOME! The quartersawn grain is heavy and pronounced. Bought this piece and the matching server, which I will be listing soon) to restore but I am out of time/space. I feel I have a reasonable opening bid on this piece but if it does not sell, I will restore it and the price will go up considerably. Personally, im kinda getting burned out on the figurals and winged griffins that usually adorn pieces of this quality so its nice to see a great piece without that typical subject matter. This particular piece has a breakfront where the marble steps out in the middle, carved pillars coming down through the center door, outside doors and right across the top is all burl walnut with dainty inlaid trim. The two doors open on the base to expose a shelf interior. The center is the mirror panel with the pillars and is not a door. You have a double door front and a center with carved pillars. The looking glass is scratched and worn, which adds charm and character. The inlaid appears to be in nice shape.

Being offered for sale is this very Large Victorian Tiger Oak Sideboard/ Buffet with Carved North Wind Faces. Brass North Wind Pulls and Carved Paw Feet circa 1895. This outstanding 19th century sideboard features an abundance of detailed carvings from top to bottom and has three working keys, the original beveled mirrors and the original ornate brass hardware. This sideboard measures a total height from the floor to the top of the carved pediment at the back of 80 inches. With a height to the base at the front of 37 3/4 inches, total width of 59 1/2 inches and depth at the base portion of 24 inches and this massive sideboard weighs approximately 250 lbs and does disassemble into 2 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The fine display shelf measures 59 inches wide by 13 inches deep and is 21 1/2 inches in height from the ... moretop of the base. This tiger oak sideboard is very solid and tight and has a gorgeous presence. The three keys work the locks on the drawers(one key for each drawer) but neither of the keys work the locks on the cabinet doors. The top right drawer does have divided compartments for flatware with newer green felt lining. We believe the large beveled mirrors to be original or at least antique replacements and there is some light spotting and some mild silver loss as common in old mirrors. The top mirror does show a small fracture in the bottom right corner that appears to have been there for sometime and not a major issue in my opinion but there. I have a close up picture of this area. The very front right corner of the sideboard base shows some wear and scuffing please see picture and as common in antiques the top of the sideboard does show some age and usage marks one expects to see on pieces over 100 years old.This outstanding sideboard/ buffet offers a tremendous amount of storage space and is definitely a statement piece to add to your dining area. Being presented for sale is this Superb Victorian Walnut& Burl walnut Brown Marble Top Mirrored back Sideboard/ Buffet with carved Lion heads circa 1880. This 19th century piece is just gorgeous and would surely be a beautiful focal point in your home. This is a impressive sideboard with gorgeous spoon carvings. Finials, carved Lion heads,burl walnut panel accents and a fancy carved scroll and shell gallery as well as the original beautiful brown marble top and the original brass hardware and early dove-tailed ends on the drawers. This sideboard/ buffet measures a total height of 82 1/2 inches( 6 ft 10 1/2 in) to the top of the carvings on the very top center. Height from the floor to the top of the brown marble measures 36 1/2 inches,with a total width of 48 1/4 inches and a depth at the base of 21 1/2 inches and this pieces weighs approximately ... more250 lbs. This sideboard does dis-assemble into 4 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The fine display shelf above the marble measures 26 inches in height above the marble top and the shelf measures 43 inches wide by 11 inches deep.The larger mirror measures 19 inches high by 33 inches wide, and the three mirrors at the top each measure 10 inches wide by 6 inches high. This is a fabulous piece in wonderful antique condition and the original brown marble top is also just beautiful with no apologies we can find. All the locks are intact but the key provided just aids in opening the cabinet doors and does not work the locks. There is a small piece of carving missing on the left side of the pediment inside of one of the scrolls. I have shown a close-up of in the pictures and appears to have been missing for a long time.nothing major in my opinion and definitely doesn't distract from the beauty of this gorgeous 19th century piece. The top right drawer on the inside by the lock is missing a sliver of wood which this cannot be seen unless you open the drawer and left door bottom has a