Offered for sale is an antique sideboard. Original grain painting which was created to look like flame mahogany or rosewood. There is gold leaf accents on the piece. As well as applied carved rosettes and hand carved leaf design under the supports for the back splat. See photo#3. Constructed of pine. Two large doors open to reveal a large space with one shelf. A long drawer which has a canted front sits on the top of the piece. The large back splat with shelf and pointed arch screws onto the base. So it can be easily removed for transport. Very Solid. This is one of 2 antique counters available for sale in a 1853 store building located in Altona. Illinois 61414 on U.S. hywy#34 between the Quad Cities and Peoria, Illinois. The counter has a refinished old walnut top that was lovingly restored by the previous owners of the antique shop. Size of the smaller one at the rear of the shop is: 32 in. height by 11 feet long by 34 in. in depth by the walnut top dimensions. The Base is on a black painted molding with elaborate molding from the black base up to the beautiful walnut top with an antique finish as mentioned above! You will love the molding and the seller hopes to add pictures of this counter and the other longer one soon. There is one long shelf on this counter for storage. Selling a beautiful antique French Provincial side board with wood/glass upper displays(you are buying the entire piece as shown) We recently purchased several large pieces from a local winery that is changing ownership and renovating their tasting room. All of the pieces were originally brought in at a great expense from France to showcase wine. While we love this piece. It is too large for our small shop and we are selling it. It is currently being used to display some of our antique porcelains. This is a very large and intricately carved sideboard/cabinet. It was made in two pieces- upper and lower half due to the large overall size. It is made of pine and white oak with beautiful carvings throughout. It dates to about 1880. The height of the piece is 90" at the tallest part and 84" at the shorter sides. The overall width is ... more84" The middle section is 23" deep and the sides are 18" deep. The holes next to the knobs on the bottom are where the locks have been removed but these will be put back in for the buyer. The top of the cabinet(glass uppers) have also been wired for lighting. The overall condition is excellent. There are minor scratches etc. in places as is normal for a provincial piece of this age. All doors. Hinges etc. are excellent and glass is all intact. The piece comes in 2 pieces as it is quite large and this makes for easier transport. This item can be picked up from our store Maxine's Relics in Calistoga or we can arrange local delivery. The wax finish has warm antique patina. And preserves charming wear, mars and hand planing marks. Buffed to low sheen. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster. Great Antique Pine? Hutch. Small 55" High
Fantastic little Antique Pine? Hutch Cupboard. Im guessing its Pine. But not 100% certain. It has the weight and look of Pine, but I know there are other woods that are very similiar. Measures only 55" high x 30" wide x 15" deep Could stand to be cleaned and polished with Old English. But ill leave that for the buyer to decide. Overall great antique condition. No wood splits or damage or deep scratches anywhere. Im guessing that it is pre 1900. But again, im not 100% certain. Please view the photos closely. They are the best description of the piece.
