Condition: Used Location: Hyde Park, United States Beautiful. Heavily flaked quarter sawn oak sideboard in the manner of RJ Horner. Pics tell most of the story. Measurements are as follows: 84"W x ... more69"T X 24"D. Weight: approx. 150-200lbs. There are a couple of small trim pieces where the backsplash meets the base that are missing, a couple that are loose. The top section of the backsplash has seperated and a couple small pieces of carved trimwork are missing as a result(can be seen in the pics) There is a small a chip on the front left edge of the table surface. One of the locks is missing from one of the doors and there is a stain on the top that can be clearly seen in the photo. Im sure there are other bumps/bruises but nothing glaring. All that having been said, this piece is really stunning in person and all of the condition issues are fairly simple repairs. The flaws I mentioned are only noticed upon close scrutiny and have never been pointed out to me by anyone who has seen it in person. Original finish is in good shape, just as it appears in the photos. The color, in person, is probably somewhere between the lightest and darkest photos. The carving on this piece is AWESOME! The quartersawn grain is heavy and pronounced. Bought this piece and the matching server, which I will be listing soon) to restore but I am out of time/space. I feel I have a reasonable opening bid on this piece but if it does not sell, I will restore it and the price will go up considerably. Personally, im kinda getting burned out on the figurals and winged griffins that usually adorn pieces of this quality so its nice to see a great piece without that typical subject matter. It is French from the 1880's- 1920(French revival period? It is solid oak or walnut It has brass hardware Also noted is that there are no known problems with the piece- nothing on it is broken. One key is included The hutch is 8 ft high. 21" deep, and 57" wide at the widest The bottom part is 36" high by 52" wide There is one shelf inside the bottom part and then the bottom shelf. It measures 15 1/2" deep The top part is 51" high by 52" wide. The top part has 2 shelves inside plus the bottom. These shelves measure 9" deep. Outstanding! Beautifully Carved, Quarter Sawn Oak, RJ Horner Sideboard Must See!
Beautiful. Heavily flaked quarter sawn oak sideboard in the manner of RJ Horner. Pics tell most of the story. Measurements are as follows: 84"W x 69"T X 24"D. Weight: approx. 150-200lbs. There are a couple of small trim pieces where the backsplash meets the base that are missing, a couple that are loose. The top section of the backsplash has seperated and a couple small pieces of carved trimwork are missing as a result(can be seen in the pics) There is a small a chip on the front left edge of the table surface. One of the locks is missing from one of the doors and there is a stain on the top that can be clearly seen in the photo. Im sure there are other bumps/bruises but nothing glaring. All that having been said, this piece is really stunning in person and all of the condition issues are fairly simple repairs. The flaws I ... morementioned are only noticed upon close scrutiny and have never been pointed out to me by anyone who has seen it in person. Original finish is in good shape, just as it appears in the photos. The color, in person, is probably somewhere between the lightest and darkest photos. The carving on this piece is AWESOME! The quartersawn grain is heavy and pronounced. Bought this piece and the matching server, which I will be listing soon) to restore but I am out of time/space. This is a very nice solid oak court cupboard. l would like to say it circa 1690. But lam not sure if the carving on the top is original. l bought it in England. And thought it was a fantastic cupboard. looking at the cupboard it is very old and l think its certainly a few hundred years old. But in the Victorian days they used to alter things, so it gives me the impression that it could have been altered maybe 100 years ago. So lam selling it as it is. This buffet comes in 3 major pieces. It can be taken apart very easily for cleaning. Maintenance or repairs. It also ships very easily on wooden crates. It has an original finish to it, and was never varnished. The best way to maintain is to oil them regularly as they have been for the last century. Breathtaking huge Austrian ornately carved solid oak sideboard buffet cupboard
This once-in-a- lifetime piece has been lovingly cared for all of its' life-125 years-and its' condition shows it. The original finish glows and the gleaming brass handles. Hinges and locks accentuate the magnificent hand carving-people, gargoyles, leaves, acanthus, practically a catalogue of the woodcarver's Art. We have owned it for almost 40 years and it is a treasured part of our household. But, time moves on and we are down-sizing. We were told. When we were living in Germany, that during the wars, pieces like this were wrapped in oilcloth and buried out on the grounds to protect them. They certainly weren't in any danger of being carried off! The measurements of this piece are: 10 8 inches(9' tall by 8 2 inches wide by 3 2 inches deep. It needs at least 10 foot ceilings and a nine foot wide wall to look right. But-oooohhh ... morethe storage! There are four. 26 inch deep drawers for silver, placemats, candles and tablecloths. Four cupboards, down below, hold all your china, platters, bowls and vases. Up above, the two-door cupboard holds crystal and glassware and the open shelves show off your collections. The gargoyle, up on top, points out the carving that identifies it as having been built in 1888. This piece, all together, weighs about 1200 pounds-but it comes apart in four pieces-the bottom buffet, the beautiful, perfectly preserved black flecked marble, the upper cupboard and the gargoyle's box pediment, up on top. Tel: 01432 357753 Description: This is a very nice quality late 19th to early 20th Century antique Victorian Edwardian Jacobean Carolean inspired dresser and rack/ server/ sideboard of Lancashire form. The dresser stands on pad feet with turned tapering legs to the front and square legs to the rear with a shaped pierced apron to both the sides and front and matched raised moulded drawer fronts with 17th/ 18th Century period style brass batwing handles with shaped droppers. Each of the drawes comes with its original lock and escutcheon although we have no keys to the drawers. However it would be relatively easy to have drawers made. The drawers have oak linings with dovetail joints, which are hand-cut. The dresser is surmounted by ... morea solid oak moulded top, rising over this the two door dresser rack with a pierced fretwork frieze, flared cornice and three shelves to the centre and a single shelf, which is removable, either side over the cupboards which have attractive arched panels, the shelves having arched bow fronts. 1880 French Renaissance Louis XV. Profusely Carved Quarter-Oak Sideboard/Buffet. It has a very decorative pierced gallery with finials on each end. The top center has a heavily carved crown. The Sideboard/Buffet is made in three main sections. The base with two drawers and two doors with one interior. Removable shelf measures: 55" wide x 21 1/2" deep x 39" tall. The next section supports the top section with two columns and provides a decorative pierced plate rail. It measures: 16" tall x 12" deep. The plate rail is 4" deep with a 2" opening for plates. The third(top section) measures: 51" wide x 41" tall x 13 1/2" deep. It has 3 profusely carved doors. Vintage Sideboard Buffet Carved Fruit Tiger Stripe Oak Marble Cabinet Large
Very large antique buffet/sideboard with carved fruit. The dimensions are about 88" high x 61" wide x 22" deep. There are three drawers and three doors with locks and key, all work fine. I believe the wood is oak, and there is some tiger striping as can be seen in the pictures. It's in good shape for it's age, there is some chipping of the veneer at the bottom and the marble is chipped on each end and there is a crack toward the center(you can see this in the pictures) Local pickup only.

