The sideboard is in amazing condition, with very ... morelittle sign of wear at all. It is the original finish and the mirror has the original glass intact. There are some visible seams on the burled top, and it does have some holes from wood beetles, but it has been treated, and should not have any more issues. There are a few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece, but I do know that it comes from France, and was originally contructed between 1850 and 1880. The sideboard has short cabriole reverse scroll feet.

This super antique French 2 piece walnut buffet would date to the second half of the 19th century and is in good condition. The cupboard to the bottom has a single shelf to the inside which is enclosed with a pair of fine panel doors. These doors have a working lock with key which also operates the frieze drawers which run with ease. Have applied moldings and original ring handles. The top section has a panel back with 2 carved brackets which support the top shelf. This is all complimented with a fine raised carved pediment. All of these were of high social status in midieval Europe and thus these figures are placed above a multitude of carved figures depicting the serfs or commoners. I bought this Beautiful Hand Carved example 15 years ago in the Marche De Puce outside of Paris.It boasts the Finest. Most Delicate Carving I have seen and in almost every panel showing Cat Tails, Reeds,Flowing Curves and Flowers at every corner and around Heavy Shaped and Beveled Glass in the upper doors. It retains all of its Original Hardware and Keys as well as all shelves. We have enjoyed it these last years but are now downsizing so another can enjoy this Museum Quality Piece. We were told that a sister piece is housed in the Belgium Museum, Art Nouveau Exhibit but have not confirmed this. This is a superior quality piece with solid bronze Louis XVI ormolu fittings and intricate inlays. The center medallion is hand painted Sevres porcelain with a bronze surround. The sideboard is constructed from ebony walnut and burl walnut veneering that is in excellent condition. The curved glass doors open and close smoothly and all of the locks work as they should. With age there are some imperfections such as a small piece of trim missing. Offered for sale is an antique French carved walnut sideboard that is 7 ft long. 39" high and 21 1/2" deep. It was made in France in the late 1800's. It has four drawers above four doors. The front top edges are rounded en ding on larger round stepped feet. The bottom has a beautiful serpentine skirt joining the feet. This large sideboard offers loads of storage. Filled peg holes on the top indicate that this may have once had a top. A beautiful sideboard to grace any wall or room! It is solid walnut with walnut veneers on the flat parts. The walnut is a warm. Beautiful medium honey color. The marble top makes a very practical surface for serving and general use. There is a key and the lock works. Overall this piece is in very good antique condition with the usual amount of nicks and scratches in the woodwork from 100+ years of gentle use.
