Exceptionally nice piece of miniature(or child's) transferware plate made by Edge. Malkin& Co. Burslem, Staffordshire from the late 19th century. It's in a beautiful country red color and clear, crisp transfers in both its center depiction of a young girl and goat and its lovely border design. The plate is 4 3/4" in diameter. There is a clear maker's mark on the back edge of the plate. I did my best to take accurate pictures of the style and quality. This auction is for 3 Antique Red Transferware Ironstone Pieces- two plates and a bowl- made by Edge Malkin& Co. of England in the late 1800s. All three are in the company's Italy Pattern. Which depicts different Romantic Pastoral and Castle Scenes of the Italian Countryside with wide borders in a Victorian Scroll and Grape Cluster design. Although the same pattern. Edge. Malkin& Co 1891-1903 Red Transferware- Italy Pattern All pieces are in the company's Italy Pattern. Which depicts different Romantic Pastoral and Castle Scenes of the Italian Countryside with wide borders in a Victorian Scroll and Grape Cluster design. Although similar patterns, the center images are different on each but the borders are the same. That's how the pattern was designed. The five pieces will display nicely together. I have over 100 pieces in this pattern so there will be lots more on eBay! And for being over 100 years old. This set is in remarkably great shape! As with all older earthenware and transferware. There is always slight factory imperfections. Maybe a flaw in the print or air bubbles in the glaze. There are pottery marks present too. Coffee cup- measures 4 inches wide and about 2.5 inches tall. This is a pair of 7 1/2" diameter plates with polychrome decorations on a white body made by Edge. Malkin Company in England in the mid to late 1800s. THIS AUCTION IS FOR TWO ANTIQUE PLATES. The red transferware plates are both old. The larger plate measure 8 1/2" in diameter. It is made in England by the well-known potters of Edge. Malkin& Co. The name of the pattern is ITALY. This handsome transferware plate, from E.M. Co. is one of their earlier plates dating from 1871- 1891. The very attractive Maker's Mark, also, includes B for Burslem and is identified as their Standard Mark. The scene is a quaint pictorial of an Italian town and surrounding area. This special plate is approximately 140 years old. There is another Maker's Mark that is impressed into the plate that repeats the company name. There are no chips or cracks. The tone of the transferware is dark red. The back has some crazing and is darkened around the edges. The smaller plate measures 6 1/2" in diameter. ... moreI do not know the age. Antique square serving plate is 9-1/2 inches wide handle-to-handle. The black and mustard band around the edge is transferred. Hand-painted multi-colored design in center is very clear. Showing people, flowers, trees and architectural features with visible brush strokes. This Chang chinoiserie pattern was made in the Burslem, England(B) pottery between 1871 and 1891, when it was discontinued. Cream background. Overall crazing and discoloration, but no chips whatsoever. A handsome piece for hanging on a wall. Amazing that it's lived over a 120 years without being broken or chipped.

Transferware pattern has bled a little onto the white. The surface of the plate and back side have a few tiny bumps. But they are glazed over.