The columns, for instance, appear to have once been part of another piece, as they have marks where a stretcher once would have joined them. Meanwhile, the counter, the pulls, and all but the fronts of the drawers were replaced later during the Victorian period, closer to the close of the 19th century. The backsplash, which itself bears visible signs of wear and repair, also appears to have been added at this time; a view of the back of the piece reveals the striking difference between the wood used in the upper and lower parts of the piece.The result of over two centuries of modifications have thus produced a remarkably beautiful carved oak server that remains as sturdy as it is elegant. While the server does show a variety of superficial wear marks, these are only normal in a piece of this age and background, and in fact they contribute to the unique and charming character of this server. Beautiful American Antique New York 1800s R J Horner Carved Oak Sideboard Base
Here is an absolutely fabulous 19th century RJ HORNER New York USA made sideboard buffet base. You can see three small holes on top at the back where a mirrored top was probably attached. I bought this as a base only and had it refinished over 30 years ago-it was a dark mess and the wood grain wasn't visible otherwise I would have left it original. I wanted to see the glorious oak grain and everyone that has seen it over the decades has mentioned what an awesome piece it is. The carving is magnificent-hairy feet. Faces, shells, florals-fantastic quality. The drawers in the center are still there and usable, though could probably use some TLC to get them back to their best-there is a small chip in a corner and chain that holds it open needs some work. There are a couple of minor scuffs-one on top and one on lower side-captured in photos, ... moreand a couple of scratches on the top-tried to photograph. The bottom drawer sticks out-since last move 25 years ago. The nose of a center face has been flattened somewhat-again-with last move. One handle on left drawer is not rounded-may have had a piece off-has been that way since I bought it over 30 years ago. There is some minor denting around key locks-no key available. There may be another flaw,but I don't see them-but again this beauty is way over 100 years old. The back is fully intact-solid. Weighs a ton-built to last forever. This is an amazing very heavily carved Sever. It was made in England circa 1880. To the back and base there are carved faces maybe family relatives,to the base there are 3 drawers for some reason there are no handles you open them from underneath with your finger there is a secret hole, this could be for safety children opening. The center of the base they call this a dog kennel and either side there are doors. The top comes of the base so its easy to transport. To the top either side there are very heavily carved fish aboce there is a gallery with turned small pillars. Great piece I don`t think you will ever see another one. It has been partially finished C& R"Marble" chalky emulsion, the dresser is made of solid oak throughout and is a lovely example which has been made to last, we have modernised the piece to give it a lovely shabby chic feel, It has a lovely shaped back which has eleborate floral carved detail above a rectangular overhanging top. These have been hand stripped and have a golden oak hand waxed finish which contrast well with the painted finish, beneath are 2 large drawers and a pair of cupboards, the doors have elaborate floral carved detail, both the doors and drawers have wooden strip handles(replacements) the interior has 2 wooden shelves which create 4 divisions in total. The dresser is sound sturdy and 100% free from woodworm. It does have the odd slight mark or ding here and there but this is in keeping with a Vintage item, the finish to the paintwork is good. if you view the close ups you will see a small chip to the woodwork at the front L H corner, this blends well with the shabby chic/slightly distressed llok of the piece PLEASE VIEW THE MANY PICTURES WHICH GIVE A GOOD ALROUND VIEW OF THE PIECE. 1890's Oak Sideboard Buffet w/Barley Twist pillars and carved bevelled mirror
Beautiful. Functional buffet with carved beveled mirror. This piece is in very good condition. One of the smaller drawers is missing half of it's bottom, but has not been repaired because of inability to locate proper replacement material. Four of the original pulls are missing. The mirror does have one blemish. And the front edge of the base top has small dents, indicating use. This was a gently used and functional piece that has been said to come from one of the homes of Brigham Young, though we have not been able to verify that claim, yet.
