Gorgeous Hepplewhite Federal style sideboard. A serpentine front and tapered legs create clean. Classic lines. Inlaid borders and designs contrast beautifully with the deep-colored mahogany finish. Two large drawers on the left and one in the center provide plenty of storage space in addition to the lower cabinet. False drawer fronts on the right open on brass hinges to provide storage for taller items. Brass drawer pulls and key surrounds. Unfortunately two of the pulls do not match, and were likely replaced at some point. This sturdy piece has dovetail joints in the drawers and mortise-and-tenon joints visible in the back. Overall. The sideboard is in very good condition. There is a dark area on the top as well as some light scratching and other wear consitent with age and use. There is also some wear to the feet. The top of this hutch is curved and has a beveled edge and pressed wood design on the inside top edge. The front corners have been cut on angel and tiger striped veneer applied for added detail. This is a magnificent piece of furniture. There is a strip of burled wood down the center of the upper and lower pieces and the front of the lower doors have burled wood on them as well as a nicely designed inlaid tiger wood strip. This piece has great patina. The veneer has bubbled and chipped in a couple of spots but its hardly noticeable. The over all condition of this piece is excellent for its age. It is a very old antique and will not be perfect. I do not know the exact date it was made or who the maker is. The base measures 39 inches tall, 53 inches side to side and 23 inches front to back. It weighs 75 pounds. The top measures 34 ½ inches tall, 49 1/8 inches side to side and 17 1/8 inches front to back. It weighs 97 pounds. This a 19th century antique mahogany sideboard with some solid mahogany. Some figured mahogany veneers and pine secondary. There are two drawers over what appears to be three doors but is actually two doors. The right hand drawer is a lined drawer for silver ware and the bottom section can be totally locked. Drawers are hand dovetailed and the bottoms of the drawers are chamfered. The columns are like double ended C scrolls and the feet are simple.typical mid 1800's Empire Revival piece. Height to top = 40 1/2" Width = 57" Depth at deepest = 24" The lock sets are original. They are the"same" lockset in that they are both either left handed or right handed as the key needs to be reversed to work each lock. They lock easily. The key has been replaced. By far. One of the nicest pieces of furniture we have had the opportunity to offer. This is a wonderfully carved server or cabinet made of solid walnut. It had 2 drawers above double doors. The interior has a fixed shelf. The columns are full carved and burled. The handles are also carved wood. The condition is excellent. One of the cabinet doors is slightly warped but still works perfectly. The finish is beautiful and the color warm and consistent. In 15 years, this is the first of it's kind that I've had the opportunity to own. This is a true antique. A fine piece of furniture. It would go nicely in any decor. Stunning Victorian mirrored sideboard or server. This ornate piece features carved decorations cresting each of its three sections. The center section has a large arched mirror with beveled edges. To each side of it are smaller oval beveled mirrors surrounded by filigree inlay and framed by turned columns. Each side section also features a small shelf over a larger serving area with molded edges. While the center section is slightly recessed and has been covered with beautiful rose-colored marble. Below the serving surfaces are two dovetail-jointed drawers with decorative brass bail handle pulls incised with geometric designs that resemble ankhs. The bottom half of this piece features three spacious cabinets, each framed by turned columns and with a mirrored and inlaid door that is opened with a key. This piece most likely dates from the ... moremid 1800's and is English in style and probably originated there. This piece is in fair to good antique condition with some minor breakage including and small break to the center crest. Breaks to the arched frames around two of the lower mirrors, a sizable chip to the veneer on the center door and a crack through the mirror surround on the upper right side, but no structural damage. Gorgeous Victorian era marble top server or sideboard. This beautiful piece has been capped with a gray and white marble top with rounded corners. The server show signs of high-quality construction including a paneled back and sides and sturdy dovetail joint drawers. The two drawers have fluted edges surrounding burl walnut inlay. Pressed brass pulls with a sun-like like design and silver-friendly linings. The lower cabinet has two doors, each with a burl walnut panel framed in a molded edge. The ring shaped pulls and brass escutcheons are made from brass. This piece most likely dates from the late 19th century. No maker's marks. The server is in good antique condition with some small holes in the marble top. See pictured example. The locks have been removed. But are being stored in one of the drawers and could probably be easily reinstalled ... moreby the buyer. Otherwise, there is only light wear commensurate with age and use. Antique sideboard, HIGHLY CARVED, religious images, late 1800's early 1900's
Very large highly carved antique lowboy/ sideboard. Late 1800's early 1900's. My guess you be the judge. Was found in Belgium and shipped over to Utah where I bought it. The carvings on the 4 outside doors appear to be profits and you can see horns on Moses with the tablets. The center is a mid-evil sword fight with a castle in the background. The center door holds 4 drawers, the top is felt lined for sliver ware. The 4 outside doors each have one shelf on the inside. Very solid and heavy oak with decorative iron on the bottom. Note items in or on the low boy are not included. Stands 4 feet tall about 8 feet long and 2 feet deep. Weight not sure, my brother and I was able to lift it when we were more fit. A very nice antique. Circa 1800, Federal bow side and serpentine front mahogany sideboard. The flame mahogany top board is solid and not veneer. The legs are solid mahogany with string inlay and oval inlay rosettes. The side panels, drawer, and door are flame mahogany veneers with bands of uncommon checkerboard inlay. The case interior is maple and oak. Glass drawer knobs are replacements to original wood or brass knobs. All locks present with three keys for left door, right door, and top drawer, lower compartment doors have no key. Sideboard measures 3'4" 40" tall by 6' 72" wide by 23" deep. Very good condition: original unworn finish, minor tiny veneer chip or nick here or there. Some cracking to veneers where doors and side panel boards behind them have aged. Beautiful Antique English Hutch secretary- Late 1800's with secret compartment
This hutch was purchased at an antique auction many years ago. And although I do not know the exact year of production, it does date back to the 1880's and was shipped to the United States from England. On the secretary writing surface, there is a piece with a Reg D No. 458784, as pictured. This is solid wood, and there are absolutely no scratches or chips in the beautiful leaded glass doors. All locking mechanisms work fine, and there are 3 original keys included. Possibly the most unique feature about this piece is the secret compartment- If you lift up on the top of the hutch, there is a secret space at the top for hiding money, home security, jewelry, etc. Just think about what could have possibly been stored secretly in this space since the 1880's. Up for Auction: One(1) Antique 19th Century Empire European Side-Stand circa 1830's-1850's. A friend of mine asked me to list this for him and I am giving you the info he has been given on it. I am not a collector or a furniture professional. So I am hoping the collectors out there will know about this awesome find! I'm told that the knobs date back to 1826 and that this piece came over by ship from possibly Ireland? The carving on this one is fabulous to say the least. Can't even imagine the amount of time that was invested in this to create such an awesome look back in the day! Lion's paw/claw feet/legs are beautifully done. Piece shows obvious signs of aging. Wear and some chips scratches and surface cracks. I have tried to capture the condition the best I could. Two knobs are off the front but my friend has one of ... morethem. Two are still in tact and on side stand. No key for keyholes. Back of unit has pushed away in a few spots and he nor I have made any attempt to re attach.
