Featuring a Romantic Country Estate scene, similar to transfer ware produced by William Adams of Staffordshire, England. Ca 1820-1840 The earthenware body of the large soup bowl may be described as pearlware. Because of the slightly blue tint to the glaze. Measures 9.75 in diameter x 1 5/8" depth and weighs 15 ounces. The transfer decoration is a view of a fine country house. With the figures of a man and a woman walking along a lake or river, two men fishing in the foreground, with grazing cattle. The border features eight architectural"scenes" or vignettes, possibly scenes of a University like Oxford or Cambridge. In general. The design is fabulous and there is also some decorative leaves on the underside of the plate. It measures about 6/12" across and has a slightly scalloped edge. The plate appears to be hand painted. The stamp on the back is green with a design of crossed hammers over a crown. My research show that this is the mark of Fisher& Mieg or Pirkenhammer and dates from the late 1800's. For auction. A set of four child's toy plates with pink scenes of a woman in the garden. They are classical Georgian scenes with a laurel wreath around the border. Each plate measures 3 3/4" in diameter and has an over glaze with a bluish tint. There are three with the same scene and one different, with a woman dancing. Pretty Little Antique Floral and Gilt Trinket Dish
If you love roses and china and all things pretty. This little trinket dish is for you. The colors are rich and vibrant and are gorgeously accented by the gold gilt flourishes. Wild roses in shades of pink, rose, butter yellow adorned by mossy green leaves are set in a central medallion of creamy white. The warm salmon pink central color really highlights the cental image. Hand painted and just lovely.even prettier in person. This little gem measures approximately 8 inches in length and 5 inches in width. It is in wonderful vintage condition with no cracks or chips. There is some markings embossed into the bottom of this dish but I can not make them out. I have included a picture of the bottom to illustrate these. Antique cake plate with lid BEAUTIFUL!
I wish I knew the history of this piece. It was given to me by ya friend who I believe found it at a garage sale. It is very sturdy metal and the picture is still very clear on it. The lid opens and closes easily when you pull up on the knob at the top.
