I am unsure of the age of the cabinet, but I would guess that it dates to the early ... moreto mid-19th Century. It is made of what I believe is walnut, and has hand crafted, pressed, and hammered copper panels in the doors, drawer fronts, and top molding. It has lion head accents in both the copper panels and the wood, as well as detailed carved accents and brass rings hanging from several of the lion heads. There are a couple of the wooden lion heads that are damaged, with the lower jaw and brass ring broken off and missing. There is one brass ring still present with the cabinet, that could possibly be re-attached. The wood on the inside of the drawer is beginning to split at the back bottom, as can be seen in the photos.

This well proportioned sideboard has a moulded edge top over a single frieze drawer and recessed cupboard flanked by further fielded panel cupboard doors and is raised on a plinth base. 18th Century Hand Carved Walnut Continental Breakfront SideBoard
This majestic royal breakfront was purchased in the 1960's and had been in the same household since then. It has only been moved 3 times in 50-54 years. It was purchased from an antique dealer on the central California coast near Hearst castle. It is finely carved and the only similar carved furniture I have seen like it are in the Vatican Museum and the Academia museum in Venice Italy. This is a two piece breakfront. 2-3 men can lift it. The carving is finer than 19th century carving so I am leaning towards 18th century or earlier. The scene depicted is a finely carved King. Queen and their court. The carvings on the bottom on the doors are monks. This is the only one in the world. The King and court and the Monks heads on the bottom tell me that this may have been carved for a royal household or for the church. William Hurst brought ... morea lot of fine antiques over from Europe in the 1920's. It is possible a few were sold that he was displeased with. To have a piece like this in the USA is unusual because of the Royal theme and the quality of the carving. This is a local pickup only. The measurement are: Width 84" Depth 21 1/2" Height 93" The drawers have been lined for sterling service and the shelves lined also for china and crystal services. On this piece I will not accept a return. This is highly specialized for the right decorator or owner. Serious offers only. Anyone else will be blocked. There is a key: I have to see if the key I have is it. If not a good locksmith can make one for the antique locks. It needs to be oiled regularly 2-3 times a year

Antique Carved Solid Walnut China Closet Breakfront Sideboard - Circa 1850
Absolutely stunning solid walnut carved china closet. I have owned this piece for the last 38 years. Sadly. It is time to downsize and this piece simply cannot come with me. It originally came out of an old estate in Beloit, Wisconsin. It has no real finish on it. I have kept the wood oiled and natural. The glass is all original to the piece. The corners are hand blown round glass that fit perfectly into the scrolling. Everyone who ever came into my home admired it-a piece of art really. Overall. It measures 8'10" tall x 5' 6" wide. The bottom piece is 43.25" tall x 66.25" wide x 23" deep. The top is 62" tall x 65.5" wide x 17.5" deep. I measured from the widest parts(trim pieces included) I have all the original keys, but some of the locks no longer function as they should. It comes apart into ... more2 pieces for moving, but each piece is still very heavy. I would describe this piece as being in very good to excellent vintage condition. I hope you will fall in love with it as I did. I have never seen a piece to rival it and I was an avid antique shopper. Looks great in a foyer. Dining area or living room. Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Rosewood Breakfront sideboard Magnificent
Your looking at a magnificent Victorian rosewood breakfront circa 1875. It is inlaid to death with exotic woods and the doors have heavy beveled glass as shown. Has a few minor condition issues-one small piece of glass missing on the top left door(bottom of door) with some molding missing. And there is a small column that needs to be put back in place. These issues are minor considering the age of the piece and the overall condition of the piece is fine with ORIGINAL finish. It measures a full 5 feet wide and 93 inches tall. The piece is fairly heavy as its all rosewood. No inlay or marquetry missing as evidenced in the not so good pics. Sorry about the glare. Your welcome to come and inspect the piece as it must be picked up. I can have arrangements to have it shipped but it won't be cheap.
