Circa 1890 See description for full condition report Ball and claw feet Rope twist carved moulding From a wonderful selection of mahogany wood comes this English antique Victorian ball and claw sideboard that would make a sturdy and immaculate addition to any dining room. Not only does it provide more than ample storage. It also has a unique and eye-catching look that will have your guests asking where you found such an exquisite piece. This sideboard was made sometime around the year ... more1890 in England. The Mahogany wood has a lovely. Deep patina that will continue to grow deeper and more beautiful as it ages. For storage there are three large drawers and two cabinet sections. All drawers open and close easily and were constructed with hand cut dovetailed drawer joints. There are two drop ring brass handles on each drawer. This center section bows out lending the piece a elegant shape. The doors, drawers and back-splash are all constructed in a magnificent flame mahogany. The top of the three drawers is lined with green felt to cushion silverware. The left and right cabinets come equipped with a sturdy shelf for dishware. Both doors lock securely and one key is included. The rope twist carved molding adds an extra dimension of character to this extravagant piece, and all sits atop marvelous ball and claw feet. Being such a heavy and sturdy sideboard this piece has withstood the test of time very well. There are a few minor cosmetic issues to mention. The escutcheon on the left cabinet is missing. Also. In the right cabinet there would have been a lead line drawer for wine bottles that is now missing. It was probably removed on purpose to allow for more storage
