Beautiful English Sideboard/Server-Walnut-Original -w/ mirror-19th century
This elegant English sideboard is made of walnut and is in original finish. It is hand carved with grapes and leaves and has dovetail construction. This is a quality. Well built piece of furniture. The mirror is beveled and has intact silver and the brass hardware is original. There are 3 drawers with 2 doors on either side. One door houses 2 pullouts and the other has shelves. As far as condition there are age crack in the op which I have shown in detailed pictures. There is a crack on one side. Also pictured. At the back where the mirror rests there is minor damage. The cracks have appears because of the width of the wood. Boards that wide have a tendency to split. The measurements are: 80" overall height. The base is 36" high. 22-1/2" deep and 62" wide. INCREDIBLE hand carved English hutch/buffet/sideboard just waiting for that perfect spot in your home. Made entirely of beautiful dark wood. This piece has been meticulously carved by hand, and no opportunity for adding elegance has been missed. Includes all original hardware and mirror. This sideboard separates into two pieces in case you only want to use the buffet portion on the bottom. The sides of the hutch include intricately carved finials and small"shelves" for displaying your favorite small items(I used antique perfume bottles) and small painted plates. There is a small crack along the left side of the buffet close to where it meets the hutch, which I assume is due to its travel from England. This fabulous English oak solid wood sideboard is 2 sections- top and bottom. The bottom has 4 drawers and 3 cupboards- the 2 center drawers are bowed. The cupboard side doors are single and center cupboard is a double door. It features a bowed carved front between the drawers and the center compartment- center cupboard is open up into that bowed area. Original brass"butterfly" hardware with a stylized design- one broken handle on bottom center door. The top section features 3 beveled mirrors and 4 shelves supported by carved columns. There is a sunflower motif on the pediment top center along with multiple carved flowers and leaf designs all over the front. Scrolls along the very top and sides. We are pleased to offer to the market this stunning antique English cabinet. The maker of this piece is unknown to us. We believe it to be from the late 1800's. A beautiful. Unique and functional piece the attributes of this are numerous. This is made from rosewood and veneer. The gallery top boasts a beautiful marble slab in amazing condition. Above the gallery there is a cabinet with glass doors. The doors have a pretty bell flower with ribbon& bow motif painted on them. This matches the inlaid motif on the base doors. There is an oval shaped beveled mirror between the doors. This has a key for the upper doors and they do lock. Beneath the cabinet doors the backsplash has a larger beveled mirror. The mirror is flanked by shelves mounted on columns with brass accenting. The base section of this has a single drawer above two doors ... morethat open to reveal additional storage space. The drawer has dove tail seams. The drawer has a lock but we do not have the key and the key that locks the upper doors does not work on this lock. There is a faux lock mechanism on the bottom doors as well. With no lock mechanism inside. This is strictly decorative and not functional. This stunning sideboard/dresser/buffet travelled from England to America with my parents when they moved here in the 1970's. And took pride of place in their home for the remainder of their lives. It is now time to liquidate their assets, and pass on the pleasure of ownership of such a beautiful and versatile piece to someone who appreciates the beauty, history and craftsmanship of high quality furniture. It is made of mahogany, with beautifully carved embellishments and a gorgeous, flawless large focal mirror. The bottom section has six dove-tailed drawers, and the top section consists of a large focal mirror flanked on each side by two small shelves. Above the main mirror is another shelf, ab ove which is a smaller mirror. Both mirrors have bevelled edges. The top section is attatched to the bottom part with screws, so it will come ... moreapart for easier moving. Antique Victorian Mirrored Inlaid Server Marble Top Sideboard English c. 1800's
Stunning Victorian mirrored sideboard or server. This ornate piece features carved decorations cresting each of its three sections. The center section has a large arched mirror with beveled edges. To each side of it are smaller oval beveled mirrors surrounded by filigree inlay and framed by turned columns. Each side section also features a small shelf over a larger serving area with molded edges. While the center section is slightly recessed and has been covered with beautiful rose-colored marble. Below the serving surfaces are two dovetail-jointed drawers with decorative brass bail handle pulls incised with geometric designs that resemble ankhs. The bottom half of this piece features three spacious cabinets, each framed by turned columns and with a mirrored and inlaid door that is opened with a key. This piece most likely dates from the ... moremid 1800's and is English in style and probably originated there. This piece is in fair to good antique condition with some minor breakage including and small break to the center crest. Breaks to the arched frames around two of the lower mirrors, a sizable chip to the veneer on the center door and a crack through the mirror surround on the upper right side, but no structural damage. Please examine the pictures provided. Otherwise this piece only has light wear associated with age and use. This impressive server stands 84" tall and measures 59" wide and about 17 1/2" deep. An English George III mahogany and inlaid sideboard, circa 1795-1800
