This Dutch antique oak hutch is the perfect size for almost any conceivable use. The depth of only 16" means this piece will fit in any hard to fill area and still leave plenty of room for other furniture. Being made in a classic Dutch style, this hutch features large geometric shapes on the door panels. The doors open with wooden handles. The handles can ... morebe turned to"latch" the doors shut or open. The top plate rack shelves have beading attached so you can stand plates up for display. Both the shaped skirt and moulded cornice come together to make this piece an outstanding example of European furniture. The oak is beautiful, having developed a wonderful patina. This hutch is rather heavy, being solid oak, but does come in two pieces for easier moving. There is normal minor usage wear throughout, including minor old repairs to the right cornice, but in all this hutch is in very solid, sturdy, and good condition. The counter height is 38" and the shelf depth is 8" The base contains various removable shelves. The geometric patterns on the doors are very interesting. Each door opens with a wooden knob. The counter has minor wear. Which really only adds to its antique charm. Here is a close up of the counter. Here is the shaped skirt and feet of this piece. This is quite a handsome piece with figural carvings and spooled turnings. The piece is in excellent condition with the original hardware. INCREDIBLE hand carved English hutch/buffet/sideboard just waiting for that perfect spot in your home. Made entirely of beautiful dark wood. This piece has been meticulously carved by hand, and no opportunity for adding elegance has been missed. Includes all original hardware and mirror. This sideboard separates into two pieces in case you only want to use the buffet portion on the bottom. The sides of the hutch include intricately carved finials and small"shelves" for displaying your favorite small items(I used antique perfume bottles) and small painted plates. This impressive sideboard of large proportions has a large mirror upstand with ornate carved showframe over a base of inverted breakfront form with frieze drawers supported by twin pedestals with ornately carved fielded panel doors united by undertier and raised on plinth base. Here we have for auction is a good Victorian carved solid oak sideboard in the Jacobean manner dating to the mid 19th century. This well crafted example has a moulded edge top with a stunning carved frieze over a central bank of two long drawers and cupboard doors enclosing a shelve flanked either side by two further drawers and panel cupboard doors with moulding detailing being raised on squat feet with a carved apron. For auction here is a lovely example of a 19th century antique walnut buffet sideboard used in dining rooms and large kitchens for storing and displaying your china. As you can see it has a lovely patination. Quality fielded and carved panels along with nicely balustraded shelves, the drawers are fully oak lined. The top of the sideboard has opened up a little( see photo) due to shrinkage commensurate with a piece of furniture of this age but does not affect its function. A lovely form, hand dovetailed drawers and detailed carving on all edges and trim including dentition on three sides around the top. It has small cabinets behind the ornately carved dragon doors in the hutch section as well as display shelves, and has drawers across the top with more open cabinet space below in the base section, which is where you see the traditionally older construction front to back planking across the bottom. I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition, construction and overall beauty of this fantastic piece as well as a detailed description above. This antique heavy carved sideboard with hutch top stand 85 inches tall and measures 69 inches wide and 17 inches deep. Front to back.
