Beautiful Vintage German C.T. Tielsch Pink Pearl Luster Oyster Plate 9 1/4" Wide
This is a beautiful vintage(around 1890s) German Carl T. Tielsch pink pearl luster oyster plate that is about 9 1/4 inches across. The plate has 5 oyster wells. 2 shell shaped wells, a round center well, and a tiny oval well next to the center well giving it a total of 9 wells. The colors in the plate are light pink, dark pink, brown, tan, and gold. The pinks are all done in the luster shades as is some of the lighter brown. The plate is marked on the back and it is faint but readable. The plate is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. The only problem I can see is the some of the golden trim around the rim of the plate has worn off over the years which is to be expected with a plate that is probably over 120 years old. There is also a red mark on the back which may be the artist's mark or it could have something to do with the ... moredate, I am sorry but I do not know but it is over the glaze, not under as the maker's mark is. I found this great piece at an Estate sale along with a beautiful antique Chinese carved Jade dragon belt hook letter opener that I am also listing this evening. Payment will need to be PayPal. Once the speed of transportation increased and better shipping technologies were available, oysters could be shipped to a much wider market of oyster enthusiasts. In fact, oysters became so popular that even special Oyster Parties were held far and wide among the upper and middle classes. Oysters were at the height of their consumption and popularity between 1810 and 1870. ANTIQUE EXCELSIOR PORCELAIN OYSTER PLATE C1895 GERMAN
This is a beautiful antique porcelain oyster plate made by Excelsior. The plate is marked on the bottom with the Excelsior mark that was used from 1889-1896. The plate is white with delicate pale flowers in each of the six wells and the center. The raised scroll pattern and inner edges of the wells and center are gilded. The plate measures 8.5 inches. There are a few tiny pits that appear to be original with the manufacturing process. There is a slight amount of wear on the flowers and on the gilding consistent with age and normal use. Overall this plate is in excellent condition for its age. There are no chips cracks or repairs noted. Please see the photos. The plate stand is not included.

Antique German Porcelain REGISTRIRT Oyster Plate Scenic Landscape
This auction features a vintage oyster plate made by Registrirt. Marked in an ink 0570/VII and 48. I haven't cleaned the plate and it has been in storage with my other vintage dishes. Four large oyster spots. 2 small spots And a shell on the inside for dipping sauce. Dish imperfection of raised bump- see photo. Small dark mark by small shell. On the back of dish there is an air bubble indent which has a slightly dark line coming from it which you can see on either side- see photos. Antique German Majolica Oyster Plate Blue and Beige, op133
Offered is a beautiful antique German majolica oyster plate. This wonderful oyster plate is decorated with shell form wells to hold 6 oysters and a center well for lemon. The light salmon colored shells are lying on a bed of light blue seaweed and background. The back is marked with"germany" According to Kovel's New Dictonary of Marks, this was used on items starting in 1885. This lovely oyster plate is in good used condition with no chips on the front. There is a small chip on the vack rim that is not seen from the front and does not detract from the beauty of this beautiful oyster plate. It measures 8.5 inches in diameter.