A very elegant English George III mahogany bowfront sideboard with dazzling cross-banded satinwood top and three line inlays. Circa 1800, with the rare inclusion of the original“lion’s head” pulls. The drawers repeat the pattern of the top and are accented with corresponding exuberant satinwood borders. The case rest on six tapered legs that terminate in spade feet. Ancient, old surface with outstanding patina, untouched by time with no notable repairs. The sideboard is shown in“estate found” condition, but still retains a mellow surface, and warm color and choice surface. PROVENANCE: A private collection. Charleston, South Carolina. English Regency Style Mahogany Sideboard on Spade Feet c. Antique 19th Century
ENGLISH REGENCY STYLE MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD OF DIMINUTIVE PROPORTIONS A highly desirable size at only 48 3/8" wide Predominantly c. 1st Quarter of the 19th Century Item# 1408ZSQ10A An outstanding piece for anyone with a smaller dining space. This piece is probably at least somewhat altered in order to make it more desirable for such areas. We would assume it was altered or composed during the late 19th Century using a period sideboard from the first years of the 19th Century, lending it all of the patina and vivid craftsmanship we cherish in period objects while allowing it to be suitable for the modern dining room of that era. Few period sideboards are of the right size to aesthetically work with the average dining room, but this piece is of the perfect dimensions to do so. The craftsmanship is impeccable with bold and well selected crotch ... moremahogany veneers on the drawer and flanking doors. These protected by cockbead molding around the edges and over the hand dovetailing of the drawer. The cast Lion Mask pulls are correct for the period but are later replacements using the same holes. The frame from beneath shows the exposed dovetailing that joins the frame permanently, the entire piece resting over tapered legs on spade feet. While this is not a good choice for the purist collector. It is an absolutely fabulous sideboard for anyone with a more petite dining room space who loves the warmth and wear of a early objects. It is in outstanding condition and will certainly be a cherished part of your dining room for a lifetime. Measurements: 48 3/8" W x 23 3/8" D x 36 1/8" H Condition Report: Probably at least partially altered using 19th Century components. Top replaced, pulls are replacements in the same holes, old gouge to right side of the case(well oxidized with a nice patina) chip beneath drawer. Sturdy and strong. This sideboard was made sometime around the year ... more1890 in England. The Mahogany wood has a lovely. Deep patina that will continue to grow deeper and more beautiful as it ages. For storage there are three large drawers and two cabinet sections. All drawers open and close easily and were constructed with hand cut dovetailed drawer joints. There are two drop ring brass handles on each drawer. This center section bows out lending the piece a elegant shape. The doors, drawers and back-splash are all constructed in a magnificent flame mahogany. The top of the three drawers is lined with green felt to cushion silverware. The left and right cabinets come equipped with a sturdy shelf for dishware. Both doors lock securely and one key is included. The rope twist carved molding adds an extra dimension of character to this extravagant piece, and all sits atop marvelous ball and claw feet. Being such a heavy and sturdy sideboard this piece has withstood the test of time very well. There are a few minor cosmetic issues to mention. The escutcheon on the left cabinet is missing. Also. In the right cabinet there would have been a lead line drawer for wine bottles that is now missing. It was probably removed on purpose to allow for more storage

Antique Circa 1800s English Sideboard
I love this piece. But it's time for it to go live with someone else a while. It's an 1800s vintage mixed-wood(mostly oak) sideboard with three drawers across the top and two doors on either side. One door has two shelves inside, the other a shelf and a deep drawer. It's not as hard to move as it might seem. The top comes off and one of the columns actually separates from the pedestal(though you can't tell when it's set up. It's stained dark and has some beautiful fretwork on the drawers and doors. A 19th century English brandy board in mahogany veneer with oak secondary. With three drawers(one cellarette) and one cabinet door. It measures just shy of 34" tall, about 44-7/8" wide, and about 20-1/4" deep. There are remnants of a paper label, but we do not know the maker. There is overall normal surface wear commensurate with age and use, including some dings and scratches found commonly on antique furniture. There is some loss to the veneer(most notably on the front to the right hand side on the top edge and the edge of the left front foot) There is also a drying line on the left side of the piece(pictured) It also looks like parts of the bottom may have been replaced/refinished. Period Antique English Mahogany Hepplewhite Sideboard w Cellarette Vintage 1700s
Hepplewhite Sideboard This antique Hepplewhite sideboard is made from mahogany with satinwood bellflower inlays. It was made in England and dates from the late eighteenth century. The sideboard is very finely proportioned and is a nice diminutive size that would fit in many homes. The measurements are 66" long and 36" high; it is only 19" deep. The most outstanding feature of the sideboard is the cellarette drawer on the right for holding wine bottles. The sideboard is in very good condition. There is no missing inlay. Two of pieces of curved molding have come away from the left drawer but both remain with the piece. One small piece of mahogany edge banding is missing above the cellarette drawer. You can see in the photos below the handcut dovetails and matched crotch grain veneer of the drawers. An interesting letter was found ... morein one drawer of the sideboard. It shows that the piece was sold by an antiques dealer in 1965. The sideboard was purchased from Schumann Antiques in Louisville. Kentucky. The firm is still in business and still sells fine antiques. I am listing this piece of furniture as"Local Pickup" in the Mid-Missosuri area.
