Lovely Antique White Porcelain Teapot Becher Stark Schwalb Bros BSM Czech c1882
This auction is for a Lovely Antique Porcelain Teapot and lid made in Czechoslovakia by Becher& Stark- Schwalb Brothers circa 1882. The teapot and lid are in good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or repairs. There is extensive loss of the gold accent designs. The pot has a neatly shaped handle and a nice raised or molded dot pattern in its white porcelain. The teapot measures 9 inches tall including the lid and 9 inches wide from spout to handle. It has the green BSM backstamp used by the company from 1882-1891. French Unmarked TeaPot, White Porcelain with Red trim
Wonderful unmarked French style teapot with gold and red trim. There are examples of Haviland teapot which are very similar to this very pretty teapot. Has twig handle and finial on lid. It is a naturalist design with very little to distract from other pieces on your tea tray. Would look wonderful with White Haviland porcelain dinner service. It has some red along with the gold by the handle. Just a great piece. No crazing. Cracks, chips, or flakes. It stands 9 inches tall and 10 inches with spout and handle.

CHINESE or JAPANESE Blue and White PORCELAIN TEAPOT w/ Infuser
Lovely classic blue and white porcelain. Side-handled, covered teapot with infuser. It measures approx. 4.75" tall. Circumference is approx. 14 inches around the broadest mid-section. The applied spout is approx. 2 inches long and the fluted handle is approx. 1.75 inches long. Condition Description: Teapot. Age. Wear and production characteristics include a couple of pits, areas of uneven glazing, rough and/or unglazed and/or worn spots. There is a miniscule chip and 2 fleabites on the tip of the spout. And, the glaze is worn on the edge of the spout(photos 5&6) There is a 6-7mm-length hairline crack near the edge of the fluted handle and wear on the rim(photos 3&4) T he bottom of the teapot shows light wear. The bottom is finished in a flat. Unglazed, eggshell white ceramic material: this material extends for about 1/4-inch ... moreupward from the base of the globe(photo 10) The inside of the pot is glazed(except under the flange) but shows little wear. There are 7 spout holes. From the inside of the pot the edges around the spout holes look and feel elevated with slightly sharp edges(holes were pushed from outside inward) The spout and handle orifices. And the edge of the lid and the lid vent hole are unwashed with buildup. The edge of the cover is rough and the underside of the cover is unglazed with a glazed center circumference(photo 8) The inside of the fluted handle that is visible and palpable is glazed. But just up to the point a finger can't reach any deeper. The flange surrounding the globe's top is unglazed. Infuser, Most of the infuser is eggshell white. Unglazed ceramic material(inside bottom has some remnants of worn glazing) There is typical age, wear and production characteristics, including the flange around the rim is rough with a few tiny fleabites. There appears to be a worn surface coating of ceramic material applied to the flange and upper part of the infuser(photo 9) The holes on the bottom of the infuser are not perfectly uniform and are unevenly distributed. CLASSIFICATION: Blue and White Porcelain Teapot. ATTRIBUTION: Ancient China. Qing Dynasty, 19th Century. SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height(with lid) 111 millimeters(4 1/2 inches) Breadth(including spout) 161 millimeters(6 1/2 inches) Diameter: 133 millimeters(5 1/3 inches) at belly; 61 millimeters(2 1/2 inches) at top lip; 106 millimeters(4 1/4 inches) at base. Lid: Diameter: 68 millimeters(2 3/4 inches) Thickness: 10 millimeters(3/8 inch) CONDITION: Very good. Entirely intact. A little wear consistent with any household item which is over one(perhaps two) centuries in age. Not flawless, but certainly in an excellent state of ... morepreservation. DETAIL: A nicely preserved large sized traditional blue and white porcelain teapot with a design so wonderfully characteristic of late Ming/early Qing Dynasty artwork. The glaze is entirely intact. Vibrant cobalt blue, and the condition of the pot is exceptionally good. There are of course a few minor scuffs, marks, dings, etc. All of the preceding almost unnoticeable and very minor– we’re just playing critic here in the interest of full disclosure. The tea pot almost seems as if it was used primarily for decoration. The tea stains though unmistakable, are still nonetheless relatively light. In fact a good scrubbing and there’s no reason at all why you could not use this for your own ceremonial high tea. There are of course one spout and two handle loops- all entirely intact. The two handle loops would have served as attachment for two wicker handles. Of course after several centuries the(biodegradable) wicker handles are long gone. But the teapot remains entirely intact. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE WHITE PORCELAIN TEAPOT WITH ROSES AND LUSTER TRIM
Antique/vintage white porcelain teapot with roses. Blue flowers, and grey-green leaves patterned on both sides, it's not marked but it looks to be hand painted. The porcelain is done with a twisting vertical swirl that adds a very nice texture to the teapot. The foot or base is done in a bluish/lavender luster glaze, and gold gilding adorns the lid, handle, spout, and by the roses. They are white with handpainted gold highlights. They are marked with the Mark F Manufacturer's mark and Mark C Decorator's mark which indicates they were made around 1876-78 I believe. The teapot measures 7" high, 6" deep and 10" wide including the handle and spout. The sugar bowl measures 5 1/2" high, 5" deep and 6 1/2" wide. Anchor Pottery, Sutherland Road, Longton,Stoke-on-Trent were earthenware manufacturers(also china up to 1887) They were established in 1805 and moved to the Anchor Pottey in 1853. The company closed in the 1990s. Although the company appears to have ceased producing china in the late 19th century they continued to use tradenames such as'semi-porcelain' porcelaine opaque' and'limoges' for their earthenwares. If the ware is translucent when help up to the light(i.e. you can see light through it) then it was probably made c.1890. Just as the'England' mark was being phased in and before china production ceased. If it does not transmit light then it is a type of earthenware and could be a little later than 1890. Up for auction is a beautiful antique small teapot. Which was made by Carl Tielsch in Silesia, Germany during the period 1870-86. The teapot is made of pure white porcelain with a vertical ribbed pattern and has a rosette finial atop the lid. It stands approximately 5” 13cm) high to the top of the finial and has a capacity of 12 fl oz(355 ml) Overall this piece is in very good condition for its 100 yrs+ age with no cracks, large chips, staining just minor wear on the outside rim and base. It does a two tiny chips inside the rim, which do not effect pouring.There is some uneven glaze application inside the rim, as well as glaze bumps and bubbles, mineral specks, which have been there since production. This is a 4 piece tea pot made for using loose tea leaves. Blue Roses on white on the teapot. Lid and infuser. It has a strainer on top with large holes. Another at the bottom with smaller holes and another in the spout itself. The top strainer has a long crack around the top rim. Seems to be staying together so I'm not sure if someone mended it or not. The tea pot has one of those small chips on the base. Nothing much. Other than that it's in good condition and so pretty.
