This hand-carved. Oak buffet was built in the 1930's, at the height of the Art Deco craze, in France. The unit is in two pieces(for easy moving/ shipping) including glass display case(seen on top of the buffet) which has bevelled glass with mirrored shelves and backing. It has three drawers. A lockable cabinet beneath which has three doors AND A WORKING KEY; cabinet space includes adjustable shelf.

Vtg COPPER PETRI DISH CANISTER & RACK Chemistry Biology Lab- Antique (PRE1920S)
This is a unique. Hard-to-find laboratory item used in a biology setting the first part of the century. The canister appears to be solid copper and the rack has a copper bottom and appears to have brass sides. The interior rack will hold a dozen petri dishes, these dishes grew cultures and were required to be sterile before using. They were placed in the rack, then the tight fitting lid was put in place. The canister was then placed in a hot steam environment to make sterile the petri dishes so they could be used for growing cultures. Nine petri dishes are included. The copper canisters were replaced by stainless steel which was invented by 1915. It is nine inches tall and five inches across. Please email me if you have any questions before bidding.

It's big! It's beautiful! And as you can tell from all the descriptive terms in the listing title. I'm not sure of the exact age and style. I ran out of room in the description or I would have added European and Jugendstihl to the mix. We have had it for 5-6 years and it came from an estate, so we couldn't get any history about it. We never worried much about exactly what it's pedigree was, because it was such a great piece. It does have areas that could use restoration and I've got about half a gig of pictures that show all in great detail. I can email you additional photos. The upper cabinet has three doors with glass and the center glass has that very pretty arts and crafts design. There are lighter wood inlay designs in the bottom of the two outer doors. The upper cabinet has a removable shelf. The counter top ... moreis a piece of marble. It is in one piece but there is a fracture line running diagonal that's hard to see in the photo, which might be a natural part of the grain. Below the counter and above the two drawers is a slide out extension. The two drawers below it are nice and roomy. The two big doors on the bottom open to a huge interior storage area that has a shelf dividing it into upper and lower areas. The front has the lighter wood designs on the doors and the curved portion of the front facing portion of the sides. The additional pictures I have show the details so much better. The doors and drawers have locks, but the keys didn't come with it. I've never shipped anything of this size, but I know a Pack and Ship company that can take care of this. I'll get you a quote if you send me an address. Though it's large, the top comes off and the marble counter comes out, so it actually becomes manageable for 2-3 guys to move. What a find! What an amazing focal furniture piece. The top/counter measures length 4 feet. If you include side bars it measures 4 feet 3 inches. The width is 18 inches and the height is 2 feet 5& 5/8 inches. The bottom is marked weathered cherry but I was unable to find any makers marks. The cart rolls smoothly and the doors open like new. There is a single shelf inside perfect for storage. The hardware is brass but the rolling casters are a gold/chrome. The chrome blends with the gold and I didn't notice until this listing and feel it's a beautiful visual detail that shouldn't go unnoticed. The top is marble and it does come with a glass top but I wanted to post without the glass top because the detail of the marble I find way to beautiful to have the glass reflection alter in any way. Old possum table. It's in very nice condition. The hutch part just sits on top of the enamel table top. The enamel table top has some wear but it is an antique piece so it really adds to the look and appearance. The enamel has some staining and some chipping along the edges on the wrap. There is a breadboard pull-out just above the bottom drawers beneath the table top. The bottom drawer bottoms are metal and I believe are made of tin but I am not an antique dealer so don't know for sure.
