It is French from the 1880's- 1920(French revival period? It is solid oak or walnut It has brass hardware Also noted is that there are no known problems with the piece- nothing on it is broken. One key is included The hutch is 8 ft high. 21" deep, and 57" wide at the widest The bottom part is 36" high by 52" wide There is one shelf inside the bottom part and then the bottom shelf. It measures 15 1/2" deep The top part is 51" high by 52" wide. The top part has 2 shelves inside plus the bottom. These shelves measure 9" deep. There is an ornate plate rack on the back of the serving surface. There are beautiful. Ornate carvings ... moreon all areas of this beautiful piece. There are elegant brass drawer pulls. Description*PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING* Item: Remarkable Antique 2 Piece 19th Century Carved Walnut French Renaissance Sideboard with Ornately Carved Door Fronts. Features: Solid carved walnut. The ogee crest over triple carved doors on a base with two frieze dovetailed drawers over double cupboard doors with floral relief carving, flanked by turned and reeded columns, the whole on bun feet. The unit comes apart in 2 pieces making moving very manageable. Age: Circa 19th Century. France Measurements: 88" H(total height) 56" W, 22" D. The top section measures 38.5" H and the lower section measures approx 49.5" H Condition: I tem is in very good antique condition being structurally sound and sturdy with normal signs of age appropriate use/wear as pictured including some splits to the wood on the top surface as seen ... morein image#13 and 14 below. One piece of corner molding is missing on the lower right door front as seen in image#5 below. All of the doors are currently unlocked but the current locks are not in working order and we do not have a key. Some locks may need to be replaced if desired. There is one area of veneer damage and a minor repair as pictured in image#22 below on the left side of the cabinet which is minor. Overall a very beautiful and stately antique piece. The whole heavily decorated with figures. The two doors on the right part of the sideboard having two carved figures in the center. One of a monk, the other of a nobleman. They are both looking at each other. The left side of the sideboard has two doors, one a carved figure of a queen, the other a nun. All of these were of high social status in midieval Europe and thus these figures are placed above a multitude of carved figures depicting the serfs or commoners. 19th C 1865 Antique French Renaissance Carved Walnut Sideboard
This is a beautiful. Solid walnut side board from France made in circa 1865. It stands 8' tall, 54 inches wide, the bottom is 23 inches deep and the top is 16 inches deep. It breaks down into 5 pieces for moving. The original round"feet" are still with it making it 8' 3" tall. Even the supports inside are made of Walnut. FRENCH ANTIQUE RENAISSANCE MARBLE TOP SERVER - 1880-1900's
This piece was in a shop in Willow Glen. San Jose, CA, It was stored out-side prior to our purchase in 2009 and in pretty rough shape. We bought the piece and had it restored professionally by A-1 Furniture Refinishing in San Jose. The piece is stunning with rich walnut, a marble top and original handles. The piece is hand crafted not mass manufactured. There are similar pieces, but I have not been able to find another one exactly like it. The only thing missing is the Pediment top, but as you can see from the photos, missing that piece does not take away from the beauty of the piece. It is very heavy. So to ensure no damage we are asking for it to be picked up rather than shipped. The only reason for selling it now is the need for storage rather than display.
