Here is an absolutely delightful large antique empire style sideboard or buffet with gorgeous flame mahogany veneers. Columns with detailed carving above and below with very detailed fabulous carved lion's feet on the front legs. The large lovely cabinet has a really nice top surface with a number of faint or light scratches but no major gauges, stains, chips or other serious damage to the top as I attempt to show in my photographs. It is a somewhat oversize functional piece of furniture and perfect for a front entry hall, hallway, dining room or any room in your home or business. It has three drawers and three large open cabinets with lots of extra storage in a classic 19th century empire style sideboard in very nice condition and ready to make a statement in your home or office. The original metal hardware is all intact and sort of ... morea floral, perhaps a peony, in shape and are attached through into recessed holes within the drawers as shown. Investing just a bit into the minor repairs to the veneer to restore this great buffet to it's former glory will make this piece even more special and valuable if you prefer antiques restored and in near perfect condition. This beautiful sideboard stands 44 1/2 inches tall to the top surface of the sideboard and 49 3/4 inches tall to the top of the serpentine mantle across the back edge. It measures 63 inches long at it's widest point at the outside of the beautifully carved lion's feet on the front legs and the top surface board is 61 3/4 inches long. The piece is 24 3/8 inch deep front to back. Again at the deepest point at the lion's feet which protrude beyond the front of the drawers and cabinets, and 21 3/4 inch front to back at the top surface board and general body of the sideboard. Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Style Marble Top Walnut Sideboard / Buffet
Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Style Marble Top Walnut Sideboard/ Buffet Beautiful Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Style Walnut Sideboard Marble Top Circa: 1850-1880 Measures approx. 55" tall. 60" wide and 18" Front to Back. There are lots of gorgeous carvings on this piece of furniture. You can zoom in on the pictures to view these closer. The carving at the very top middle has a little chipped piece. I included a picture of this. It is on the top left of this carving. The top of the sideboard is covered with a slab of marble. The marble is in very good co ndition with no chips. Cracks or breaks. This slab of marble can be removed to move or transport the sideboard. If you are looking at the sideboard from the front. The piece that is located at the very back left side of the marble is missing a small piece of ... moremolding on the side. I included a picture of this as well. There is a door in the front that opens up to a compartment that includes 2 shelves. On the backside of the door.The top piece of the molding that holds the center wood piece of the door is missing. You can see this in one of the pictures that I provided. There is a lock located on the door. I do not have the key that fits this. The drawer located at the top of the door still opens and shuts very good. The door is dovetail construction. There are 3 shelves located on both sides of the door. Some of the shelves do have a little discoloration. But the wood is smooth and does not look like it has been wet at anytime. Please view the pictures for more on this. I cannot find any makers marks anywhere on the sideboard. I did however. Have an appraiser research it and here are the remarks that I received from that: Your piece is Victorian and in the Renaissance Revival style which was popular 1850-1880. Furniture in this style ranged from works made in shops employing skilled craftsmen to the products of large Midwestern factories. The New York shops.
