Designed by Milo Baughman, first released in 1955 these models are from the first year's production lines. Dog Bone" handles. Ample space, silver Elm wood, they are great looking. The top of the Buffet was refinished though there is still faint indications of a deep scratch. Minor scuffs here and there and the hutch has some discoloration on one side which I have seen occur in other products produced from Elm. Overall very very acceptable and very clean with no stains in the drawers or on the two shelves. This is a very hard piece to come by and is sought after. ANTIQUE SOLID OAK BUTLERS HUTCH SIDEBOARD CHINA BUFFET CIRCA LATE 1700
18th century solid oak Butlers Hutch This was purchased over 30 years ago at the Antique Buyers guild( The old Helms Bakery L.A) We where told at the time of the purchase that it dates to the late 1700's and was made in the Adam period French in origin. It is a impressive piece of furniture. It is all hand carved solid oak. The cabinets each have one shelf inside bottom is sagging so I placed a piece of hard board in there. It has a incredible dark patina. It measures approx. 94 1/2" tall 47" wide under 24" deep The hutch is attached to the base using dowels So it lifts off the base From what I remember they only stick out a inch You need at least a 8' ceiling. My home was built in the late 1940's so the ceilings are 8'2" a newer home might be a tight fit. Years ago because I was concerned about earthquakes ... moreI attached 2) 2"x4"s to the back to make it sturdier. They are stained to match. So for those of you with a tight fit. I think it could be set up without the dowels across the back because of the 2" x4"s the 2 spindles in the front supporting the hutch also come off. There are dowels sticking out both ends. You could leave one end in and maybe put a screw trough the bottom. One other modification I noticed will up inside the cabinet is that wood was added on both sides under the base's top( I would guess the top may have been sagging under the weight of the Hutch) hence the addition. There are 2 small dowels missing on the rail on the inside( good place) hardly noticeable. One small piece gone off the top. Again hardly noticeable. I didn't catch it when I bought it. Other then that as you can see it is impressive without being over bearing. I don't need to sell so I don't plan on dropping my prices. This price is what I want to part with it. Antique French Normandy Provincial Buffet. The hutch is two piece measuring 44 1/4" wide by 16 1/2" deep and stands 79" tall. The top can be mounted on the wall for additional work space. The bottom dresser top is full finished.The buffet features two plate rails a single lower silver drawer and a full cabinet with one shelf below. This is quite a handsome piece with figural carvings and spooled turnings. The piece is in excellent condition with the original hardware. The hardware could be polished to reveal the brass and make the piece pop. We have left in with the original patina for the purest. The Normandy buffet is legal antique and dates circa 1840. Exquisite antique hand carved English hutch / dresser / buffet / sideboard oval
INCREDIBLE hand carved English hutch/buffet/sideboard just waiting for that perfect spot in your home. Made entirely of beautiful dark wood. This piece has been meticulously carved by hand, and no opportunity for adding elegance has been missed. Includes all original hardware and mirror. This sideboard separates into two pieces in case you only want to use the buffet portion on the bottom. The sides of the hutch include intricately carved finials and small"shelves" for displaying your favorite small items(I used antique perfume bottles) and small painted plates. There is a small crack along the left side of the buffet close to where it meets the hutch, which I assume is due to its travel from England. Two carved doors on bottom open to reveal a spacious interior with original shelf, and two drawers open smoothly to store smaller ... moreitems. Right side of cabinet tends to come open if not locked, but a regular basic skeleton key keeps it closed easily. I have used this piece as a dresser in my guest bedroom, and I have regularly gotten offers to purchase it. We are moving downtown and will not have room for it in our new home. We purchased this matching set of 2 Piece Hutch with beveled glass. Solid table with retractable leaves, and Buffet with three door and 2 drawers, while stationed overseas in Europe. We are wanting to sell it now as we are moving to a small space and no longer have room for these big beautiful pieces. We still have the receipt from their purchase from Patrick Molinares of Patrick Antique in Tongeren, Belgium. Vintage Antique Maple Sideboard Buffet Cabinet, China Hutch All Original. LQQK
This is a very nice Antique that has been in the family for at least 100 years. This elegant piece measures 48 inches long by 17 1/2 inches deep by 56 1/2 inches high. The lockable doors have beveled glass and between them. The center features a beautiful Tulip made up and decorated with inlaid polished copper and brass. The shelves still have the original felt lining. I do not know the manufacturer but it does have a number. This piece was part of the art revolution of that time. The maple wood has never been refinished and is all original. It is in excellent condition for its age with only a few light scuff marks and a couple of nicks. It was purchased from the old Antique Guild when they specialized in selling antiques. We were told at time of purchase that it was a European antique from the late 1890's. It is a lovely piece of furniture that could be used for multi-purposes(i.e. display cabinet. Dry bar, in a retail store or restaurant or just as a unique piece of furniture in your kitchen, living room, bedroom, etc. It has nice carving and woodwork details. The cabinet size with both pieces is approximately 78" high x 54" wide x 18" deep(approx. 19.5" deep at center) The bottom portion of the cabinet measures approx. 54" long, 18" deep, ... moreand 37" high. This cabinet consists of two pieces(the upper portion and bottom portion which are mounted to each other in the rear of the cabinet) The bottom portion of the cabinet has two side doors with carving details and shelves for storage. We have for sale a very nice antique French"Vaisselier" coming from several generation in our family in France. My mother always took care of it but wants to sell it. This nice piece of handcraft made in France is in wild cherry wood we softly polished regularly. The unit comes in 2 pieces. The top was used to display decorative plates and is a master piece of hand carving skill. 4 raws of meticulously carved shelves. See details on pictures. In great condition. We pinned a piece of material at the back just to enhance the plates decoration. top: 55"1/2 high 5"3/4 deep 54"3/4 wide The bottom was used to store pots and pans but you can store anything you want. 2 doors and one middle shelf. It is solid wood and all the original hardware, just needs a little cleaning and live. Has wheels on the bottom. Will have to carry down 5 stairs down the side walk and load yourself. It is heavy.