slight hairline which I have shown in a close-up picture also. Here is an Antique Victorian Sideboard/Server/Buffet; Walnut. Inlaid wood, Marble Top, Mirrors 1890's Dovetail construction First.I apologize for the pictures! It's very difficult to take pictures when there is a mirror. And this is a large piece. The pictures do not do this piece justice! This Server is sitting in the back room of my shop, and I just didn't have the room to focus for a picture. The glare is terrible in some of the pics. And the blue showing in the mirror is from a tarp thats hanging in the building. I had the server redone as far as replacing the marble top. And all the drawer pulls. They were replaced with brass ones as close to what might be original as I could find. Two keys are included. As far as I know the mirrors are original. Description Beautifully shaped serpentine fronted Victorian sideboard. A great piece of antique furniture. A real statement piece, large in propotions and wonderfully patinated on it's veneers. I have described it as light restoration as it would benefit from a little TLC. Mainly re-PVAing joints here and there, there are marks on the top and a split along the grain about a foot long. A piece of moulding has come off on one side, but I do have that with it. It could be used exactly as it is, it's not exactly falling to bits, just not as solid as it could be! The piece features three doors on the front which open to reveal shelves. This is a door on the side which opens to reveal a leaf holder. This would have been used to store up to five of the leaves from an extending table. But today could also have other uses. The gorgeous flame mahogany is a wonderful colour which is the result of 150 years of sunlight and can not be reproduced today. This is a rare mahogany Victorian sideboard. It has beautiful flame grained mahogany veneers. The top has shapely openwork galleries dovetailed together and graduated spool turned posts ending in delicate finials.The shelves and base are framed with decorative beaded arrow design moldings. This is a wonderful and scarce 19th Century Victorian Period Children's Toy Walnut Sideboard. It stands approximately 20-1/4" high x 12" wide x 6-1/2" in overall depth. It is in wonderful condition with original finish. Spoon carved decoration and pulls. The construction is primarily nailed with small 19th century square nails. It shows only minor, age appropriate wear with minor losses, as shown in the photos. The mirror is old and very possibly original. ANTIQUE 1870's VICTORIAN RENAISSANCE CARVED MAHOGANY MARBLE TOP SIDEBOARD w/ MIRROR The base is mahogany veneers with solid mahogany carvings. The upper piece above the marble is solid mahogany. There are areas of missing and damaged veneer on the base. The drawer pulls are not original. And the drawer locks have been removed. One of the pads(back left) the base rests on is missing. The spindle detail on the left side of the base under the marble is missing. There is some silver loss to the mirrors. The marble has some staining and a few scratches that don't detract from the piece. The dimensions are 46" wide x 21" deep x 74" tall overall and 39" tall to the top of the marble. This fabulous English oak solid wood sideboard is 2 sections- top and bottom. The bottom has 4 drawers and 3 cupboards- the 2 center drawers are bowed. The cupboard side doors are single and center cupboard is a double door. It features a bowed carved front between the drawers and the center compartment- center cupboard is open up into that bowed area. Original brass"butterfly" hardware with a stylized design- one broken handle on bottom center door. The top section features 3 beveled mirrors and 4 shelves supported by carved columns. There is a sunflower motif on the pediment top center along with multiple carved flowers and leaf designs all over the front. Scrolls along the very top and sides. Take a look at this gorgeous oak triple beveled glass sideboard with multi raised panels. A bulbous design front, paneled sides, multi tapered ... moreturned spindles, and is heavily carved, that dates from the 1890s. This came off a container from Europe, and although it looks American, it is most likely English. It would make a fantastic bathroom sink cabinet, if you could deal with the height of the base, because of the way the base has a carved middle drawer that bows out with ridges and the bulbous carved front. Just across the front of the base it has more than 20 deeply carved raised panels! If you took off the doors and drawer fronts, you could hang them on the wall as works of art. The top of the base doesn’t just have an ogee beveled edge, it has an amazing beveled edge that is twice as wide as normal. It has its original hardware, an applied bracket foot base, and then you look at the top. It has triple mirrors, the two outside large, oval and of beveled