There are a few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece, but I do know that was originally contructed between 1870 and 1899. The sideboard has short reverse scroll feet with beautiful carving that runs up the side supports from the feet. The sideboard has carved accents on the front of the doors, at the outer edges of the large drawer, with matching carved details on the top mirrored frame and pillar supports.

It has a great crest on it. The overall size is 54 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 39 inches high to the marble and 96 inches high to the top. The door compartments are divided with a shelf on each side. There are some specks of white paint on one side where someone must have splattered paint when painting a wall that I am sure would clean up. There are a few pieces of molding missing that aren’t anything major, but I wanted to mention it. Other than three or four little sections with the molding issues, it is in really nice condition.

The two doors open on the base to expose a shelf interior. The center is the mirror panel with the pillars and is not a door. You have a double door front and a center with carved pillars. The looking glass is scratched and worn, which adds charm and character. The inlaid appears to be in nice shape.

Finials, carved Lion heads,burl walnut panel accents and a fancy carved scroll and shell gallery as well as the original beautiful brown marble top and the original brass hardware and early dove-tailed ends on the drawers. This sideboard/ buffet measures a total height of 82 1/2 inches( 6 ft 10 1/2 in) to the top of the carvings on the very top center. Height from the floor to the top of the brown marble measures 36 1/2 inches,with a total width of 48 1/4 inches and a depth at the base of 21 1/2 inches and this pieces weighs approximately 250 lbs. This sideboard does dis-assemble into 4 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The fine display shelf above the marble measures 26 inches in height above the marble top and the shelf measures 43 inches wide by 11 inches deep.The larger mirror measures 19 inches high by 33 inches wide, and the three mirrors at the top each measure 10 inches wide by 6 inches high. This is a fabulous piece in wonderful antique condition and the original brown marble top is also just beautiful with no apologies we can find. All the locks are intact but the key provided just aids in opening the cabinet doors and does not work the locks. There is a small piece of carving missing on the left side of the pediment inside of one of the scrolls. I have shown a close-up of in the pictures and appears to have been missing for a long time.nothing major in my opinion and definitely doesn't distract from the beauty of this gorgeous 19th century piece. Here is an Antique Victorian Sideboard/Server/Buffet; Walnut. Inlaid wood, Marble Top, Mirrors 1890's Dovetail construction First.I apologize for the pictures! It's very difficult to take pictures when there is a mirror. And this is a large piece. The pictures do not do this piece justice! This Server is sitting in the back room of my shop, and I just didn't have the room to focus for a picture. The glare is terrible in some of the pics. And the blue showing in the mirror is from a tarp thats hanging in the building. I had the server redone as far as replacing the marble top. And all the drawer pulls. They were replaced with brass ones as close to what might be original as I could find. Two keys are included. As far as I know the mirrors are original. This is a pretty much untouched. Original as-found unbelievable Eastlake incise carved mirror backed spindle galleried top ICEBOX! Yes, ... moreit’s an icebox. Even though it looks like a sideboard, this is a two-door icebox with a mirror buffet back, that came out of a really nice home. I had one of these about 22 years ago, and this is only the third one I’ve had in my 43 years in this business. Made of walnut and in its original finish, it has the original brass Victorian embossed hardware doorknobs, and even the faucet is original. The faucet will have to be re-soldered so it doesn’t drip or leak. When opened, you can see the original zinc lining that just needs to be buffed up. It has the water tanks, the shelves, and just about everything except the original key. The top cover lifts up and you put the ice in, and there is a water faucet right in the icebox. It must have been a marvel in the 1870s or‘80s when it was built? Unfortunately someone has ripped the label off the back, and I don’t know the original manufacturer. The top has a stick and ball gallery, incise carved panels, three-quarter inch beveled rectangular mirror in the center, and even the little tiny finials in the top. Gorgeous Victorian era marble top server or sideboard. This beautiful piece has been capped with a gray and white marble top with rounded corners. The server show signs of high-quality construction including a paneled back and sides and sturdy dovetail joint drawers. The two drawers have fluted edges surrounding burl walnut inlay. Pressed brass pulls with a sun-like like design and silver-friendly linings. The lower cabinet has two doors, each with a burl walnut panel framed in a molded edge. The ring shaped pulls and brass escutcheons are made from brass. This piece most likely dates from the late 19th century. No maker's marks. The server is in good antique condition with some small holes in the marble top. See pictured example. The locks have been removed. This piece highlights the unique and truly exceptional pattern of the burr walnut grain extremely well. This credenza is serpentine ended with elegant serpentine glazed doors on either side. It has a panelled door in the centre which has intricate inlaid decoration. And it opens to reveal a shelf and plenty of storage space for drinks, glasses, crockery, etc. It has fabulous ormolu mounts and a wonderful inlaid decoration to the frieze and uprights. The Piece is all original including the ornate brass drawer pulls. The Sideboard has burled walnut panels and a beveled edged top over two frieze drawers. There is a minor repair to an area of the hinge of one of the doors( see pics) and a small piece of the trim is missing(also see pics) The beveled mirror has some silver loss but otherwise not damaged. A cord is hanging in front of the mirror in a few of the pics that makes it look cracked. it's not. And in some of the pics. The mirror was removed when we were moving it) Very nice condition! Having just been restored by my very experienced restorer(50 years) it is consequently in excellent condition and is ready for immediate use in the home or for retailing in a prestigious showroom or fair. Please note we have not re-lined this cabinet, but we could arrange this in your own cloth should you wish. The second thing that strikes you about this cabinet is the colour and patination. The cabinetmaker that made this cabinet chose some very good quality timbers for the job. This has resulted all these years later in a cabinet with a gorgeous soft rich warm colour and patination that can only be attained by walnut of this age and quality. Thirdly are the proportions. The design of this cabinet is just right and the cabinet benefits from having a good balance. Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Style Marble Top Walnut Sideboard/ Buffet Beautiful Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Style Walnut Sideboard Marble Top Circa: 1850-1880 Measures approx. 55" tall. 60" wide and 18" Front to Back. There are lots of gorgeous carvings on this piece of furniture. You can zoom in on the pictures to view these closer. The carving at the very top middle has a little chipped piece. I included a picture of this. It is on the top left of this carving. The top of the sideboard is covered with a slab of marble. The marble is in very good co ndition with no chips. Cracks or breaks. This slab of marble can be removed to move or transport the sideboard. If you are looking at the sideboard from the front. The piece that is located at the very back left side of the marble is missing a small piece of ... moremolding on the side. I included a picture of this as well. There is a door in the front that opens up to a compartment that includes 2 shelves. On the backside of the door.The top piece of the molding that holds the center wood piece of the door is missing. You can see this in one of the pictures that I provided. There is a lock located on the door. I do not have the key that fits this. The drawer located at the top of the door still opens and shuts very good. The door is dovetail construction. There are 3 shelves located on both sides of the door. Some of the shelves do have a little discoloration. But the wood is smooth and does not look like it has been wet at anytime. Please view the pictures for more on this. I cannot find any makers marks anywhere on the sideboard. I did however. Have an appraiser research it and here are the remarks that I received from that: Your piece is Victorian and in the Renaissance Revival style which was popular 1850-1880. Furniture in this style ranged from works made in shops employing skilled craftsmen to the products of large Midwestern factories. The New York shops.
