The ... moretop crest is a carving of a mother with leaf carving all the way across, each post has Jenny Lind end, claw feet on the bottom of the posts and cupids carrying fruit and berries on the base. The carvings themselves are an art statement that would likely cost more than the entire sideboard. This is a great collectible piece of oak. The overall size is 54 inches wide, 25 inches deep, 39 inches high to the base and 86 inches high overall. The mirror glass size is 39 inches wide by 17 inches high. The mirror shows silver loss which adds charm and character. It has the original hardware. The knobs on the left-hand drawer has spacers instead of a washer, but it works. It has all the escutcheons.

Measurements are as follows: 84"W x ... more69"T X 24"D. Weight: approx. 150-200lbs. There are a couple of small trim pieces where the backsplash meets the base that are missing, a couple that are loose. The top section of the backsplash has seperated and a couple small pieces of carved trimwork are missing as a result(can be seen in the pics) There is a small a chip on the front left edge of the table surface. One of the locks is missing from one of the doors and there is a stain on the top that can be clearly seen in the photo. Im sure there are other bumps/bruises but nothing glaring. All that having been said, this piece is really stunning in person and all of the condition issues are fairly simple repairs. The flaws I mentioned are only noticed upon close scrutiny and have never been pointed out to me by anyone who has seen it in person. Original finish is in good shape, just as it appears in the photos. The color, in person, is probably somewhere between the lightest and darkest photos. The carving on this piece is AWESOME! The quartersawn grain is heavy and pronounced. Bought this piece and the matching server, which I will be listing soon) to restore but I am out of time/space. I feel I have a reasonable opening bid on this piece but if it does not sell, I will restore it and the price will go up considerably. Personally, im kinda getting burned out on the figurals and winged griffins that usually adorn pieces of this quality so its nice to see a great piece without that typical subject matter. It is French from the 1880's- 1920(French revival period? It is solid oak or walnut It has brass hardware Also noted is that there are no known problems with the piece- nothing on it is broken. One key is included The hutch is 8 ft high. 21" deep, and 57" wide at the widest The bottom part is 36" high by 52" wide There is one shelf inside the bottom part and then the bottom shelf. It measures 15 1/2" deep The top part is 51" high by 52" wide. The top part has 2 shelves inside plus the bottom. These shelves measure 9" deep. This is a very nice solid oak court cupboard. l would like to say it circa 1690. But lam not sure if the carving on the top is original. l bought it in England. And thought it was a fantastic cupboard. looking at the cupboard it is very old and l think its certainly a few hundred years old. But in the Victorian days they used to alter things, so it gives me the impression that it could have been altered maybe 100 years ago. So lam selling it as it is. This buffet comes in 3 major pieces. It can be taken apart very easily for cleaning. Maintenance or repairs. It also ships very easily on wooden crates. It has an original finish to it, and was never varnished. The best way to maintain is to oil them regularly as they have been for the last century. This buffet shows evidence that it has been restored one or several times. It probably sustained some damage and needed repairs. It appears that there is also a combination of wood. Oak being of them. The stained glass seemed to be original, could be the central point of interest, but the carved and turned columns is certainly the central focal point of this buffet. Tel: 01432 357753 Description: This is a very nice quality late 19th to early 20th Century antique Victorian Edwardian Jacobean Carolean inspired dresser and rack/ server/ sideboard of Lancashire form. The dresser stands on pad feet with turned tapering legs to the front and square legs to the rear with a shaped pierced apron to both the sides and front and matched raised moulded drawer fronts with 17th/ 18th Century period style brass batwing handles with shaped droppers. Each of the drawes comes with its original lock and escutcheon although we have no keys to the drawers. However it would be relatively easy to have drawers made. The drawers have oak linings with dovetail joints, which are hand-cut. The dresser is surmounted by ... morea solid oak moulded top, rising over this the two door dresser rack with a pierced fretwork frieze, flared cornice and three shelves to the centre and a single shelf, which is removable, either side over the cupboards which have attractive arched panels, the shelves having arched bow fronts. The centre shelf is fitted with a plate groove, the dresser retaining its original solid oak backing. The doors come complete with working locks and keys and each having a single fitted shelf behind. A fine quality dresser, retaining its original medium oak finish. Date: The dresser dates circa 1900- 1920. Condition: The dresser is in very nice condition for its age. Having minor wear as would be expected of a piece of this age, giving character and authenticity. It has just been refinished in"LAMP ROOM GRAY" The dresser is made of solid oak and has fantastic carved detail throughout the front of the piece and still retains its fabulous original huge brass handles. Beautiful American Antique New York 1800s R J Horner Carved Oak Sideboard Base
Here is an absolutely fabulous 19th century RJ HORNER New York USA made sideboard buffet base. You can see three small holes on top at the back where a mirrored top was probably attached. I bought this as a base only and had it refinished over 30 years ago-it was a dark mess and the wood grain wasn't visible otherwise I would have left it original. I wanted to see the glorious oak grain and everyone that has seen it over the decades has mentioned what an awesome piece it is. The carving is magnificent-hairy feet. Faces, shells, florals-fantastic quality. The drawers in the center are still there and usable, though could probably use some TLC to get them back to their best-there is a small chip in a corner and chain that holds it open needs some work. There are a couple of minor scuffs-one on top and one on lower side-captured in photos, ... moreand a couple of scratches on the top-tried to photograph. The bottom drawer sticks out-since last move 25 years ago. The nose of a center face has been flattened somewhat-again-with last move. One handle on left drawer is not rounded-may have had a piece off-has been that way since I bought it over 30 years ago. There is some minor denting around key locks-no key available. There may be another flaw,but I don't see them-but again this beauty is way over 100 years old. The back is fully intact-solid. Weighs a ton-built to last forever. This is an amazing very heavily carved Sever. It was made in England circa 1880. To the back and base there are carved faces maybe family relatives,to the base there are 3 drawers for some reason there are no handles you open them from underneath with your finger there is a secret hole, this could be for safety children opening. The center of the base they call this a dog kennel and either side there are doors. The top comes of the base so its easy to transport. To the top either side there are very heavily carved fish aboce there is a gallery with turned small pillars. Great piece I don`t think you will ever see another one. Measurements are 75 wide.82 high, 23 deep.

