This one has fabric panels in the doors and two interior shelves. All under a long drawer. The figuring in the rosewood is just gorgeous and the piece retains an original finish. It measures 52" wide by 51 1/2" high by 18" deep. It is in very good condition overall. ANTIQUE SOLID OAK BUTLERS HUTCH SIDEBOARD CHINA BUFFET CIRCA LATE 1700
18th century solid oak Butlers Hutch This was purchased over 30 years ago at the Antique Buyers guild( The old Helms Bakery L.A) We where told at the time of the purchase that it dates to the late 1700's and was made in the Adam period French in origin. It is a impressive piece of furniture. It is all hand carved solid oak. The cabinets each have one shelf inside bottom is sagging so I placed a piece of hard board in there. It has a incredible dark patina. It measures approx. 94 1/2" tall 47" wide under 24" deep The hutch is attached to the base using dowels So it lifts off the base From what I remember they only stick out a inch You need at least a 8' ceiling. My home was built in the late 1940's so the ceilings are 8'2" a newer home might be a tight fit. Years ago because I was concerned about earthquakes ... moreI attached 2) 2"x4"s to the back to make it sturdier. They are stained to match. So for those of you with a tight fit. I think it could be set up without the dowels across the back because of the 2" x4"s the 2 spindles in the front supporting the hutch also come off. There are dowels sticking out both ends. You could leave one end in and maybe put a screw trough the bottom. One other modification I noticed will up inside the cabinet is that wood was added on both sides under the base's top( I would guess the top may have been sagging under the weight of the Hutch) hence the addition. There are 2 small dowels missing on the rail on the inside( good place) hardly noticeable. One small piece gone off the top. Again hardly noticeable. I didn't catch it when I bought it. Other then that as you can see it is impressive without being over bearing. I don't need to sell so I don't plan on dropping my prices. This price is what I want to part with it. Offered here is a gorgeous Antique French Carved Walnut Buffet circa 1880. This piece features the crest with Northwind mask. Then upper cabinet with foliate carved panels and display shelf raised on baluster form supports over a three drawer, three door base cabinet similarly relief carved with fruit filled urns and foliate panels. This beautiful buffet measures 110" high x 76" wide x 23" deep and would be the focal piece of any room. The piece is in very nice condition, but it does have a few flaws expected in a piece its age. Being offered for sale is this fabulous Southern Empire Victorian Transitional Solid Walnut Sideboard with A Fine Chimney Back-splash and detailed fruit carvings circa 1850's. This mid 19th century sideboard has all the wonderful craftsmanship one expects from 19th century pieces and this one is positively beautiful. This sideboard measures 58 inches tall from the floor to the top of the sides of the chimney back-splash. 48 inches in height to the top of the front,62 1/2 inches wide and 25 3/4 inches deep and weighs approximately 200 lbs. All of the locks are intact on this piece but the key provided just aids in opening the doors at the base. Tidewater Virginia Child Size Sideboard Circa 1850 Original Finish Inset Panel
A very small possibly child size handmade sideboard from the Tidewater area of Virginia. It only measures 33 3/4 inches at top of backsplash. Top is only 28 inches off the floor. 14 1/2 inches x 27 1/2 at top. Interior is 12 inches deep on bottom shelf and 11 1/2 inches deep on middle shelf. Handles appear to be carved and have no attachment bolts so I am unsure how they are attached. The drawer is dove tailed front and back with raised panel bottom. It was used for paint storage at one time so there are paint remnant to interior of drawer. Both handles are tight and free of damage. The backsplash is attached with 2 slotted screws that look original. 2 front doors have inset panels with a lock and escutcheon in good condition. No key unfortunately. Interior has a hook and left door has eye for closure. Interesting side note: interior bottom ... morehas 2 tin patches around legs for blocking entrance from the critters. Unsure of the type wood but I wood guess Pine. In very good condition with a very old if not original finish that has Alligatored in areas. Another interesting feature on this I did not notice at first is the front corner edges are rounded. Perhaps for protecting small children from harm. I have not seen this before. Believe to date from the 1840-1860 time Reid because of the type of construction. No damage to note but is being sold as is with local pick up or delivery for small fee to within 100 miles of Mathews county Virginia. Here is an absolutely spectacular find from an old Charleston family estate auction and in very nice condition for it's age. a circa 1870's in the Style of Adams Revival(part of the Regency Revival movement from 1880 to 1920) when the expanding middle class became attracted to the light and elegant designs. As a contrast to the heavier and more cluttered interiors which had dominated their homes during the second half of the 19th century. Typical of Style of Adam pieces, this sideboard has Classical Roman decorative motifs, such as framed medallions, urns and floral swags. This delightful sideboard incorporated beautiful flame mahogany and crotch mahogany veneers into the absolutely perfect mantle across the back and the front door panels. MONUMENTAL ANTIQUE NEW YORK FEDERAL HEPPLEWHITE CIRCA 1790'S INLAID MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD. Size: 75.5" wide x 39.25" high and 32.75" deep. A very fine piece of furniture. A very large piece of early American furniture. Sets on castors. There is some inlay and veneer missing as shown. The banded cuffs show losses. The fan inlaid corners are quite wonderful and the form in general is massive yet very attractive. This piece would have been expensive in the day. Brasses appear to be old replacements. Rare Antique Mahogany Victorian Sideboard What Not Buffet Circa 1870's
