Antique Faience Cake Plate lot ironstone Polychrome GL Ashworth set of 6
You are bidding on a grand serving set of 4 cake plates and 2 serving plates total of 6. These are a rare find to have all together and highly marked with circle mark. Stamp and incised Ashworth on each plate. These are from the early 1800's as the England B Mark with the circle and made in Hanley England Made by G.L Ashworth brothers with the Incised Ashworth mark. The set shows the journey of a European family with their horse and son. There are three patterns of the family. I have been unable to locate any of these to price compare but did see only one similiar with same mark chipped going for 299.00 on an antique sight for one cake plate. So I am selling as the set as I found them because they are amazing together. These are all about 9 1/2" wide plates. The large cake plate stands 5 1/2" high and the 3 other cake plates ... morestand about 2 1/2" high. These were purchased over 15 years ago at a victorian Estate in Englewood New Jersey. All of the pieces show great from the top with no chips on top but there are some chips on the bottom of most of the plates. They are very heavy and believe they are polychrome or faience if you look at the bottom their is sum tin showing through. One cake plate and one serving plate is fine with no chips or breaks. The tall one has three chips under. Another has two. One cake plate has one and the second serving plate has one. These are in as is condition. I have pictured the bottoms so you can see. Makes a great entertainment set with rare pottery from centuries ago. These are as is with under issues on plate. These will be shipped in more than one box for the safety of the items and insured. If I can reduce shipping and you are closer I will do so.

Hanley Staffordshire England. Other marks include a capital B over 1834 and 57x as well as Ashworth Real Ironstone China. It is in good condition with normal wear for age and measures just under 9 inches in diameter. I am obviously no expert but research indicates this is the rare Bible and Fence Imari Design. Antique Rimmed Soup Bowl Ashworth England ca. 1860-1880 O ffered for auction: A richly decorated. Intensely colored rimmed soup bowl. With a Chinese design, that I believe is made by Ashworth(Staffordshire, Eng land) In the period between 1860 and 1880. It has a thick hand-applied blue design over a black and white Chinese dragon border, with a center cartouche of a person looking out a window at a garden landscape. The bottom(foot) of the bowl has two paper labels that I think are from the original antique store where my client purchased this bowl. Some years ago. One paper label reads"Ashworth c. 1862-1880. The other says"enamel over black transfer, Eng. c. 1860/ M-26-16 $45" which I assume was the price my client paid for the bowl) This piece is in good to very good condition. There is light crazing. Antique Ashworth Bros. Real Ironstone China. Peonies and over painted gilding and filigree. Eight maker's marks on back. Beautiful condition. Ashworth started in 1815 and closed in 1998. I think this plate falls between 1859-1902. 7/99 on back may narrow it to 1899. Measures 10 1/2 inches across. Vivid blues. Reds, greens, orange and gold. Eight maker's marks on back include; A. Bros REAL IRONSTONE CHINA with crown. A blue 3, a red 2, a partial capitol B(or a backwards 6) a handwritten B 7533, an embossed W, a very small embossed A and a five line embossed area where only 7/99 is readable. There is an approximately four inch staggered worn area( varied between 1/16th to 1/64th inch wide) on the back edge pictured in the last photo. It is wear that feels sandy and more pronounced than flea bites. It can only be felt or seen on the ... moreback edge and has no effect on the front of the plate. It cannot been seen or felt on the same front edge. Some paint wear and small discolorations commensurate with age. The only other time I saw this pattern was two soup bowls that sold for $250 USD.

Antique A. Bros Ashworth Staffordshire Crescent Bone Dish Imari 1862-C.1890
For sale is a rare large antique A. Bros. G. L. Ashworth& Bros. ironstone crescent bone dish dated 1862 to circa 1890. Beautifully decorated in Imari colors of orange. Maroon, cobalt, and gold, plus light blue and lavender in the Lincoln pattern. Marked on the back with a crown, A. Bros. and a banner with"Lincoln" printed on it, an impressed"U, and hand painted B 21 in orange. This was made in Hanley, Staffordshire, England. It is 8 3/4" at its longest by 5" wide. This in excellent antique condition and it appears it was never used: I see no utensil marks, chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs; just a bit of maroon paint loss on the rim, all-over crazing with some light staining(a sign of old age) and some minute pits in the glaze, indicative of being made more than a hundred years ago. This ironstone plate measures 8-1/2" in diameter and has markings dated back to pre-1900's on the bottom. Overall previously enjoyed condition is excellent with no chips. ANTIQUE ASHWORTH BROS ENGLISH IRONSTONE CHINOISERIE PLATE
This is a fine example of English chinoiserie ironstone plate produced by the Ashworth Bros. in the early to mid-1800's. It bears the back mark of the blue crown; Ashworth Bros. is above the crown with the Hanley banner-crest below. England is printed outside and beneath the banner. There are impressed and stamped numbers and the letter F in addition to the back mark. The center imagery is a Chinese landscape showing prunus trees in bloom. And ladies in traditional attire. There is extensive use of colors in varying shades: blue, red, green, yellow, brown and lustre which enhances the entire decoration. There is some loss of paint along the edges. There is also a feeling of roughness but mainly due to firing flaws. There are no pronounced or distinct chips. For its age, the plate is in excellent to excellent plus condition. Rare Staffordshire Antique Polychrome Ashworth Real Stone China Ironstone Plate
This auction is for a Lovely and Rare Antique Polychrome Real Stone China Ironstone Plate made by Ashworth of England in the mid 1800s. It is Beautifully Decorated in a blue transferware floral pattern that is hand painted with hues of Cobalt and Green and Yellow and Orange and Purple. The plate measures 10 3/8 inches across and has a scalloped edge. The plate has what appears to be a small repair on the face at about 5 o'clock(see last photo) and some minor scratches to the flowers(see photo 7) Some minor edge roughness and what I believe is a firing imprefection to the underside table ring(photo 8) Even so. The plate Displays Wonderfully and is a Great Example of Hand Decorated 19th Century Staffordshire Ironstone. The piece has the Real Stone China Crown and Ribbon mark used by Ashworth in the mid 1800s and a hand written pattern number. ... more171.
