But in the Victorian days they used to alter things, so it gives me the impression that it could have been altered maybe 100 years ago. So lam selling it as it is. Here is an exquisite. Massive, Antique 19th cent. American(probably Horner) quarter sawn oak sideboard buffet server. Straight out of a Long Island estate. Was in the same family for 70 years. This piece was made around 1880 and represents carved oak at its best. Incredibly carved with lions' heads. Paws, ribbons, and scrolls. Doors are all carved scrolls with center cartouche. They are separated by 2 columns of carved ribbons and fruit. The drawers above have handles of lions' faces. The top is crowned with an incredible lion head. The only condition issues are a small ring stain and a darker area on the top front right. Also a thin slit in the wood appx 18 inch long. These are very minor and can easily be fixed. This fabulous English oak solid wood sideboard is 2 sections- top and bottom. The bottom has 4 drawers and 3 cupboards- the 2 center drawers are bowed. The cupboard side doors are single and center cupboard is a double door. It features a bowed carved front between the drawers and the center compartment- center cupboard is open up into that bowed area. Original brass"butterfly" hardware with a stylized design- one broken handle on bottom center door. The top section features 3 beveled mirrors and 4 shelves supported by carved columns. There is a sunflower motif on the pediment top center along with multiple carved flowers and leaf designs all over the front. Scrolls along the very top and sides. Carved Oak Antique Server or Buffet Made in England
This is an amazing very heavily carved Sever. It was made in England circa 1880. To the back and base there are carved faces maybe family relatives,to the base there are 3 drawers for some reason there are no handles you open them from underneath with your finger there is a secret hole, this could be for safety children opening. The center of the base they call this a dog kennel and either side there are doors. The top comes of the base so its easy to transport. To the top either side there are very heavily carved fish aboce there is a gallery with turned small pillars. Great piece I don`t think you will ever see another one. Measurements are 75 wide.82 high, 23 deep.

This is a superb solid pollard oak server made in England circa 1880. It has all the original beveled mirrors to the back. The condition is very good. There are 4 doors to the bottom and 3 drawers to the top. The only thing I can see is missing is one drop from the brass handles. Measurements are 78 wide 26 deep 90 high. The top comes of the base so its easy to transport.

A wonderful antique. Circa 1890, oak server in the Louis XV style. It has carvings in acanthus leaves and scallop shell with gilting over. There are two drawers(right drawer has chips to both knobs, and a lower serpentine shelf. Server measures 47" wide by 35-1/2" tall at top surface(41-1/2" tall at backsplash) by 22" deep. for auction a wonderful antique quartersawn oak server or could be used as a sideboard in a smaller dining room sitting. it has great form and beauty. The top and bottom sides are bombayed, the center drawers are bowed in a fine fashion. three curved upperdrawers, the center with felt. it has two doors on either side as you see. the piece is presented in original finish, all the hardware is original and perfect including the door locks. each drawer has original lock, all locks work with ease and i have the original key for it. it has two fierce whole bodied griffins on the mirror crest which are carved in a very fine fashion. it has the original beveled mirror which needs to be cleaned. as i was cleaning the woodwork on the mirror frame some of the new life got on the mirror and i just wiped it off, should have used some water. anyway, the ... moremirror will clean up nicely and only has a few minor areas of silver loss. this is a very heavy piece, i can barely lift one end with the drawers out and the mirror off. it was made by a superior cabinet maker, possibly horner of new york, as the drawer construction with the birdseye maple bottom are very indicative of his work. it could have been made by berkey and gay from mich. really doesn't matter who made it. it is constructed with perfection. it has 4 very well carved claw feet that support it. the cabinet is in wonderful antique condition with great patina. i cleaned and polished it as it has been in storage for a few years. it is quite solid and everything that is suppose to work, works like the day it was made. there are no major blemishes but on a piece that is 120 years old you can expect a few little bumps and bruises, however, i would classify this piece as near mint condtion. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck fyi, i paid 2000 for it years ago, i am starting it at 2300. ebay has triple their fees, it used to be 3 percent, they raised to 10 percent, greedy bastards. at any rate, their commission and listing fees etc. wi

We have hand stripped. Re-glued, sanded, stained, applied multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer and applied two reproduction handles and an escutcheon that we antiqued. Now we have one solid oak high quality dessert server to offer you, which is hard to find back in the 1940s sets. Imagine how hard it is to find back from the Eastlake era! Believe it or nor this server still has the backsplash with it and it has little tiny balls carved in each corner. It is simply stunning in a medium oak stain. It has a lot of eye appeal. It is 37.5 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 5 inches from the floor on the first shelf, the second shelf is 18 inches from the floor, 36.5 inches high to the top from the ground and it is 45 inches high to the top of the finials on the server. The backsplash itself is 5.5 inches high. The drawer is dove tail and has two shelves underneath to offer plenty of storage.