This is a rare mahogany Victorian sideboard. It has beautiful flame grained mahogany veneers. The top has shapely openwork galleries dovetailed together and graduated spool turned posts ending in delicate finials.The shelves and base are framed with decorative beaded arrow design moldings. The dovetailed drawer has a desk and inkwell cubbies inside.There is an age crack in the desk top(inside the drawer) The cabinet base has the original shelf. This piece is a very desirable and rare diminutive size. The craftsmanship is outstanding.It has a lovely patina. The sideboard shows some minor age appropriate wear including the age cracks in the veneer on the right side of the base. This Circa 1865 Sideboard is really beautiful. I had it restored to it's original beauty. It is very solid and hand carved with Brass handles- all original. The mirror is original. Size is approximately 51" Wide X 77" High X 25" Deep. I am not sure of the wood type. But I believe it is either Mahogany or Walnut. This is a work of art by a wonderful craftsman. The Drawers are hand cut in front and pegged in back. I had this piece restored and paid over $2500 for the restoration alone. This piece is valued at $4200. This is a sacrifice. A fine inlaid antique Hepplewhite sideboard with desk, circa 1775-1790
This fine Hepplewhite mahogany sideboard was built in Philadelphia for my ancestors who lived in Alexandria. VA. In the 1960's my father had it lovingly restored. The faceboard drawer folds down to create a roomy useable desk with several smaller drawers and cubby holes. Behind the central door on the desk is a hidden compartment where the butler kept the keys to the wine and liquor cabinet on the left side of the sideboard. Satinwood veneer is used to decorate the legs and for bellflower motifs on the lower part of the legs. Very good condition; original locks not operable. A very elegant English George III mahogany bowfront sideboard with dazzling cross-banded satinwood top and three line inlays. Circa 1800, with the rare inclusion of the original“lion’s head” pulls. The drawers repeat the pattern of the top and are accented with corresponding exuberant satinwood borders. The case rest on six tapered legs that terminate in spade feet. Ancient, old surface with outstanding patina, untouched by time with no notable repairs. This was museum quality work of the very highest skill set. The case is accented with figured mahogany panels with Holly wood bordered inlay. Big bell flower inlays in satin& ebony woods. The entire outer leading edge of its case is totally outline with tightly patterned satinwood and ebony with ebony bordering all its drawers facings and center structure. Each right& left sides are formed in the"swelled" manner while its right and left cabinet doors continue to graceful round in meeting its top center drawer with felt lined service& silver dividers. Under the center drawer are serpentine doors opening up in an addition storage cabinet. Its stands on finely tapered legs and is simply one of the most handsome sideboard available anywhere. We have purchased or been involved with almost every great period sideboard that has come onto to the New England market in the last two years and here is the very best. This beautiful Empire style sideboard was recently re-finished to expose its wonderful Quarter-Sawn(Tiger Oak)grain with a light golden oak stain and lacquer finish for a satin feel. Purchased in 1993 from a local owner and used in my family for 20 years. It has the original key(locks work) And the original wheels on feet. The mirror has the original silvering, and does have some minor small flaws but only in the edges. Measurements: Cabinet: 22" deep, 56" wide and 38" tall(with the wheels) Mirror is 6" deep, 56" wide and 17/12" tall. Antique Circa 1800s English Sideboard
I love this piece. But it's time for it to go live with someone else a while. It's an 1800s vintage mixed-wood(mostly oak) sideboard with three drawers across the top and two doors on either side. One door has two shelves inside, the other a shelf and a deep drawer. It's not as hard to move as it might seem. The top comes off and one of the columns actually separates from the pedestal(though you can't tell when it's set up. It's stained dark and has some beautiful fretwork on the drawers and doors. Absolutely stunning solid walnut carved china closet. I have owned this piece for the last 38 years. Sadly. It is time to downsize and this piece simply cannot come with me. It originally came out of an old estate in Beloit, Wisconsin. It has no real finish on it. I have kept the wood oiled and natural. The glass is all original to the piece. The corners are hand blown round glass that fit perfectly into the scrolling. Everyone who ever came into my home admired it-a piece of art really. Overall. It measures 8'10" tall x 5' 6" wide. The bottom piece is 43.25" tall x 66.25" wide x 23" deep. The top is 62" tall x 65.5" wide x 17.5" deep. I measured from the widest parts(trim pieces included) I have all the original keys, but some of the locks no longer function as they should. It comes apart into ... more2 pieces for moving, but each piece is still very heavy. I would describe this piece as being in very good to excellent vintage condition.
