This is a rare pearlware cup plate in excellent condition. A beautiful wash of pink lustre over the blue & white transfer border of daisy-like blooms ... moreadds an elegance to this small pottery cup plate. The blue transfer that is encircled by the border illustrates a water fall with a gentleman and a cow in the foreground. A ruin with an arcade and tower is in the middle-ground. A country church pin-points a small village in the distance. This print is not attributed to any particular Staffordshire pottery, as far as I know. This cup plate was made in England at the end of the Georgian era, about 1825. The condition is near perfect. There are only some minor rubs in lustre.3.7” Diameter.3” Deep

Antique Pearlware plate, brown & white transferware, Chinese scene, pre 1890
Antique pearlware plate with brown and white transfer of a Chinese scene. This 7 1/2" diameter plate is in perfect condition with no chips. Cracks, crazing or discoloration. If you look closely at the design around the rim you will notice that it is not symmetrical. The number of flowers between the leaves and the length of vine varies with each placement of the transfer. The facial expressions of the people in the scene are quite interesting. There is no mark on this plate but it is possibly Creil of France. The lack of identification dates this piece to before 1890 and it is likely early 1800's. 19th Century Dinner or Luncheon Plate - Pearlware / Spatterware - Antique - 9.8"
A very handsome(in my humble opinion) 19th-century plate. I'm not at all sure what the correct name is. I've found a couple of similar pieces described as" Pearlware" I've seen a couple described as" Creamware" and this plate's outer rim looks like" Spatterware" Whatever it may be, I think it's very nice& handsome. Very nice, bright white background with dark blue rim. The coloring on the rim seems also to have crept around to the rim on the plate's underside. See pictures, please. Note: If you know what this pattern/make is correctly called. I'd really. Really appreciate hearing from you: I own other pieces. And don't know its correct name. No maker's mark found anywhere on this piece. All I can tell you is that it came from a very good collection of 19th-century pottery/porcelain ... morein Maryland. It was on display in a corner cupboard. On a plate stand(not included) Measures 9.8" in diameter. Very nice condition. No cracks or chips. A couple of tiny marks from utensils. But not large or sizable. Three tiny marks from the kiln stand, on the plate's underside. I've estimated shipping for this piece at $10.50. If it can safely be shipped for less. And if the winning bidder will please hold off making payment until I've issued an invoice, I will charge only the actual postage cost. In no event will shipping cost to the buyer exceed $10.50. Please view all pictures carefully in order to judge condition for yourself. Minor wear commensurate with age. Please ask all questions before end of auction. And I’ll do my best to supply answers. Payment due within 48 hours of end of auction. Shipping available to United States only. No international shipments. If you’ve completed less than 5 eBay transactions. Please contact me before bidding. Please be certain that you agree with these terms before bidding. Thank you for your understanding. And for your business.

The center is printed in black transferware with a re-rendering of a 1730s Hogarth drawing. It is signed by the engraver T ROBSON in the print. The Hogarth is a political satire showing a politician sitting reading his Gazette. A pursuit which takes up so much of his(tiny brain) that he fails to notice the candle is burning a hole in his hat. The later print from the Hogarth had this poem at the bottom: A politician should(as I have read) Be furnish'd in the first place ... morewith a head. As you can see. Mr. Robson added several nice touches; a bookcase and more newspapers on the table. In excellent condition; there is a small glazed over chip on the back rim only and four very tight hairlines seen mostly only on the back. The longest one very faintly seen on the front if you look hard for it. Otherwise, this displays wonderfully. Thanks for looking! No Reserve!
