Inspired by the designs of Boulle under Louis XIV, this ebonized mahogany cabinet features extensive ormolu bronze mounts and brass marquetry. Lower cabinet doors open to reveal two shelves with old red velvet and the Druce and Co. nameplate. The upper cabinet features glazed and curved glass side panels and glazed doors and two adjustable shelves. Overall condition is good. There is a crack with losses to the brass in the upper left section of the lower left door, and other minor cracks to the brasses. There is a narrow vertical crack on the left side of the cabinet, and a few missing mounts, including the reed-and-tie border to the upper window on the right side, and the glass is cracked in the upper panel as well. Here is an exquisite. Massive, Antique 19th cent. American(probably Horner) quarter sawn oak sideboard buffet server. Straight out of a Long Island estate. Was in the same family for 70 years. This piece was made around 1880 and represents carved oak at its best. Incredibly carved with lions' heads. Paws, ribbons, and scrolls. Doors are all carved scrolls with center cartouche. They are separated by 2 columns of carved ribbons and fruit. The drawers above have handles of lions' faces. The top is crowned with an incredible lion head. The only condition issues are a small ring stain and a darker area on the top front right. Also a thin slit in the wood appx 18 inch long. These are very minor and can easily be fixed. Skeleton key lock in perfect working order. The detail if the spindles and the upper hand carved piece are exquisite. The marble is approximately 1/4 inch thick and is recessed into the top. It is flush with the top. This piece is solid wood and doesn't appear to have been refinished or altered from it original state. The exact date of this piece is unknown. As you can see it has a lovely patination. Quality fielded and carved panels along with nicely balustraded shelves, the drawers are fully oak lined. The top of the sideboard has opened up a little( see photo) due to shrinkage commensurate with a piece of furniture of this age but does not affect its function. Selling a beautiful antique French Provincial side board with wood/glass upper displays(you are buying the entire piece as shown) We recently purchased several large pieces from a local winery that is changing ownership and renovating their tasting room. All of the pieces were originally brought in at a great expense from France to showcase wine. While we love this piece. It is too large for our small shop and we are selling it. It is currently being used to display some of our antique porcelains. This is a very large and intricately carved sideboard/cabinet. It was made in two pieces- upper and lower half due to the large overall size. It is made of pine and white oak with beautiful carvings throughout. It dates to about 1880. The bottom section is 33” deep and the top section is 18“ deep. The 4 winged griffins that hold the top section are 14" high. This is the first antique I ever collected beginning in 1982. It was purchased from the Antique Guild in Los Angeles, CA. One key opens and locks the two doors at the bottom, two drawers in the middle and two glass doors at the top. There is a bit of filler in one spot and a nick or more if one looks closely. See the pictures for a more detailed look. The two most notable spots are highlighted. Also, there is a missing finial. English Regency Style Mahogany Sideboard on Spade Feet c. Antique 19th Century
ENGLISH REGENCY STYLE MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD OF DIMINUTIVE PROPORTIONS A highly desirable size at only 48 3/8" wide Predominantly c. 1st Quarter of the 19th Century Item# 1408ZSQ10A An outstanding piece for anyone with a smaller dining space. This piece is probably at least somewhat altered in order to make it more desirable for such areas. We would assume it was altered or composed during the late 19th Century using a period sideboard from the first years of the 19th Century, lending it all of the patina and vivid craftsmanship we cherish in period objects while allowing it to be suitable for the modern dining room of that era. Few period sideboards are of the right size to aesthetically work with the average dining room, but this piece is of the perfect dimensions to do so. The craftsmanship is impeccable with bold and well selected crotch ... moremahogany veneers on the drawer and flanking doors. These protected by cockbead molding around the edges and over the hand dovetailing of the drawer. The cast Lion Mask pulls are correct for the period but are later replacements using the same holes. The frame from beneath shows the exposed dovetailing that joins the frame permanently, the entire piece resting over tapered legs on spade feet. While this is not a good choice for the purist collector. It is an absolutely fabulous sideboard for anyone with a more petite dining room space who loves the warmth and wear of a early objects. It is in outstanding condition and will certainly be a cherished part of your dining room for a lifetime. Measurements: 48 3/8" W x 23 3/8" D x 36 1/8" H Condition Report: Probably at least partially altered using 19th Century components. Top replaced, pulls are replacements in the same holes, old gouge to right side of the case(well oxidized with a nice patina) chip beneath drawer. Sturdy and strong. This listing is for an antique 19th century French carved credenza/ buffet. The piece is made of expertly carved wood with a original red marble top and back piece. It has 3 drawers and 3 cabinet doors for storage. As well as a cubby. Fresh from local Estate. An extraordinary item, Palatial Size Antique 19th C French Gilt Carved Marble Top Center CONSOLE. There is a maker's original label under the marble bearing the name Barbie/Ebeniste/ Bordeaux. Great original gold finish! High quality example, Royal appearance, sleek and sexy. Carvings are top notch, piece is rock solid for use. Sophisticated construction, four high carved legs, connected with a stretcher featuring a center classical urn carving, pierce carved the entire the top skirt. Antique 19th c English inlaid brandy board server small sideboard mahogany
A 19th century English brandy board in mahogany veneer with oak secondary. With three drawers(one cellarette) and one cabinet door. It measures just shy of 34" tall, about 44-7/8" wide, and about 20-1/4" deep. There are remnants of a paper label, but we do not know the maker. There is overall normal surface wear commensurate with age and use, including some dings and scratches found commonly on antique furniture. There is some loss to the veneer(most notably on the front to the right hand side on the top edge and the edge of the left front foot) There is also a drying line on the left side of the piece(pictured) It also looks like parts of the bottom may have been replaced/refinished. All of the locks are present, but we do not have the key. Please view the images as an extension of the description. Antique French sideboard 19th Century Tiger Oak Beveled Glass & Brass
This is a very charming Antique French sideboard from the mid-late 19th Century made of Tiger oak. Medium color with beautiful beveled glass on the upper door fronts as well as a beveled mirror on the center. It features carved brass detailing throughout and on the door pulls. There is shelving in both the upper and lower cabinets. The upper and lower components detach for easier transport. This was imported from a shop in France. Great craftsmanship, phenomenal quality, beautiful quality rich vivid color wood. Featuring four sexy curved Louis XV high legs, decorated on corners with dore bronze mounts. Bottom tier is made of parquetry inlaid kingswood, all framed with a bronze band. Featuring handles on the far ends, hence giving it an appearance of a large tray. Top tier is unusually a slab of gorgeous extinct Sienna marble, propped on 4 dore bronze posts featuring babies/ putti/ cherub coming out of the scroll. Condition is good, well preserved and clean. Antique French 7 Ft Walnut Sideboard late 19th century
Offered for sale is an antique French carved walnut sideboard that is 7 ft long. 39" high and 21 1/2" deep. It was made in France in the late 1800's. It has four drawers above four doors. The front top edges are rounded en ding on larger round stepped feet. The bottom has a beautiful serpentine skirt joining the feet. This large sideboard offers loads of storage. Filled peg holes on the top indicate that this may have once had a top. A beautiful sideboard to grace any wall or room!