This impressive sideboard of large proportions has a large mirror upstand with ornate carved showframe over a base of inverted breakfront form with frieze drawers supported by twin pedestals with ornately carved fielded panel doors united by undertier and raised on plinth base. This a very good quality carved oak server made in England circa 1850 but looks in the french country style. Its very heavy all solid oak in the base back and drawer linings. To the center of the base there is a carved door with horses and men. The rest is superbly carved all over even the sides. Its very very heavy measurements are 72 long 21 deep. 35 high.

Take a look at this gorgeous oak triple beveled glass sideboard with multi raised panels. A bulbous design front, paneled sides, multi tapered ... moreturned spindles, and is heavily carved, that dates from the 1890s. This came off a container from Europe, and although it looks American, it is most likely English. It would make a fantastic bathroom sink cabinet, if you could deal with the height of the base, because of the way the base has a carved middle drawer that bows out with ridges and the bulbous carved front. Just across the front of the base it has more than 20 deeply carved raised panels! If you took off the doors and drawer fronts, you could hang them on the wall as works of art. The top of the base doesn’t just have an ogee beveled edge, it has an amazing beveled edge that is twice as wide as normal. It has its original hardware, an applied bracket foot base, and then you look at the top. It has triple mirrors, the two outside large, oval and of beveled glass, and the center mirror of beveled glass with 45-degree corners. There are all kinds of raised panels, and there are candle shelves for lamps, and incredible acanthus carved pillars with cornices on top. Antique Heavily Carved Oak Sideboard European Origins Needs TLC
We are pleased to offer to the market this stunning European oak sideboard. This piece measures 53.75"W x 76.5"H to the back top x 19.5"D. It is 33.5" to the height of the work area. The top boasts an elaborate center carved panel depicting a scene with a man and a woman. This panel is flanked with more elaborately carved sections. Above and below there are spindles and on the sides there are also pinwheel style spindle& carving designs. There are elaborate floral designs surrounding the center panel. and separating the center panel from the panels with the pinwheel designs. Above the top spindles. The crest also boasts elaborate acanthus leaf carving with a center medallion of a bust of a man. The corners of the crest have small finials on them. One of these is broken off but we do have it. The work surface on this ... moreis in good condition with light surface scratches. Divets, and dings that are age and use appropriate. Below the work surface there are two carved front drawers with a carved medallion between them. The drawers have early joinery as shown in the photos. These also have what appears to be the original brass hardware. At the base of the piece there is a large surface for storage with two columns in the front as well as a small spindled gallery shelf. The bottom molding is ornately carved with the same floral medallion. There is a large crack and piece missing to the bottom molding. This sits on bun feet. There is one foot missing on the back and there is also one cracked. There are age and use appropriate scratches. Dings, and divets on this piece. There are areas that are also in need of repair. wonderful antique quartersawn oak buffet, carved crest / mirror and twisted legs
for sale is a very nice antique solid quartersawn oak buffet made in 1904. it has a nice backspash with a carved crest and the original beveled mirror. it also features twisted legs and twisted columns as part of the back splash. it has double yoke stretcher which adds additional beauty to the piece and additional support to the legs which is really not needed i don't think. it is rock solid with no wiggles. Wobbles, loose joints, or any other issues to report that would be deemed detrimental to the buffet. it features abundant quartersawn oak flake over the entire piece. it has a long drawer across the top with dividers in it and two large drawers below it in the center and of course as you see two doors, one on either side, that expose a large storage area which has a half shelf which may be put in if desired. the i have the holder ... morepins for the shelves. all the locks are extremely clean and quite functional. the drops on the drawers are large and solid brass and are heavy since they are solid. the buffet is 60 inches wide, 39.5 inches to the top of the cabinet portion and 54.25 inches to the top of the crest of the back splash. it is 24 inches deep. it moves easily on its original metal casters. the piece is rock solid, all original with no missing parts or pieces and no repairs that is see. it is near mint condition. it matches a table i now have listed as well as a set of 6 chairs. i tried the set together with no luck, so i have busted it up and will sell the pieces separately. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck. fyi. Antique Belgian Carved Oak Buffet / Sideboard
I have owned this beautiful oak sideboard for about 10 years. It is in nice shape with the original finish. It has a few minor condition issues(see photos) Nothing serious. Measures 86 1/2 inches wide, 23 1/4 inches deep, and 51 inches tall. It is made to come apart. So it is much easier to move than it appears. My Father told me it was common for old furniture to come apart in northern Europe as stairways and doors were often narrow. The family I bought it from purchased it in the 1950's from a friend who imported antiques from Belgium. They used it as a store fixture(it has a check guarantee bank sticker on the back) and later in their home. No shipping on this item. You will need to pick it up at my house in Portland. The sideboard is solid oak in a medium stain finish. It features carved wood twist details on the sides and carved, fluted legs. The center section of the sideboard features an exquisitely carved figural scene. Each side of the cabinet opens to reveal the storage area. The doors do not have hardware pulls. They open by unlocking and they do retain their original locks as well as the beautiful key. The storage section is completely open and not divided. The cabinet is further accented with large and decorative hinges. This is a GORGEOUS cabinet with an abundance of charm and character. It is in remarkable condition with only minor signs of age/use.