glass, and the center mirror of beveled glass with 45-degree corners. There are all kinds of raised panels, and there are candle shelves for lamps, and incredible acanthus carved pillars with cornices on top. Victorian Renaissance 1875 Antique Marble Top Walnut Sideboard Server. This Victorian Renaissance period server. Buffet or sideboard with a marble top was carved of solid walnut and burl about 1875. The rich brown finish is in excellent condition on this American made furniture. Drawers have hand cut dovetails and restored sides to glide smoothly. The left lower door has a warp. See photos. Tennessee Red" marble was polished and sealed to resist stains. Keys are handles only, locks do not operate. Measurements of this imposing antique are 56" wide. 22 1/2" deep and 39 1/2" tall. Wonderfully Carved Victorian Sideboard With Griffins
This is a awesome sideboard! It displays so well in person and is hard to capture in pictures but I'm trying. Carved from top to bottom with deep well defined carvings compliment the case and the upper portion is supported by open mouthed griffins. Super clean flawless white statuary marble top is another great feature. Just completed a total refinishing job and is as good as you will find. Very impressive for its size! Fancy Victorian Tiger Oak Sideboard Buffet with Paw Feet& Full Columns c1890's Being presented for sale is this Fancy Carved Victorian Tiger Oak& Straight Grained Oak Buffet/ Sideboard with detailed ornate carvings. Carved paw front feet and tiger oak full columns circa 1890's.This antique buffet features an abundance of beautiful carvings from top to bottom and offers a great amount of storage with its three drawers at the center over a large long drawer with cabinet space on each side. Beautiful applied carvings accent the shaped pediment that rises above the long display shelf above the original beveled mirror. Full tiger oak columns serve as shelf supports with candle shelves midway. Lovely laurel leaf carvings adorn cabinet doors with additional carvings found on the long drawer below with the base boasting of egg& ... moredart carvings across the front.This piece has period dove-tailed ends on the drawers and we believe the hardware to be original. Measurements: 75 inches high to top of pediment 35 1/2 inches high to base 48 inches wide 24 inches deep Display shelf measures 47 1/2 inches wide by 11 inches deep weighs approximately 150 lbs. All the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some cloudiness and streaking as common in old mirrors but not severe enough to warrant replacing in my opinion. Whimsical R.J.Horner carved quarter-sawn oak American Victorian sideboard
Well. This piece is a little out in left field for me- I generally deal in more traditional, classical sort of formal Georgian or Federal pieces, but I couldn't resist the whimsy of this piece, to say nothing of the underlying quality. I bought it on impulse, as I was charmed by(and a little taken aback with) the rather cross-looking hand-carved'sun' on the back of this Victorian mirrored-back sideboard. The Victorian quirkiness carries through to a series of small beveled round'porthole' type mirrors up top, and some rather inspired organic whippy details each side of the half-round beveled mirror. There are a series of three drawers. Also profusely carved, with a larger drawer center and below. Cupboards flank to each lower side- no carving on their doors, but the doors are solid quarter-sawn white oak, not veneer. It ... morewas only when I was moving the piece that I found the small enameled button label- there are losses to the top. But it clearly identifies the maker as R.J. Horner. Now, a confession- I knocked the bloody thing off when moving the sideboard, so the button is loose, as you can see- I took a photo of it next the spot on the back where it was mounted, and thankfully there's a'shadow' of oxidation to confirm it was there( and the nail which held it in place remains) This is just a fun. If slightly silly high-Victorian piece, of surprising quality. The serving surface, sides, door and drawer fronts, and upper shelf are all solid oak- secondary wood seems to be beech. It's possible that the beveled half-round mirror has been replaced- it looks very clean; by comparison the upper small round mirrors have minor blemishes. Overall the piece measures 53" wide. 20" deep, and 81" tall overall( 39" to the serving surface) I'll ship from Bellingham WA- we'll have to work out the details. But'Plycon' seems to be a good'go-to' shipper. Could be 400. 600. if across the Country.

This fine 19th century buffet/sideboard features beautiful shell carvings. Large button roundels and the Carpathian Elm burl on the doors,drawers and accents pieces is outstanding. We believe this piece to have its original mirrors and its original brass hardware with pin& cove dove-tailing on the drawer ends.
