Up for your consideration is this very impressive piece that has been in our family for 40 years. It was bought from an antique store and were told the following at that time. It is French from the 1880's- 1920(French revival period? It is solid oak or walnut It has brass hardware Also noted is that there are no known problems with the piece- nothing on it is broken. One key is included The hutch is 8 ft high. 21" deep, and 57" wide at the widest The bottom part is 36" high by 52" wide There is one shelf inside the bottom part and then the bottom shelf. It measures 15 1/2" deep The top part is 51" high by 52" wide. The top part has 2 shelves inside plus the bottom. These shelves measure 9" deep. There is an ornate plate rack on the back of the serving surface. There are beautiful. Ornate carvings ... moreon all areas of this beautiful piece. There are elegant brass drawer pulls. This mid 19th century sideboard has all the wonderful craftsmanship one expects from 19th century pieces and this one is positively beautiful. This sideboard measures 58 inches tall from the floor to the top of the sides of the chimney back-splash. 48 inches in height to the top of the front,62 1/2 inches wide and 25 3/4 inches deep and weighs approximately 200 lbs. All of the locks are intact on this piece but the key provided just aids in opening the doors at the base. Breathtaking huge Austrian ornately carved solid oak sideboard buffet cupboard
This once-in-a- lifetime piece has been lovingly cared for all of its' life-125 years-and its' condition shows it. The original finish glows and the gleaming brass handles. Hinges and locks accentuate the magnificent hand carving-people, gargoyles, leaves, acanthus, practically a catalogue of the woodcarver's Art. We have owned it for almost 40 years and it is a treasured part of our household. But, time moves on and we are down-sizing. We were told. When we were living in Germany, that during the wars, pieces like this were wrapped in oilcloth and buried out on the grounds to protect them. They certainly weren't in any danger of being carried off! The measurements of this piece are: 10 8 inches(9' tall by 8 2 inches wide by 3 2 inches deep. It needs at least 10 foot ceilings and a nine foot wide wall to look right. But-oooohhh ... morethe storage! There are four. 26 inch deep drawers for silver, placemats, candles and tablecloths. Four cupboards, down below, hold all your china, platters, bowls and vases. Up above, the two-door cupboard holds crystal and glassware and the open shelves show off your collections. The gargoyle, up on top, points out the carving that identifies it as having been built in 1888. This piece, all together, weighs about 1200 pounds-but it comes apart in four pieces-the bottom buffet, the beautiful, perfectly preserved black flecked marble, the upper cupboard and the gargoyle's box pediment, up on top. At more than 9.5' wide. 6' tall, and 23" deep this massive decorative oak(I think) piece is absolutely amazing to look at. I recently moved from an much larger house and really do not have the room for this any more. This is HEAVILY carved and EXTREMELY decorative. The top section comes off for moving, but the bottom half will require at least 4 men to move it. This piece has 7 locking doors. 4 drawers and 9 beautifully carved unique outdoor scenes. There is one shelf running the length of the top and one behind the doors on the bottom. This truly must be seen to be fully appreciated. I am not sure of the age. But some have estimated 1860's. There are no obvious markings indicating origin or age. Overall the piece is in very very ... moregood condition. There are two areas of damage. On the very top there is a crack and some damage on the underside of the top concealed behind the right pillar. I can email you additional pictures if interested in seeing anything else. A very fine antique. Circa 1840, Empire solid mahogany, and flame mahogany veneers, linen press, or sideboard. The front has two carved half round acanthus leaf columns with capitols, the front legs carved as paw feet. There are two top drawers with flame mahogany veneers, mahogany knobs. One drawer is velver lined for flatware. The drawer interiors are maple, the bottoms chamfered. The doors below are veneer fronted, and open to a divided compartment with one stationary shelf( shelf to left side missing. The top is one solid mahogany board, a horizontal crack long its middle. The case side single boards are solid mahogany without cracks. The only venneer loss is by one capitol(see photo. The furniture measures 3'5" 41" tall by 4' 48" wide by 2' 24" deep. Elizabethan Solid Wood, Antique, Heavily Carved Buffet / Sideboard / Cabinet
At more than 9.5' wide. 6' tall, and 23" deep this massive decorative Brazilian oak(So I have been told) piece is absolutely amazing to look at. I recently moved from an much larger house and really do not have the room for this any more. This is HEAVILY carved and EXTREMELY detailed. The top section comes off for moving. But the bottom half will require at least 4-6 men to move it. This piece has 7 locking doors. 4 drawers and 9 beautifully carved unique outdoor scenes. There is one shelf running the length of the top and one behind the doors on the bottom. This is all hand-made. It truly must be seen to be fully appreciated. I am not sure of the age. But one professional assessment put it in the Elizabethan period. There are no obvious markings indicating origin or age. Overall the piece is in very very good condition. This board has a exceptional center butlers section with 4 fitted silver drawers that can be pulled completely out and put back. Antique Carved Solid Walnut China Closet Breakfront Sideboard - Circa 1850
Absolutely stunning solid walnut carved china closet. I have owned this piece for the last 38 years. Sadly. It is time to downsize and this piece simply cannot come with me. It originally came out of an old estate in Beloit, Wisconsin. It has no real finish on it. I have kept the wood oiled and natural. The glass is all original to the piece. The corners are hand blown round glass that fit perfectly into the scrolling. Everyone who ever came into my home admired it-a piece of art really. Overall. It measures 8'10" tall x 5' 6" wide. The bottom piece is 43.25" tall x 66.25" wide x 23" deep. The top is 62" tall x 65.5" wide x 17.5" deep. I measured from the widest parts(trim pieces included) I have all the original keys, but some of the locks no longer function as they should. It comes apart into ... more2 pieces for moving, but each piece is still very heavy. I would describe this piece as being in very good to excellent vintage condition.
