Inspired by the designs of Boulle under Louis XIV, this ebonized mahogany cabinet features extensive ormolu bronze mounts and brass marquetry. Lower cabinet doors open to reveal two shelves with old red velvet and the Druce and Co. nameplate. The upper cabinet features glazed and curved glass side panels and glazed doors and two adjustable shelves. Overall condition is good. There is a crack with losses to the brass in the upper left section of the lower left door, and other minor cracks to the brasses. There is a narrow vertical crack on the left side of the cabinet, and a few missing mounts, including the reed-and-tie border to the upper window on the right side, and the glass is cracked in the upper panel as well. An early 19th Century enfilade from the North of France. Picardie, with cabinets on the end connected by a center vaisselier. The vaisselier with a center elaborate pierced slats has a shelf and was used to display plates and pots. Made of cherry and chestnut wood with two dovetailed drawers and two doors. Great proportions for this buffet with plenty of storage and also room for display. Usual restoration on the legs. 88" long 12" deep 43" high. Nineteenth(19th) Century French Hutch/Buffett Good Condition 8' tall Nineteenth(19 th) Century French Hutch/Buffett Antique- It is 8’ tall with finials. 6’ 10” wide. The bottom section is 33” deep and the top section is 18“ deep. The 4 winged griffins that hold the top section are 14" high. This is the first antique I ever collected beginning in 1982. It was purchased from the Antique Guild in Los Angeles, CA. One key opens and locks the two doors at the bottom, two drawers in the middle and two glass doors at the top. There is a bit of filler in one spot and a nick or more if one looks closely. See the pictures for a more detailed look. The two most notable spots are highlighted. Also, there is a missing finial. They are removable and one can be cloned by a wood worker if desired. The buffet breaks down into three sections, bottom, ... moremiddle and top.
