Not 100% sure what type of wood, we have seen it described as mahogany, walnut, or stained beech in other listings. In overall very good condition, with some small bits of veneer loss as shown. One chip is gone from the bottom of a leg as shown-could be easily obscured with stain. This is a really stunning and rare piece to have in your collection! First in my grandma's house while growing up and then in my own home for about the past 30 years. I was told that it was custom-made and that it is one-of-a-kind. I would describe the style as subtle art deco. I have used it as a sideboard/credenza/buffet/chest as well as storage in an office, where it received constant compliments. It is wonderfully well-made in a very subtle art deco/craftsman/eclectic design that will actually work well with and complement many styles of furniture, including mid-century modern, arts& crafts, Eames era, and craftsman. I have been told by a carpenter with knowledge of wood, that it is a fine grade of teak, with beautiful dovetailing and separations between the drawer compartments ... moreand cabinet sections. One of the two side drawers is lined with green felt and partitioned to accommodate serving pieces or silverware. On each side, under the small top drawers, is a door behind which is open storage with two levels. In the center are three drawers, one shallower drawer at the top and two deeper drawers below. It is designed so that the center section with the drawers is gracefully indented between a slightly wider section on each end, with the drawers and open storage. The corners solid wood top are gracefully rounded, as is the place where the center section curves out to meet the wider sides. The hardware is beautifully simple and well designed. It is in very good to excellent vintage/antique condition. With smoothly sliding drawers and very little in the way of surface cosmetic concerns. All the joints are. Dimensions: Width is 62-1/2 inches. The two outer sections are 21 inches deep. The center section is 19-1/2 inches deep. Height is 33-3/4 inches. Inside the doors. Presenting: Rasmus Danish Modern Glass Front China Display Cabinet Hutch Fantastic Teak finish Lighted upper cabinet with glass shelves and glass doors Base cabinet with slide out drawers on the left side The top cabinet sits on top of the base cabinet and you can use the base cabinet separately as a credenza if you so wish The base cabinet is 61-1/2" wide x 19" deep x 32-1/4" high overall The top cabinet is 58" wide x 15" deep x 39-1/4" ... morehigh overall The whole thing is 71-1/2" high, Condition Details: It is in great condition overall. It looks very nice. If you look closely for flaws. You'll see the following issues. See the pictures. The top cabinet has a few chips to the edge of the vaneer on the left side where it comes in contact with the base cabinet. The finish on the left and right sides has some wear. Kind of like fading or weathering down toward the bottom. This is more visible in bright light. The base cabinet has several scratches on top and one good scrape due to the top cabinet being pushed around when put on top or adjusted over the years. The majority(including the scrape) is hidden by the top cabinet and what emerges out from under the top cabinet faded quite a bit when I applied Old English polish. Check out the pictures. The right hand cabinet door was pulled off and reattached at some point. This can be seen if you're looking for it(see my picture) The door looks fine. There are a couple hinges out of adjustment on the top cabinet doors as shown. The lights all work. The left hand one has a push switch. We installed 60 watt bulbs because that's what we had on hand. Unlike most vintage Danish credenzas, the dimensions and storage design on this make for THE MOST PERFECT entertainment center possible. Sure any vintage credenza can hold a TV but if you really want that big plasma or LCD at eye level, most credenzas raise your TV up a bit too high.not this one! Even still, for most people, raising the height of their TV is not a deal breaker so we will let that one go. Now, when it comes to putting your stereo and TV equipment inside a standard credenza, that is where the big problems start. Many simply do not have a deep enough interior for a full size stereo receiver etc. this one does! It is almost like the designer ... moreof this piece visualized ahead into the future from the 1960s and knew exactly what people of 2013 were going to need. In reality. This would have been used as a low buffet sideboard in its day, so it certainly does not have to be used as an entertainment center. It would right home in any room for any type of storage. Its is long and low giving off a really nice modernist zen vibe. The piece features a wide spacious open storage area in the middle with a full length single drop open door flanked by four pull out drawers at the sides. The top two drawers each have sliding/ removable teak tray inserts that float above the drawers bottom and provide additional organizational storage. Top drawers are a bit shallower in height then the drawers under them and the top drawers and sliding trays are flocked with green felt.
